I stood up and surveyed my surroundings. Everything looked the same as the first time I woke up in this room. I grabbed the master key from the door handle and returned to the third floor, which was still under construction. I grabbed the same coffee pot and avoided looking at floor 4 as I took the stairs to Jinnx’s room.

I felt a little bit invincible as I stood in front of Jinxx’s door. There were no pieces of broken furniture in the hallway. Jake’s door didn’t open and close on its own. It was 2:34 am, the same day, and the hallway was quiet.

I scanned into Jinxx’s room, leaving my shoe in the doorway. “Wake up dude, we’re going on an adventure.” I announced, kicking the corner of his bed.

“Is that CC?” Jake sighed from the second bed. He sat up and rubbed his face.

I was taken aback at the sound of his voice and turned the light on to make sure he was really there. Jinxx was sleeping too hard to notice so I texted him, ‘Wake up dude, we’re going on an adventure.”

Jinxx’s phone lit up next to his head and he grabbed the phone, texting back without realizing that the lights were on and the party had already started.

“Dude.” I said as Jinxx texted me back.

Jinxx turned his head and gasped when he saw me already standing in the room. “What the fuck?”

I laughed.

“Where’s your shoe?” Jake looked confused, a hand still on his face.

“In the door.” I said.

“In…the door?” Jake replied.

“So you guys don’t get locked in the room.” I said.

“How would we be locked inside of our room?” Jake asked.

“Have you left the room?” I folded my arms.

“Repeatedly.” Jake sighed and folded his arms. “I've been trying to get room service all night. I haven’t eaten and the main doors are locked from the outside.”

“Are you holding a coffee pot?” Jinxx asked.

I looked at the coffee maker on the desk and it looked fine, there didn't appear to be any poisoned water bottles around. I put my shoe on and set the coffee pot down. What if everything was back to normal?

“Are you awake?” I texted Ashley.

“Nobody’s phone works.” Jake shrugged and lay down, staring at the ceiling.

“Mine does.” Jinxx set his phone down.

“How’d you get in here?” Jake asked.

“I have a master key.” I said, but I didn’t feel like going on an adventure with them. I felt like letting them sleep and finding another adventure. “Well, I should find Ashley.” I started to leave.

“He’s across the hall.” Jinxx said.

“Andy’s across the hall in 557.” I corrected.

“No, Ashley’s in 557.” Jake closed his eyes.

Jinxx sat up , watching me closely. “Are you feeling okay?”

“Yeah, no, I woke up on the first floor in a room by myself.” I didn’t know what else to say. Jinxx and Jake had no idea what happened the first time I woke up and it couldn’t have been more than a couple of hours ago. I lifted the corner of Jinxx’s blanket to check if the bed still had sheets, it did. I leaned on the table to see if it was damaged after having seen it destroyed, it wasn’t.

“They were looking for a room for you on the 5th floor, and you asked for any available room so you could sleep for a bit” Jake said, his eyes still closed.

“Don’t you remember?” Jinxx asked.

No, I didn’t remember, but I wasn’t about to admit it to him. “I had a weird dream.” I shrugged it off. “I must’ve crashed pretty hard.” I started to leave. Ashley would understand. “Sorry to be a pain in the ass.” I left the room.

I looked at 557 and still believed it was Andy’s room. I scanned Ashley’s room next to his and saw the ripped chair near the doorway where it had been before.

“I don’t need any room service, thank you.” Andy said from the darkness.

“It’s CC.” I answered.

“What the fuck?” Andy turned the lamp on and looked at me. “I was having the worst dream.” He rubbed his palms against his cheeks. “It involved clowns and chainsaws amongst other things.” He shook his head and laughed.

“I guarantee my dream was worse.” I heard a door opening in the hallway. “I’ll be back in a sec.” I left Andy lying in confusion.
