My names Jessica and I'm a junior at phs high school in Massachusetts . I turn 18 in April. I have black hair and normally stick to myself. Im labeled the emo girl at the school and Have been tormented for 5 years now but ever since my sister Emma died in a car accident 2 years ago things got worse.

It was now beginning September and things werent looking good.I've been self harming for 3 years and spend my days in my room by myself wishing I had my sister back . My parents hate who I am. As of now I'm an ony child and the only thig that gets me through my days is black veil brides and my best friend john Welcome to my shit life.

I got up and made my way to the bus. I saw all the kids talking with their friends as I climbed on sitting in the back by myself . I plugged my headphone into my iPhone and started playing legacy by black veil brides. My heart started to beat normal and i smiled a little as i started to calm down. After the song was over and knives and pens started up the bus appeared at my house. I got up and started walking when someone tripped me and I fell flat on my face knocking my earbuds out. Kids erupted in laughter.I got up and ran off the bus muttering fuck on my way out.

Once I got in my house I set my bag down ad went to climb my stairs.
"Hey sweetie can you come here please?" I heard my mom call out. I headed to the kitchen to see my parents sitting at the table smiling

" what do you need?" I asked smiling at ten as I sat down

" we'll we have to tell you something,were going to London for a few months to help your fathers uncle out but you can't come with us"

I stood frozen. They're going to leave me by myself?


" what? Wait then who am I staying with ?" I was confused at this point

" that's another thing , sweetie. I know you thought you and Emma were our only children but you have a brother , his names jake and he's 26 , well he's your half brother , your father had him before we got together, he used to live with us but his mother took him away when you were 1.weve kept In touch and you'll be staying with him and his friends while we are gone. ."

My mother had a look of worry as if I'd freak out . i didn't know what to think, I wasn't upset with my parents . I just wish I knew him before, but maybe it's be good for me.

" so when do you guys leave" I asked looking at them

" tomorrow. But jakes coming at 5 for you tonight and you'll move in two weeks he has a house in town." My dad said

Again I was taken back. He had a house in my town and I've never met him and all of the sudden I'm moving with him .

" I guess ill go pack? " I got up slowly. I ran to my room maybe it wouldn't be Bad escaping my hell of a school. I pulled out a duffle bag and put the little clothing I had , 6 pairs of skinny jeans , some band T-shirts , 4 sweatshirts and my band bracelets.

I packed my essentials, chargers,sketch book and 3 pairs of drumsticks with my drum Pad. I set the bag down and pulled on a batman zip up hoodie not wanting my brother to see my scars , just yet.

I sat on my bed realizing I had an hour to kill and started to listen to music and on my phone. After what only seemed like 10 minutes but was about an hour, I heard a knock on my door. They must have sent him up.

" come in" I said standing up

My heart pounded.

The door opened and I froze
