Before The Angels Fell

Chapter Thirty: Gone again

Rileys POV

I was no longer drowning within myself. It was like someone yanked me out from the bottom of the ocean. But I had only woken up.
The beeping sound increased in paced and cause several other machines to join in.
I sat upright in bed hyperventilating when I took in my surroundings.
My hands grabbed the railing to support my upper body. What was wrong with me?
Two nurses soon rushed into my room, one trying to tame the machines and the other making me lie back down.
"Do you feel dizzy?" She asked.
I nodded my head slightly, trying to understand what they were doing.
"What happened to me?" I asked, my voice sounding very course.
The nurse looked at me then to the other nurse.
"What's wrong? What did I do?" I said, feeling my eyes go wide.
"Miss James, you and Mr Sanders were involved in a car accident. Do you not have any memory of this?" She explained.
I stared into space for a moment, but I wasn't sure.
"What's the last thing you remember?" She asked me.
"I remember being in the bar, having a drink and then I passed out..."
"Miss James, you have been mixing alcohol with your anti-anxiety medication. Your room mate Kimber brought over your medication and they are a very strong dosage. Where did you get those?" The nurse asked.
"I took them when I was younger for my anxiety."
"So why did you take them now?"
"Cause my anxiety was coming back. I needed them!" I said starting to feel flustered.
"Okay, well, we had to pump your stomach due to the alcohol poisoning. At the moment we're keeping you hydrated and trying to flush out the medication. As for your injuries, nothing major. Your wrist is sprained and just a few stitches on arm also. How are you feeling right now?"
I was being bombarded with information and I wasn't sure how I felt, but as she asked the heart rate monitor hitched it's speed.
"I'm not really sure. At the moment I am feeling very anxious..."
"That's perfectly normal. You're just having withdrawal from your medication. You may also experience sweating, shaking, insomnia, confusion, increase heart rate and yes, your anxiety may worsen."
I was silent. I was trying to let it all sink in, but it was like my brain was rejecting it.
"Where's Kimber?" I said starting to feel myself shake. "I need her. I want to go home" I said trying to get the needles out of my skin.
"Riley, calm down. It's going to be okay. We can call her" the nurse said trying to restrain my hands.
"Let me go!" I yelled.
"Can I get some help in here?!" The nurse yelled out.
Two other nurses burst into the room.
"We can't give her a sedative" one said.
"Her heart rate is too high. We have to" said the other.
"Just to do it. She'll be fine."
"No, don't! I want to goo... Hommee..."
Gone again.

"Riley? Hey sweetie" someone whispered.
I opened my eyes a crack and someone was leaning over me. My vision started to clear and it was Kimber.
"Kimber?" I rasped.
"How you feeling?"
"Like shit. Can we go home?" I asked.
"Soon. A few more days the doctor said. Are you okay?"
"I have no idea. How long have I been in here?"
"Just over a week. Your car was totaled in the crash."
"What?!" I said in shock. "Who was driving my car?!"
"... Eli was. He was driving you here when you guys crashed. Did you not know that?" She said with worry written all over her face.
"I didn't know it was my car!" I said sitting up.
"We still have my car. We'll be fine. Just get some rest. Don't you wanna be better for when Andy comes home?"
"Oh my God Andy! He can't see me like this! He'll find out!" I panicked.
"It'll be okay" she said calmly stroking my arm.
I looked up at her and I could tell she was worried, but everything was going to be okay.
I widened my arms and pulled her in by the waist to hug her.
"I'm so sorry" I said into her stomach.
"It's okay. I know you didn't mean it. I gave Eli an ear full for you."
I giggled. "Thank you. Is he still here?"
"No. He was discharged a few days ago. He said to tell you sorry. Not that I believe him, but it's your call. Not judging."
"It's okay. I don't think I could forgive him for what he did. I have no car cause of him!"
"It'll be fine. I'll run the bar. You, take some time off and rest. Spend some time with Andy. I'm sure he missed you."
"I did miss you" said a beautiful deep voice that made me melt.
I let go of Kimber to see Andy standing by the doorway.
"Andy, what are you doing here?" I asked nervous and excited.
"Seeing you" he said giving me his crooked smile that would drive any girl insane. "Kimber told me everything, so don't worry about explaining anything. I just want to help you get better."
I glared a Kimber.
"Hey, you don't even know the whole story. He's better off hearing it from me where it will actually make sense" she shrugged.
Andy came over to me and wrapped his arms around me.
"I'm going to make sure you never feel that way again" he said hugging me tightly.

No I don't remember. I haven't reread the other stories and its been so long since I first read them. Lol. I'm going to read them again soon though. But still, even if I know it's not supposed to work, that doesn't make it not give me feels. Lol

I know Ashley is weird. Im just trying to establish a connection with Ashley and Riley without anything actually happening. Cause remember that Andy and Riley arent meant to work out. Thats why everything has to go wrong.
