Before You Knew Jinxx...

I guess I had been thinking for a long time, because next thing I knew, the bell rang. I sat up, and opened my KISS backpack to put my notebook away. I kept my earbuds in, and stood up. I walked out of the room, and was on my way to my next class. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around, and there he was. The guy from my math class. Had he followed me? “Uhm…hi. I just wanted to introduce myself. I’m Jeremy.” Wow. He was talking to me! Okay, no. Sara!! Don’t fall for him. Don’t trust him! He is a guy. He will just break your heart like Jeff did. They are all the same. My mind was racing. I guess I hadn’t said anything, and it had been a few too many seconds. He had a smile on his face. “Sorry, I just wanted to say hi. You seem nice, and I don’t have many friends. None, to be exact.” He apologized. I finally came out of my trance. “Oh no, that is okay. I just am a bit out of it today,” I lied. I was not out of it. He was the one who froze my brain. I couldn’t think! He was more beautiful than anybody I had ever seen! “Are you new? I mean, to the school?” I asked. He didn’t answer. He just stared. I suddenly felt really insecure. He was staring at me. “Yeah I am. I moved here a few weeks ago from LA.” He said. “Oh wow that is awesome! Hollywood, right?” I asked. “Yep! I’m actually in a band, but I was forced to move. My mom got a new boyfriend, and so here I am.” He said. “Wow! Well at least your mom has a boyfriend. My mom….doesn’t.” I faded off. I didn’t realize I was giving so much away. He was still a stranger. And my Mom had issues. I mean TONS of issues. But that didn’t mean I had to tell him. “What band are you in? Or….were?” I asked, trying to change the subject from my Mom. “Oh I am still in it. Just long distance. I’ll fly out to LA and play when I need to.” He said. Oh wow, he must be rich. He could just fly to LA whenever he wanted? Wow. “Well what band are you in?” I wanted to know! “It’s called ‘Amen’” Wait, Amen, like the famous one? “Wait, are you talking about the Amen that has been around for a long time?” I asked. I wanted to know! That would be so cool if he was in it! I actually liked their music! And if he was in it, how did I not recognize him? “Yes, actually.” He said, smiling. “WHAT? That’s amazing! I have a lot of…I guess... ‘your’ music!” I laughed. Wow, I hadn’t laughed in a long time. “Thanks haha. I’m glad you like it! Guitar is my life. I also play the violin and cello, but those aren’t exactly our style.” He laughed. Oh man. His laugh….Okay, Sara. STOP FALLING FOR HIM! The bell rang. “Oh wow, I’m late for class.” I said. “Oh yeah, you should go. I’ll talk to you later.” He sounded sad. “Oh, I don’t have to go to class…” I said. “You should.” He said. “Okay. Well…” That was all I could say. He swooped in and kissed me. Time froze. It felt like electricity had gone through my entire body. Not painful, though. I was speechless. That was the most amazing thing I had ever experienced. I guess my face looked funny, because Jeremy laughed. “Sorry.” He said. “No...no… don’t apologize….” I stuttered.
