Jinxx tossed the master key back to me and I opened Andy's door without knocking first. Andy’s lamp was on and he was sitting at the edge of this bed, facing the window along the far wall.

“I think I was drugged.” He held his head in his hands.

“I think we’re jet lagged.” Jinxx shrugged and leaned in the doorway.

“You’re scared of being locked in, aren’t you?” I teased.

Jinxx nodded and stayed in the doorway, keeping one eye on the hallway.

“You should apply for a job on the fourth floor.” I smirked.

“Jake’s on the 4th floor.” Andy said, reaching for a glass of water on the nightstand and holding it up, examining it against the light of the lamp. “His room didn’t have any power so the front desk gave him another room.” Andy rubbed his eyes and looked at me. “They told me to avoid leaving my room if I could.”

"Am I the only one that woke up on the first floor?” I questioned.

“Anna at the front desk told me somebody complained about the water so they were sending everybody bottled water.” Andy grabbed an empty bottle, holding it up to the lamp. “It was sealed though.”

“Jet lag.” Jinxx reminded.

“Did you drink the bottled water?” Andy sighed.

“Yeah. Then I took a shower and fell asleep.” Jinxx looked into the hallway.

“Did you drink it?” Andy asked Ashley.

“No. I had my own water and I don’t see how you guys can sleep through the screaming.” Ashley shrugged and leaned against the wall.

Andy took on a blank facial expression. “Dude, what screaming?”

Ashley rolled his eyes. “I don’t hear it now.” He raised an eyebrow. “I think there's something wrong with my room."

I went back to Ashley's room. “I don’t hear any screaming?” I looked at him with grave concern.

He pointed to the window. “It seems to be coming from the heating pipes in the wall.”

I went to the window and put my ear down to the heat register, closing my eyes and blocking out my other senses. And there it was, I heard screaming. I looked at Ashley in horror. “You can hear that?”

“It’s deafening when you’re trying to sleep.” Ashley shrugged. “I tried to get another room but nobody was answering at the front desk.”

“Why didn’t you text me?” I shrugged and went back to Andy’s room.

“My phone doesn’t work.” Ashley rolled his eyes.

“Neither.” Andy added.

“Mine does.” Jinxx looked at his phone. “I’m going to check on Jake.”
