He Has A Heart Of Fire

"'CAUSE THERE'S NOTHING SURGERY CAN DO, WHEN I BREAK YOUR LITTLE HEART IN TWO!"
I was headbanging and shouting along to All Time Low in my car, the cd player probably a little too loud. It was a nice day today, so I was in a good mood.
The lights turned green and I sped forward in my 1963 Ford Falcon convertible. God, I loved this car. I spent several years saving up for this baby and she was finally mine.

I drove towards my favourite coffee place in my little hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, The Bow Tie Cafe, while continuing to blast All Time Low. I pulled up in the car park, and took off my sunglasses that were shielding my eyes from the late afternoon sun. I went inside ordered my usual and sat down with my favourite book at the minute, Allegiant.
A waitress came over with my order, a cinnamon hot chocolate with marshmallows. I thanked her and began to add milk. The radio was on in the cafe and the song being played caught my attention.
"That was Rebel Love Song by Black Veil Brides," said the presenter, a bit overly enthusiastic. "Now for a chat with our special guest, Black Veil Brides frontman, Andy Biersack!"
Andy Biersack?! Andy Biersack's songs were playing on the radio?! No way!

Andy had been my friend in high school, we both liked the same music, we both had the same style, and we were both unpopular.
We were friends for a couple years but after we finished high school and I went to NYU, we completely lost contact. We were both a little nerdy and he had this band that I never really listened to, I never though they'd be played on the radio!
He's clearly done well for himself, I thought, while I'm here in Cincinnati working as a teaching assistant. Well, it's good for some, I guess.

I finished up my hot chocolate, left a tip for the waitress and went to get back into my car, All Time Low coming back on as soon as I started her up.
I drove back to my apartment that I shared with my best friend and roommate, Tazmyn. We've been best friends since we were 5, now we were living together and trying to get by.
I unlocked the door, "Taz?" I called. "You home?"
"In here!" I heard from the kitchen, as well as the kettle finishing a boil. I walked in and she pulled an extra mug out for me.
"Hey, do you remember Andy Biersack from school?" I asked.
"That weird kid you hung out with? Yeah, I remember him, didn't particularly like him though." She replied, scrunching her nose slightly.
"I know, but he wasn't that bad. Anyway, he's in this band, I heard one of their songs on the radio today, apparently they've got like 3 albums and they're huge."
"Oh. Well you learn something new every day."

We left it at that and sat down to watch Orange Is The New Black.
