Blood Secrets: Tales of the Children of the Moon

Chapter Thirty-Three: A Bad Decision

Chapter Thirty-Three: A Bad Decision

Tears streamed down Ravyn's face as she drove as fast as she could- without going over the speed limit- heading for Goddess only knew where. She turned her music up, blaring the band H.I.M.'s CD "Love Metal". She was so angry, so afraid of what was to come, that she never even noticed that she was being tailed by a black Dodge charger. When she looked in her rear view mirror and saw the car, she at first didn't think anything of it, until she noticed the driver of the car was Angel, Dragon sitting in the passenger seat of his own car. She growled in anger and turned sharply to the right.

The chase began.

It took Ravyn quiet a bit of time to lose her fiancee and brother but after a time, she finally did, losing them in a group of cars on the highway. She took the Brigsmore and Carpenter off ramp and took off down the road, heading for a park that was near by the old school Angel and Ravyn had first met at. She slammed on her brakes as soon as she reached the park and pulled open her glove box, grabbing her two knives and strapping them to her arms. She got out of the truck and walked over to the swings in the park, looking around to make sure no one was around. A large pumpkin carriage sat in a sand pit a ways away from her and she smiled as she saw it. This was a park that was close by her mother's old home. She would go here and practice her fighting with an old friend of hers named Leo. They would spar for a time, before they would pull out their Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon cards and duel for hours on end. She missed days like that, days where she didn't have to worry about revenge or her sister leaving her.

A silent sob escaped her lips as she thought of Sorcha leaving her. She knew deep down that she wasn't leaving FOREVER, but it was still the fact that she was leaving in the first place that got to her. They had promised each other that they would always be together until the end. Until they had killed the wolf who killed their families. And now, Sorcha was leaving. All because Ravyn had gotten pregnant.

"I can't deal with this," she whispered as she swung back and forth slowly on the swing. She looked down at her forearms, where her knives were strapped to them. She unsheathed one of the blades and took off the two sheaths from her arms, strapping them into two of her belt loops so she wouldn't lose them. She sat back on the swing and placed the blade to the sensitive flesh of her inner arm. She looked at the skin there, covered in white lines that were paler than her own ghostly pale skin. They were scars from her past. Scars that she wore like badges of honor. And here she was about to make another.

She glared at her skin before she pressed down on the blade, slashing it across her arm. Blood welled up from the wound she created, pain slicing through her arm. But as the pain came, a sensation of release and calm washed over her whole being, and she felt comforted by the sensation. She knew she had once promised Angel that she would never cut again and she felt horrible for going back on that promise now, but she couldn't deal with the feelings of abandonment that Sorcha had caused her. And so she cut.

Again and again and again she slashed the blade across her arms, cutting deeper and deeper each time. She let the blade drop from her hand after a moment, blood pouring from her wounds and onto the wood chips that littered the ground beneath her feet. She felt woozy from the blood loss but she didn't care. The feeling of comfort was more important to her then. She leaned against the chain of the swing and closed her eyes, sighing as the sting of the wounds lulled her into a sense of peace. She closed her eyes and let the swing lull her even further. She didn't even hear the car door that slammed a short time later, nor did she hear the screams of the two men she had lost not long ago.

"Where the fuck did she go?" Angel growled as he and Dragon continued to search for Ravyn. They had gotten off of the Highway shortly after Ravyn (not that they had known that), and had begun searching the town, going to any place they knew Ravyn would go. They went to Sommerset, a middle school that was just down the road from where her parents had used to live, they went to one of the two parks by her parents old home, and now they were heading down Tokay Ave., a street by her parents home that would lead to the other park.

"Wait!" Dragon yelled suddenly, making Angel slam on the brakes. Dragon went flying into the dashboard as he did. "Sorry bro," Angel whispered as he looked left and right, trying to see what Dragon had seen. "Look back there, at the other end of the park! Isn't that her truck?" Dragon asked, pointing to the lone black Ford F 150 that was sitting in the parks back parking lot, near the baseball field. Angel nodded and parked on the side of the road at the front of the park, not far from the pumpkin carriage. Both he and Dragon got out of the car, Angel slamming the door shut as they did. Dragon grabbed two flashlights from the back of his car before he too slammed his door shut. He tossed one to Angel, both of them turning on the two flashlights as they walked towards the play sets that were at the park. "RAVYN!?" They yelled, hoping she would answer. They flashed their lights all around the park and finally caught sight of a lone figure sitting on one of the swings. That's when they both caught the scent that sent chills down Angel's spine.

Blood.

"Ravyn!" Angel yelled, running towards the figure he knew was his fiancee. Dragon tailed close behind him. They reached Ravyn in a short minute and Angel fell to his knees in front of her. He saw one of her blades on the ground, sticking straight up in the wood chipped ground. "Ravyn, babygirl, talk to me!" He whispered, placing both his hands on either side of her face. Ravyn groaned in protest at the feeling, her eyes cracking open and showing those iced jade sea coloured eyes of hers that he loved so much.

"Angel?" Ravyn whispered, opening her eyes wider as she caught sight of her fiancee in front of her. Tears once again began streaming down her face. "I'm so sorry Angel," she whispered sobbing. "I broke my promise," she said, raising her arms slightly. "Is she okay?" Dragon asked from behind Angel. Angel didn't answer, just looked at Ravyn with sadness. "It's okay babygirl, I'm just glad your safe," he whispered. Dragon caught sight of Ravyn's arms then and took off his shirt, leaving him in a black tank top. He handed the shirt to Angel who wiped off the blood from Ravyn's arms, getting a better look at the wounds. There had to be at least twenty new wounds on her arms, some of them straight across, some criss crossing others, and two the were vertical, following the lines of her veins. His eyes widened. "Can you move baby?" He asked, looking up at her tear streaked face. Ravyn nodded, getting up. Immediately her knees buckled and Angel caught her before she fell to the ground. "D, go get the truck and get it home. I'll take the charger and bring her home after I clean her up," he said, turning to Dragon, who nodded and shifted forms, turning into his large Dragon form- knowing it would get him to the truck quicker- his black scales gleaming in the light of the street light that stood near the bathrooms. He unfurled his large, leathery and tattered black wings and launched off of the ground, making it to Ravyn's truck in seconds, only flapping his wings twice. Angel watched his friend leave and make it to the truck and shift forms once again before he picked Ravyn up bridal style and took her over to the women's bathroom. He placed Ravyn down in the first stall, sitting her down on the toilet, before going over to the sink and soaking Dragon's shirt in the water. He returned to Ravyn after a moment and lifted one of her arms, gently wiping her arm, removing all the blood he could. He saw that her wounds were already beginning to close but he knew, with all the blood she had lost, that she would need blood to survive.

He pulled Ravyn's head toward his neck and pulled her other knife from it's sheath, and making a small wound at the base of his throat. He pulled Ravyn close to him. "You need to take my blood babygirl. Do it for me, do it for the twins," he pleaded when Ravyn shook her head slowly. That got her to do what he wanted. That and the smell of his blood seemed too intoxicating for her to resist. Her fangs, fangs that always showed in her smile and were more like k-nine's on a normal day, elongated past her teeth and she sank them into Angel's flesh, her vampiric instincts taking over and injecting a small amount of pheromones that made her feeding more pleasurable to her victim (something that all vampires did).

Angel hissed in pain and pleasure as Ravyn's fangs sank into his vein. He cradled her head as she fed from his neck, feeling the effects of the pheromones quickly. He felt himself becoming hard at the feeling of her feeding from him, but he ignored the feeling, focusing on Ravyn and how much blood she was taking. After a moment, he placed two fingers on the arm that had snaked around his neck, drawing him closer to her, and tapped it lightly, telling her that was enough and it was time to stop. After a moment more, Ravyn retracted her fangs and moved away from Angel, licking the excess blood from her lips. She looked away from him. "Thank you," she whispered, sorrow filling her voice. Angel just nodded. "Your welcome babygirl, and before you say it," he added, grabbing her chin lightly and pulling her head so she was looking at him in the eyes. "It's okay. You were forgiven even before you did it. Remember?" He asked, using the same saying he always did when she did something she didn't think he would approve of. Ravyn just nodded and looked down at her arms, the wounds already scabbing up thanks to Angel's blood.

"Come on," Angel said, picking her up once more. Ravyn squeaked as he picked her up and glared at him. "I can walk on my own now thanks," she growled. Angel just rolled his eyes and walked back to Dragon's car, placing her in the passenger seat and beginning to strap her in. Ravyn slapped his hands away when he tried. "I can do it!" She snapped, making Angel smile and nod. He went over to the driver's side and got in, turning the engine over and backing out of the parking site, heading for home.

Ravyn opened the door to the apartment, Angel's hands being full with her in his arms once more, and the two of them walked- well Angel walked, Ravyn just sat pouting in his arms- into the house, Angel walking down the hall to their room and placing her down on the bed. Dragon, who was sitting in one of the bean bag chairs in the room, fidgeting nervously, shot up from his seat when the two came into the room. "Are you okay sis?" He asked worriedly. Ravyn just nodded. "I could use a joint or a smoke, but otherwise yes," she mumbled as she laid back on the comfy pillow top bed. Angel and Dragon laughed. "Yeah she's okay," they both said, making Ravyn smile. She looked out the door to the two open bedroom doors of her sister's rooms. "Guess they stayed over at Vixen's tonight," she mumbled sadly. Dragon and Angel nodded in agreement before Dragon handed her a joint from his case, handing another to Angel and picking out one for himself. Ravyn lit up and pulled the smoke into her mouth, holding it for a long time before finally blowing it out, almost choking as she did. Angel grabbed their laptop off the floor and opening up his Steam account. He looked through the games until he found the game he knew Ravyn would love to play. He placed the computer in font of Ravyn who's eyes lit up at the sight. "But wait," she said looking at Angel. "I thought you didn't like scary games at night?" She asked. Angel shrugged. "I'm more worried about making you happy right now, than myself."

Ravyn shook her head. "I don't want your night terrors acting up just because I want to play the game Baby," she whispered, pushing the computer away. Angel rolled his eyes and plugged in a headset, handing her the cord. "It won't bug me if those are in. Besides, D and I are gonna play a game. So go a head and play your Five Nights At Freddy's babe," Ravyn sighed but didn't complain, placing the headset in her ears and clicking on the play button.

And that was how Angel, Ravyn and Dragon spent their night, playing games and smoking until the wee hours of the morning, when Dragon went into Sorcha's room to sleep and Ravyn curled up with Angel, falling asleep almost immediately. None of them mentioned what had happened earlier that night, and how, if they hadn't found Ravyn when they did, she could have lost her life.

Notes

Author's Note:

Okay! So, another chapter down! Yay me! Haha. So, what do you think? I wasn't originally gonna do a cutting scene seeing as that seems to be a theme in most fanfictions, but I decided to go with it in the end. The Middle School and street names I used in this chapter are actual names of school's and streets here in Modesto and while we didn't move into the house I mentioned here until 2009 (way after Ravyn's family was murdered), I decided to go with it in the end. It was easier for me to do seeing as I know this area so well after all.

Next chapter Ravyn gets another Tattoo and may even get a job at the shop! Idk just yet, but I'm working on it!

Until next time guys! See you on the other side and Blessed Be!

Also! Started up another story that ties into this one but its about Ravyn and the gang, thought you might want to read it, seeing as you like Ravyn so much, so I'm posting the link to it here. Cant do the bvb fafanfic site (here) cause Andy and them don't show up for a long while and shit but here's the link to the story if you wanna read it:
