Jake has always been different his whole life. Being abandoned as a baby on the doorstep of his adoptive parents being one of the traits that had him branded a freak. Another was the huge black angel like wings inked into the skin of his back since he was a baby. It doesn't help that he can see dead people either, or talk to animals. And then there is Christian Mora, the boy Jake is madly in love with. Only one problem; Christian doesn't know this.

Christian Mora is an exiled demon, never allowed back into the depths of the Underworld. So he is reluctantly faced to join human society, putting on a facade of being a normal human. He goes to high school, gets semi good grades, has a couple of close friends, just a normal teenager. After a quick run in with a human named Jake, Christian begins to wonder what about Jake is so different from a normal human. Especially the sparks that coursed through his body, making his black heart begin to beat again.
