Kissing the Concrete

Chapter 34: Blood

Andy's P.O.V.

I had been driving for about an hour when I got a call from Jake.

"What's up?"

"Where are you, man? Weren't we supposed to practice?" Jake said, seemingly confused.

"No. I'm on my way to Pittsburgh to find Iris. I got a strange letter from someone who claimed to know me saying she was in the steel city. But I don't know anyone in Pittsburgh."

"Really? Maybe it's Jimmy, remember him? Freshman biology? He was that creepy kid who liked your girlfriend and who you used to pick on. I heard he moved to Pittsburgh right after junior year with his parents."

And suddenly, it all made sense. Jimmy was always that mentally unstable kid, quite awkward, introverted and had strong feelings about everything: he either loved or hated things. I remember him having a big crush on Lexi. But why the hell did he take away my girlfriend? What had she ever done to him?

I hung up on Jake after having discussed the last 24 hours for a while, mainly to keep me from tearing up again. At this point, I wasn't as worried about her actually being alive as I worried about her being traumatized or physically hurt. He might even try killing her before I make it there!

I tried pushing away all my worrysome thoughts as I kept traveling straight forward on the deserted road. As I went, the darkness started falling slowly, but I refused to stop. It may be a long way to go, but I needed to see her before it was too late.

Iris' P.O.V.

"Please don't hurt me. What have I done to you?" I said. The strange man was still sitting in the dark on the other side of the garage.

"Oh you haven't done anything sweetheart. Except forming allies with enemies. My enemies friend is my enemy. And his girlfriend my nemesis."

"Stop it! I used to hate Andy, he used to be my nemesis, but now he's changed."

"Has he? I bet he's just playing with your mind. It is what he always do."

I thought about it for a second, but quickly pushed away the thought. After all we've been through together, I was certain that what he felt was real. So were my feelings. I refused to say anything in response.

Sitting right in front of someone who was crazy enough to kidnap me was scary. But because of the darkness, I couldn't see if he was unarmed. Therefore, I didn't dare to move even an inch, not knowing whether I was in danger of being shot or stabbed.

"Please let me go." I whispered to myself.

"What?"

"Please let me go." This time, I said it louder.

"Why would I? I know what I want, and I'm not gonna let it slip."

He crawled over to where I was sitting and pulled out a pocket knife, placing it underneath my chin.

"You better not fight it. Or your precious boyfriend is going to find you black-out dead."

Tears started streaming down my face. "Okay." I said. He stood up right in front of me, kicking me in the stomach. It was painful, but I could stand it. He then grabbed my tied hand, slicing up a long wound in my left wrist with the help of the knife. The blood started flooding out of the wound, staining the back of my t-shirt.

"Please just don't kill me."

"I don't mean to kill you. I just wanna hurt you. But I might change my mind."

The man left the garage. He was complete and utter crazy.

Notes

More thriller, less romance. But the romance thing will come back, I promise.

So far I enjoy this part, even though it's kind of a filler. Once again, thanks to all of you reading this!
