The Boy With The Blue Eyes
The Walk To School
"Bye mum!" Angel called from the bottom of the stairs, lacing up her school shoes. She was wearing a plain white shirt with a crimson red tie, skinny black trousers and black converse. She stood up and pulled on her jacket, which was also black.
"Bye darling, have a good day!" Her mum called down to her. Angel lifted her bag and placed it on her shoulder, and walked out of the door, bracing herself for the walk to school. Before she reached the old wooden gate at the end of the path leading from her house, she heard another door shut. It was Andy. She realized he was wearing the same uniform as her, except he wore vans instead of converse. She saw he'd noticed her and waved. He waved back, and started walking over.
"Hey," he said, "do you mind if I walk with you?"
"No, it's fine," she answered, "I see you've been enrolled in Hell," she joked, as they started walking. "Haha, yeah," he smiled looking down at his uniform, then looking up at her. It was the first time they'd seen eye to eye. Angel was taken aback at the intensity of the blue in his eyes. She thought immediately of her dream and gasped.
"Oh, uh, are you okay?" Andy asked, noticing how shocked she looked. Angel nodded and turned her head away from him, 'damn it, Angel, stop it, you're so paranoid about everything,' she thought. She turned back to look at Andy again. 'It's fine,' she thought, 'it's not like he's not going to start chasing you through a forest!' She laughed nervously to herself. Andy smiled, and they continued on their walk to school.
