My Fallen Angel

Celestial Eyes

I stood nervously at the back of the crowd, the trio standing behind me as we watched the concert. Ashley was shredding the guitar, though he looked as if he could barely stand, weaving back and forth. The guys were putting on quite a show, black paint and intense lights included. CC was beating the drums, his hair tied behind his head in a messy knot.
They all looked the same, but to my eyes I could tell there was something wrong, off about them. The music was fine, but...
They finished their song, and Andy grabbed the mic, his eyes scouring the crowd.
"I wanna thank you guys for coming out tonight," the crowd screamed, "and I want all you guys to know we appreciate it! It means the world to us, really."
He gave a grin, and then threw his arms into the air.
I gasped.
No way --- did I just ---??
"Did you guys ---?"
"See that?" Theda gasped, her eyes huge as she came to stand beside me. Ashleys expression looked stunned as well; I could see it all the way from the back.
His wings.
Andiels wings had appeared in a brief flash of light when he'd raised his arms.
Despite his human form, he was an angel, and he wasn't Fallen like the rest of us.
"He still has his wings," Cronus muttered, stepping beside me. "That's impossible."
"Not impossible." Raza was scowling. "You just fucking saw it, that lucky, privileged bastard."
I glanced at him worriedly.
"It wasn't his decision to come here," I murmured, listening as the guys started their last song, Lost It All. "Not like it was ours."
"Technically, the moment he was sent down here, your decision was made," Theda murmured, taking my hand.
"Why didn't you just wait for him above, anyway? Why come down here when you know he'll just die and go back?" Raza asked, glancing at me.
"Because I wanted to make sure he went up, not down. This place is to tempting and I wanted to make sure he stayed safe." I muttered.
"Huh," was his only response.
Andys eyes swept through the crowd, and met mine for a brief second. His eyes widened, and he nearly stopped the song he looked so surprised.
I cut my gaze from his, glancing at the rest of the guys, who'd noticed his almost pause and were looking at each other in confusion.
"Wow, what a reaction to just looking at you," Theda murmured, squeezing my hand. "He does have it bad for you, doesn't he?"
"Not here," I told her, keeping my eyes forward. "He loves some mortal girl here."
"Want me to get rid of her?" Raza cracked his knuckles.
"No. I want him to live his human life the way he wants too." I gazed at him through the throng of aging bodies. "I don't want to interfere with the chance he's been given here anymore then necessary."
"You're too good to him," Theda sighed. "If it was me, I would kill every mortal he even looked at."
Raza looked at her with a frown.
I shook my head, the music finally ending. The band all did a bow, then started off stage, the crowd shifting as they started to leave.
All of us stepped to the side, allowing the masses to leave before I started forward, aiming for the backstage door, the trio following me. I let my fingers brush the stage hands arm as he started to stop us from entering, and he melted easily beneath my touch, taking several steps back as he gazed at me fondly.
"So your sin is more physical, then," Raza suddenly spoke, grinning as he looked at me. "You'd be a succubus, as the humans would call it. But you already knew that, huh?"
I pretended not to hear him.
I beyond a doubt already knew that.
I hurried down the hallway, and turned the corner, abruptly stopping. Theda crashed into me, nearly knocking me forward, but I clung to the corner.
Dammit.
Ashley stood outside the dressing room, weaving back and forth where he stood, yelling at CC with a slur to his words. I frowned.
Was he intoxicated?
"I bet he drank an entire bar to get so drunk," Raza muttered over my shoulder, gazing as the fellow angel staggered backwards, his band mates supporting him as they drug him back into the dressing room.
"I've never seen him like that before," I murmured, seeing Andy and Jinxx look at each other worriedly. Jinxx finally shrugged, then followed the rest of the guys inside. I hesitated, seeing Andy was alone, and this was my chance.
"Andy," I said softly, stepping around the corner. He glanced over, and then turned towards me. He started in my direction, and I met him halfway, relieved to see he looked perfectly fine, black paint smeared across his face.
"Kenna!" he burst, and wrapped his arms around me, nearly lifting me off the ground. I clung to him, smelling cigarettes and paint, and buried my face against his shoulder.
To finally feel his arms around me!
"Where have you been?" he muttered into my hair. "We looked everywhere for you! Ashleys been on some kind of bender and ---."
I pulled away from him.
"Is ... Is he okay?" I asked anxiously after a moment, glancing nervously at the open door. "I don't want to see him."
"He'll be okay," Andy told me, lightly grasping my arms. "Are you okay? You just disappeared and we didn't know what happened." He glanced down at my stomach. "You just said you had to take care of something..."
"I wasn't pregnant, Andy, don't worry. And it definitely wouldn't be his," I snorted, shaking my head. "And he's not the reason I'm here."
"Why then?"
"I just wanted to make sure you're okay," I said lightly, taking a step back from his grasp before he touched any bare skin.
"Why wouldn't I be? Look, Kenna, you had us all worried! Don't run off again! You can stay with us, fuck Ash, okay? He won't bother you with ---."
"Andy, please." I sighed.
"No, I don't want you to leave again!" he looked aggravated. "Everything has been shit since you left, especially with Ashley! You need to at least talk to him! He's been a mess and we can't keep dealing with him!"
I frowned up at him. "He's not that much of a handful, Andi--- um, I have to go."
I'd almost slipped.
I'd almost called him the wrong name.
I was getting too comfortable.
I glanced back, and the trio stepped forward.
"Yeah, don't worry, man," Raza suddenly slung his arm over my shoulder. "We got ... Kenna."
"And who are you?" Andy narrowed his eyes.
"Raza, Theda, and Cronus. Have we met before, man? You look so familiar to us."
I pulled away from him, wishing he wouldn't tease Andiel so. Theda sent him a look.
"Kens staying with us for a while," Theda told Andy brightly. "We're old friends."
"Right." Andy didn't look impressed.
"We'd better get going, huh?" Raza looked over my head at his girlfriend, Cronus towering behind us. "We have a party to get too."
They did, at least.
"Kenna, wait!" Andy grabbed my wrist, and I tried to jerk hastily away from him, but the damage was done.
I watched as his eyes glazed, lids drooping as he gazed at me, suddenly enamored again. His fingers slipped down between mine, his thumb caressing my skin.
Dammit.
"Hey, mate, don't get all touchy now." Raza frowned at him, and his hand clamped down on Andys wrist .
"Raza, don't. He doesn't know," I muttered, Theda tugging on his arm. I took my hand from Andys, frowning at the other angel.
"You guys go on, I'll just stay a while. I'll meet you back at the apartment."
"Fine," Theda nodded, her hand clutching Razas black shirt. "We'll go. Raza, come on!"
She pulled him behind her, Cronus hastily following as they left. What was wrong with him all of a sudden?
"Andy, listen to me," I murmured, pressing a hand against his chest as he tried to pull me into his arms. "It isn't real."
"But it feels wonderful," he murmured, leaning into my hands. "How can it not be?"
How was I going to handle this? I cast an anxious glance at the door.
"Are you afraid of Ashley?" Andy murmured, raising his hand to caress my face. "I won't let him hurt you, love. I'm here for you, always."
My lips trembled.
I don't know what was worse: hearing him say that knowing we couldn't be together, or just the fact it wasn't true, he didn't mean it.
"I'm sorry for all of this, Andy," I whispered, stepping away from him completely. "I've made a mess of this."
"Kenna ---."
"I thought I could come back," I swallowed against my tears, "but I can't. You can't even touch me with --- without ---."
I couldn't finish, tears blinding me, choking me painfully.
"Please," he whispered, those celestial eyes boring into mine, "don't cry, Kenali. I can't stand to see you so."
My eyes widened.
Did he just...?
I stared at him, but he was shaking his head now, confused.
"What did I say?" he rubbed his face, stepping back from me. He looked disoriented, and looked around in confusion. "What happened?"
"Nothing, you said nothing," I told him, crossing my arms. "Don't worry yourself."
Andy frowned.
Had Ashley let my name slip a some point? Was that the reason Andy had called me that? Or did he remember? I couldn't let myself hope for that, and it didn't matter anyway.
"I'm not listening to your shit, CC!"
I jerked, swiveling to look at the door in panic as Ashlandil stepped angrily out of the dressing room. He glanced over dismissively, but then his eyes caught mine, and he froze in the door.
"Kenna?" he croaked.

Oh no!
