Nothing is what it seems

(Jake POV)
I heard talking going on in the front of the bus, but I couldn't make out the voices; that's because I had my music going with headphones on. It was probably Midnight, Meadow and Angel, with the guys and Reign. Why the hell hasn't Ella texted me back yet? I texted her just about an hour ago…I sighed. Hey fucktard, she's probably in the middle of a photo shoot. She told you earlier that she was going to one today…she is a model after all. I hear a round of congratulations and CC saying thanks with Meadow. Are they finally going out? God, there goes the peaceful nights I was having. I bet Ash and Midnight are next.…or it could be Jinxx and Angel. A knock on the bunk door pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Come in." I tell the knocker.
"Hey Jake, CC and Meadow are dating now." Andy told me.
As I suspected…great. I got out of my bunk and turned off my music. I followed Andy out to the front of the bus. "Hey C, Mead…congratulations."
"Thanks man." CC said as he looked lovingly into Meadow's eye.
I looked away as they went into the backroom, most likely to tear their clothes off. Wish Ella was here so I could do the same…I turned to follow them, but found them in CC's bunk. I knocked on wood next to his bunk.
"Yeah, Jake?" CC asked as he turned to look at me.
"Meadow…is the bar open?" I asked.
"No, but I could open it for you if you like." She answered.
I smiled. "Nah, it's alright…I'll just wait until you're ready to open it."
"Are you sure?" she asked
"Yeah, I'm positive." I said as I got into my bunk.
Sometime later, I was shaken awake by Reign. When the hell did I fall asleep? I looked at him. "What?" I asked him.
"We're all going inside the bar."He said. "Meadow said that you had wanted to go in." He added.
"Yeah, I had."
"Do you not want to go in now?"
"I do."
He smiled weakly. "Okay, well lets go."
I smiled. "Okay."
I got up from my bunk and walked out of the bus.
"Heh-hey, he's up." Ashley said in an overly excited mood.
What is he and Midnight going out now…and I slept through their announcement of being together? "What has you in a good mood Purdy boy?"
He laughed. "Oh come on, Jake, lighten up. You've been asleep since you had gone back to your bunk at ten thirty this morning." He so totally just dodged my fucking question.…asshole.
I looked at him in confusion. "Ten thirty?"
"Yeah, you said something about Ella not texting you back…in your sleep."
"Oh…must've been a bad dream."
"Liar."
Shit…I forgot he's a fucking lie detector…"Whatever…" I said as I walked into the bar.
(Ashley POV)
I stared after Jake. Did I say something wrong or is he really just that worried about Ella not texting him back?
"Come on, Ash…let's go inside." Midnight told me as she pulled me away from my concern about Jake.
I had looked around us and realized it was just her and I that were standing outside the bar.
"One moment…" I said as I trialed off.
"What is it?" she asked.
I pulled her close to me. "How painful is it to change me like you?"
She looked at me confused. "I-I-I don't know…" she said, shocked that I asked her. "Jinxx's dad would be able to tell you. I was born this way…and Jinxx's dad is the only turned mystic I know that survived the process." She added.
I nodded. "Midnight…" I trailed off.
"Yes, Ashley?" She asked as she laughed a little. What a beautiful sound…it is.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked her as I stared into her eyes.
She stared back into my chocolate eyes. "Yes." she whispered.
I finished closing the gap between us and kissed her. I felt a little weird like I just had a dejavu moment…but then remembered the vision I had seen when we first met. I felt her kiss back and I knew…that I was right about what I saw. She is the one who'll tame me…she's the one who I want to spend the rest of my life…whether mystic or not…with.
(Jake POV)
I looked at my phone and saw that I had gotten a text message from Ella. I sighed in relief and read it. I was about to reply when I heard the bar door open and saw, when I looked towards the door, a Greek goddess walk in. She's stunning. Golden hair flowing down to mid shoulder in somewhat tight curls. Her hair was up like that of Arwen from 'Lord of the Rings' when we first see her. She had on a beautiful white flowing dress that was long sleeved. She's so--stop it, Jake, you're engaged to a beautiful woman…yeah,but not beautiful as this golden hair beauty. Goddamn, Jake. Quit it. FUCK! what am I going to do? I can't stop staring at her. I love Ella…she and I are going to be married…when again?…oh yeah, we're still working on the date for it…should I…? No, calling her and doing that over the phone.…is a bad move.…but so is going to this beauty and thinking I have a chance with her…What the hell is wrong with me?
(Jinxx POV)
I looked towards the door and saw something that I thought I'd never see in any of my millenniums…She's a rare mystic, I could tell just by looking at her. All rare mystics look like a porcelain doll. I looked around and noticed all the other mystics in the bar were staring at her…kind of like how it was when I first walked in.I looked around our table and noticed Jake staring at her. Like CC had been with Meadow…though he seemed more…lost in thought and fighting himself mentally then CC was. She walked right up to Meadow at the counter, ignoring the eyes on her as if she was use to it. She then ordered something and the bar returned to normal. I looked back at Jake and he still had his eyes on her. What if she is his real true love? That would be something. Wouldn't it? Having a rare mystic mixed with a turned sleeping mystic? As far as our history goes, it's unheard of and not possible....but history was made to be changed, right?
(Jake POV)
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck..…FUCK! I'm so screwed.…What the hell is wrong with me? I can't cheat on Ella…but this beauty.…I.…"Jinxx…" I whispered as I forced myself to tear my gaze from the Greek beauty.
"Yeah Jake?" he asked curiously. Shit, he must've seen my reaction to the girl…hopefully he could help me.
"Can we talk in private somewhere away from that beau---I mean away from everyone?" I asked.
He laughed a little. "Sure." He said as CC got out so he could leave.
I got out of my seat and went around the table to Jinxx.
"Come on."he said as he guided me to the room he had pulled Ashley when they talked about something. "Now, what is it?" He asked when we were both behind the door and he closed it.
"I-I-I'm freaking out, Jinxx…I don't know what to do."
He laughed. "I can tell." he said.
"This isn't funny, Jinxx, Ella could kill me." I told him in a panicked voice.
He sighed. "First off, what are you freaking out about?" He asked. "For all you know, you aren't her type…second that girl that you were so drooling over is a Rare mystic."
I froze. A rare mystic? What's that?
"A rare mystic is a being, who has another feature in relation to a mythical being but are a hundred percent mystic…they're born with second born power to hide their mythical relation feature."
I must've said that outloud, because I know he can't read minds. "Mythical being? As in what…a mermaid?"
He smiled with a laugh. "No, like a unicorn or a fairy."
"Oh." I then looked at him. "Should I go talk to her?"
"You can try…I've never been lucky enough to see a Rare mystic like this before… so I don't know if she'll acknowledge you or not."
"Thanks for the confidence builder." I muttered as my panic attack deflated.
(Peace POV)
I sat at the bar, with my drink in hand as I felt one pair of eyes on me. Though the feeling went away after a while when I saw Jinxx and one of his members go into a secluded room. A big hot shot like Jinxx in a little bar like this? I looked around and I found two others looking my way, but they saw right through me. One set of eyes followed the waitress around…the one that only took care of others like me I'm assuming…and the other was following the bartender around. Both of them are mortal though…But then I remembered that Jinxx's dad was mortal and I gasped. They were Jinxx's band members.…they must belong to these two girls…or they're just looking to get the girls sterile.
"Miss…do you want another round?" the bartender asked, as she pulled me away from my thoughts.
"No…can I have water?" I answered her.
"Of course."
"Oh…and uh…that guy over there in the booth won't stop staring at you."I added as I pointed to the guy with a black bandana across his forehead and under his black shoulder length hair at the booth behind me.
She laughed. "I know…that's my boyfriend." she answered. "His name is CC…he plays the drums for Jinxx's band."
I see…so he's her true love then. "And the other guy thats been eyeing the waitress around?"
"He's her boyfriend…he's the bass guitarist and his name is Ashley."
"And your name?"
"You can call me 'Den'…but my name is Meadow…and her name is Midnight."
"My name is Peace, but call me 'Ira'." I told her.
"It's nice to meet you."
"Same." I said. "Whose the guy that Jinxx is with?"
"Jinxx isn't with a guy…he's with a girl named Angel."
"Oh…" I said intrigued."But still…who was that, that Jinxx brought to the secluded room?"
"Oh that's Jake…Jinxx's lead guitarist…why?"
"He's hot."
(Meadow POV)
I laughed. "I'm sorry sweetie, but he's taken by a mortal…he's engaged to her."
"Damn.…why is it all the hot guys are taken?" She asked. "What about that one?" She added as she pointed to Andy. I have to admit she does have good taste in men.
"He's taken too…mortal girlfriend…and his name is Andy, he's Jinxx's lead vocals."
Is she trying to hook up with one of them? She'll become sterile, if they aren't her true love…she knows this, I hope.
She nodded as she took a drink of her water.
(Jake POV)
"Look, Jake, if you want to talk to her. Go for it…as far as your relationship with Ella goes this girl is just an acquaintance. Nothing to stress over…unless you touch her…like you had with Reign and see something…like Ash and CC had when they met their girls."
"And that would be a result of me being what?" I asked Jinxx.
"Well there's two terms for it…the first being a 'sleeping mystic'…which is what Ash and CC are…a sleeping mystic is a human, like yourself, who has mystic powers within them."
"And the other term?" I asked.
"Is when their power is awaken…as in they become a mystic by going through a painful transition…dad told me he barely made it through his…and the term is called 'turned mystic' which is a human who became a mystic by the order of our mystic government…the process is only granted to the mystics whose true loves are human."
"So then…they saw their future when they met Midnight and Meadow." I asked.
"Yes." He said. "If you see your future with this mystic, then she's your real true love, Jake, and you'll have to make a decision whether you want Ella or this mystic."
I sighed. "I guess talking never hurt anyone, unless it ends up as something. right?"
"Right."
I then gave him a confused look. "How do you know she's a rare mystic?"
"All the mystics were staring at her like they had when I entered the bar with you guys two weeks ago.…but they held their gaze longer on her than on me." He answered. "Also I've heard that all rare mystics look like porcilene dolls…and they have a second born power to hide their mythical being part.…whether it's horns, wings, tails, or create an illusion of a mundane arm, leg, or eyes."
I nodded. "Okay…I'm going to talk to her then."
"Good luck."
"Thanks."
"You're going to need it."
"I know." I said then walked out of the room.

Author's Note: This chapter was written after I had learnt of Jake's break up with Ella and before I had learnt of Jake's new girlfriend Inna Logvin....and since I had Jake and Ella still together in the book, I needed to find a way to have him call off the engagement with Ella. So this was the start of how I came up with that solution.
