The Fever Becomes My Home

Ashley walked out of Andy's room walking towards another room to care for the other patients he'd been given care over on that floor. The whole time he tried to focus on what he was doing but his mind constantly wandered back down to Andys room. He knew Andy never talked to anyone but Elizabeth and normally ignored anyone who tried to talk to him so the fact that Andy even spoke to him and trusted him enough to help him, made him feel semi special and appreciated.
He continued working for a few hours before he decided to go on a small break so he walked down to the employee break lounge quickly noticing who was standing outside the door with a soda in her hand- Tori. He rolled his eyes, walking up to the soda machine getting himself one.
"Ash, I'm uhm sorry about earlier-"
Ashley interrupted her by putting his hand in a way of saying shut up. "No." He shook his head as he shoved past her and walked inside the lounge sitting down on the couch.
Ashley was of course incredibly annoyed and upset with Tori because of what she had done. He didn't understand why it had made him so incredibly mad at the time, but it did and he didn't want at all for anyone at all to hurt Andy.
"Ash seriously-" again he cut her off,
"It's Ashley. And stop apologizing. I don't exactly care if you're sorry because you still did it. And you still upset and hurt him." He stood and threw his bottle away, starting to walk out the door.
Tori stood in his way, "No. Listen. Why do you care so much?"
Ashley's jaw dropped a bit as his eyebrows raised, "Who do you think you are that you can ask me that? You're ridiculous, Tori." He shoved her hand down out of his way and started off towards Andys room in hopes that he would have calmed.
On his way to his room, his phone rang. He took it out of his pocket seeing Elizabeth's name on the screen. He answered it, "Hey, how are you feeling?" He asked sort of confused about why she would call.
"A bit better." her scratchy voice replied, "I just wanted you to tell Andy that I'll be back in two days." She with a cough before sighing.
"I will." His smile coming through his voice. "I'm about to go see him." He said taking the phone away from his face to hang up.
Once he approached the door, he looked through small window noticing that he was awake. He smiled to himself and knocked softly on the door before opening it and walking in quietly. "Hey there.." He said softly, walking over to the boy who appeared to have just woken up. Andy looked towards Ashley, a small smile seeming to appear on his face. "How's my little batman doin'?" He asked noticing his smile as he sat down in a chair next to the bed. Andy looked at him and nodded slowly.
"F-Fine.." He stuttered a bit, still feeling nervous and tired.
"That's good." Ashley smiled warmly. "Elizabeth told me to tell you that she would be back in two days."
Andys face immediately lit up at the statement but that was as far as his reaction went. "Ashley..?" Andy asked, looking at Ashley curiously.
"Yeah?" Ashley replied.
"Were you.. Upset about yesterday?" Ashley thought and remembered what happened yesterday. He shook his head no.
"No no. I wasn't upset." He smiled. Of course he was lying. He was upset but not angry, a little sad, but not angry. "Why do you ask?" Ashley asked softly. Andy shook his head and looked away from Ashley again.
"No reason.."
Ashley nodded. "Do you need anything?" Ashley asked, about to stand up. Andy shook his head no, curling his knees up to his chest. Ashley stood, walking towards the door. "I'll be back in a few." He smiled, turning around to look at him. Andy nodded with a genuine smile, loosening his grip on his legs. Ashley couldn't help but grin at the adorable smile he'd earned.
"Y-you could stay if you'd like.." Andy said quietly, looking at Ashley hopefully. Ashley nodded and walked back over to a chair beside his bed and sat down, talking with him for a while.
