Before The Angels Fell

Chapter Twenty One: Movie night

Rileys POV

I anxiously glanced at the clock waiting for it to hit 6.
"Jeez, Riley, just take an early minute. It's not like we're gonna get any busier" Kimber said as she watched me watch the clock.
"No, I can't leave now. Then Andy will know I left early" I complained.
"Wouldn't he then think that you want to spend time with him?"
"I do, but I don't wanna seem clingy. He is seriously... perfect" I mused.
"Honestly, he seems like the clingy one. Asking to see you all the time..."
"I don't know, but I like it. The more time he spends with me, the better. I really like him Kimber. I have never felt this way about anyone and it's not because he's famous" I said.
"Well there has to be something between you two."
I sighed as I glanced at the clock again.
"Not long now" Kimber said leaving me to my thoughts.
I continued to polish glasses until the phone started ringing in my office.
When I finally got off the phone it was 6:24.
"Shit" I said to myself when I saw the time.
I quickly grabbed my stuff said a quick goodbye to Kimber and left for Andy's house.

"Please tell me you're not waiting out here for me?" I said as I got out of my car.
"No, I wanted a cigarette and decided to come out the front for a change" he said innocently.
"Sure sure" I said sarcastically.
"So I rented some movies for tonight. I wasn't sure what you liked so I got a bit of everything" he shrugged.
"What did you get?"
"Uhh, I got How To Train Your Dragon, Tangled, Harry Potter 7, Paranormal Activity 2? If you like horror... Uhh, Valentine's Day, but please don't make me watch that, not a rom com fan. Also whatever else I have, which is mostly Batman movies and cartoons."
"Well, How to Train Your Dragon is like my all time favourite movie, so we're watching that first" I said excitedly.
Andy smiled his crooked smile and butted out his cigarette. "Sounds good to me. I haven't seen it yet."
"What?! Oh, you are going to love it. How can you not love Toothless?!"
"Toothless?" He said as we walked inside.
"You'll see" I commented and made my way to the lounge room.
"Do want a drink or anything?" Andy asked before sitting down.
"Whatever you're having" I said sweetly.
"Okay" he smirked.
I raised an eyebrow at him as he exited the room and left me to myself. I got up off the couch and had a closer look at his movie collection on the shelf. He had a lot of those old classic horror movies like Dracula and Frankenstein. I wasn't a huge fan of those, but I could deal with horror movies.
"Whiskey?" Andy said entering the room.
"Thanks" I said taking from his hand.
Andy set down a bowl of popcorn and quickly darted back out the room.
"You were right. You have a lot of Batman" I called to him as I continued to look through his collection.
"Well everyone has a favourite. What's yours?" He said coming in with pizza in one hand and his drink in the other.
"Hmm, I don't really know. I don't really have one" I mused.
Andy gasped sarcastically.
"I never really connected to characters as such. My parents were my biggest influence in life and when it wasn't them it was music."
"Well at least I know you have good taste" Andy chuckled.
"I suppose. I like a lot of Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Bullet For My Valentine. A lot of punk rock, early noughties bands."
I noticed Andy roll his eyes.
"Hey! I saw that! Don't judge me! You have no idea how many times I wanted to yell to my dad 'sorry I can't be perfect'" I said feeling sad.
"Why?" Andy said, all of a sudden sympathetic.
"Just... It was hard when it was just me and my dad" I said taking a sip of my whiskey.
"Did your mom leave?"
"She died when I was 12" I said skulling the rest of my drink.
"Oh my God. Riley, I'm so sorry" he said throwing his arms around me.
"It's okay. I've had nine years to deal with it and I'm glad I've started over" I said hugging him back.
We stayed like that for a minute. A long amazing minute in each others arms. I felt Andy start to slowly pull away and kiss my cheek.
"Why don't we start the movie?" He smiled.
I smiled back and nodded.
Andy put the movie in and we cuddled up on the couch.
It was nice to be in someone's arms, protecting me. I felt Andy kiss my neck or my cheek every now and then and it just made me feel so at peace.
The movie ended, but it was still early.
"Are you up for Parnormal Activity 2?" I said.
"Well, I've seen the first one, so why not?" He smiled nervously.
"Are you scared?" I said in a baby voice.
"No! It just freaks me out."
"You'll be fine Biersack" I said putting the movie.
"Okay, Jamie, well done come cuddling up to me when you're scared."
"Fine" I challenged.
We started the movie, both of us slightly on edge. We looked over at each other multiple times with scared looks on our faces.
As we jumped at every little thing that moved we were inching closer together.
"Why did you make me watch this?" Andy asked when the main character got pulled down the stairs.
I gulped "Cause were gonna watch it no matter what" I said grabbing his hand.
When the movie was finally over, we were clinging onto each other, terrified of a shadow.
"Well I'm glad that's over" I said slowly removing myself from Andy.
"Told you you'd be scared" he said, then the phone rang and we both jumped.
Andy didn't answer it at first.
"Just answer the damn phone. We're just on edge. I'll get us a drink" I said heading into the kitchen, but I was followed. Andy watched me as he answered his phone.
"Hello?... Oh hey Ash, what's up?... I can't right now... I'm busy... I'm with Riley... Oh shut up... Okay... I'll see you tomorrow... Okay, bye" he said then hung up.
"Everything okay?" I said handing him a whiskey.
"Ashley forgets I have a life. But all good, he just wanted to hang out. We hang out every other day. Oh by the way, Ashley is having this huge party before we go to the UK, do you want to come with me?" Andy asked with his million dollar smile.
"How could I say no to this face?" I said pinching his cheeks.
"It'll be awesome. Ashley throws some of the best parties. His house is huge."
"I'm sure. Full of hot blonde women" I said sarcastically.
"Oh, but it is. Not my taste, but I stay for the drinks."
I smiled and shook my head. "So, shall we go watch an extremely happy preppy movie so we forget what we just watched?" I asked.
"What did we just watch?" Andy said jokingly.

Notes

I'm taking the time to develop their relationship before I add in a whole bunch of time skips.
This is gonna be good.
Already articulating all the things that can go wrong and how it all falls apart.

@tinamoli
No I don't remember. I haven't reread the other stories and its been so long since I first read them. Lol. I'm going to read them again soon though. But still, even if I know it's not supposed to work, that doesn't make it not give me feels. Lol

I know Ashley is weird. Im just trying to establish a connection with Ashley and Riley without anything actually happening. Cause remember that Andy and Riley arent meant to work out. Thats why everything has to go wrong.

Dumb Andy for not stopping her or following her back! Though she did overreact. Doomed! :(
