I awoke in the same room on the first floor for the 3rd time. I started to feel like I was incorrectly solving a puzzle, over and over.

I grabbed the key from the door and stopped by the main doors which were still locked from the outside. I threw a chair from a nearby room at the lobby doors. The chair bounced back unaffected. I threw the chair at the doors repeatedly until the chair broke, then jammed a large splinter of wood into the crack between the two front doors which I then threw another chair at.

The doors didn’t open, there as a large steel plate on the other side of the doors making it impossible to simply pop the lock. Even if I broke the first set of doors, there was another set leading outside that I’d have to figure out.

I jumped behind the front desk and looked around. The cabinets were locked but throwing a chair at the situation solved that problem. The only thing inside the cabinets was a stack of keycards, which I grabbed and headed to the 4th floor.

The 3rd floor was still under construction. The 4th floor wasn’t locked anymore and it had a vending machine which I threw a chair at to break the glass. With my arms filled with chips and candy and my pockets filled with keycards, I headed to Jinxx’s room.

“Wake up.” I walked in, throwing a bag of chips at his head.

“What the hell?” Jinxx sat up and I dropped the snacks and keys onto his bed. “I know I sleep pretty deeply but I feel like I missed something.”

“Whatever dream you think you woke up from just now actually happened.” I said, angrily biting into a chocolate bar. “We have a puzzle to solve. I’m not fucking doing this again.”

“Is your arm bleeding?” He studied me with an expression of grave concern upon his face.

“I’ve thrown a lot of chairs tonight.” I said through gritted teeth.

“Where’s?” He started to ask.

“Everyone else is in other rooms on this floor, you and I have the only working phones, nobody’s been able to leave the hotel since we checked in, the third floor is under construction, nobody is at the front desk, and I’ve awoke three fucking times in the same room on the first floor tonight.” I interrupted.

At first he seemed like he thought I was making this up but his memory soon clicked in. “This has been a long night.” He sighed, his head in his hands.

“Neverending.” I replied, tearing into another chocolate bar.

“How do we stop this?” Jinxx looked up at me with hope in his eyes and for a moment my heart sank. He was looking to me for answers I didn’t have.

“I need to get out of here and never come back.” I looked at Jake’s empty bed.

“Jake didn’t check in.” Jinxx sighed.

I went back to the hallway and stared at what was supposed to be Jake’s room the first time I woke up. I glared at the door until my eyes started watering from not blinking. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief as the door opened on its own every 90 seconds. “Are you fucking kidding me?” I yelled at the door.
