This Is Our Sweet Blasphemy

Katherine's POV:

''C'mon, cherry pie! Time to rise and shine!'' Mom said and I groaned, turning on the other side of the bed.

''Five more minutes, mom.''

''Not gonna happen. Get ready, I made you your favorite breakfast.''

My eyes snapped open and I looked at her grinning.

''You made me Nutella pancakes?''

''Yes, now get out of bed.'' She said and kissed my forehead.

Mom exited the room and I got out off bed. I headed for the shower and I shivered when the cold water hit my body. I quickly rubbed my skin with my favorite almond shower gel and I washed my hair with a shampoo that had the same flavor. Once I finshed the shower, I brushed my teeth and I wrapped myself in a towel as I blow dried my hair.

Today was the first day of my third year of highschool. I hoped it would be a normal day but I couldn't help but feel that something's gonna happen. I didn't know what, I just had the feeling. My phone rang and I turned the hair dryer off as I checked the caller ID.

''Hey, Jules.'' I answered smiling.

''Hey, Kat. Are you up?'' Juliet's cheery voice rang in my ears.

''Yeah, I'm about to get dressed. Don't tell me you're ready.''

''Bitch, please! I was born ready. I'm dressed but I don't know what shoes I should wear.'' she said thoughtfully.

''Any outfit works with cowboy boots! Too bad you hate them.'' I laughed as I opened my closet.

''Ugh! I swear to God, you and my brother are the only persons who actually like them.'' She ssaid pissed.

''Just wear your heels or your flat sandals. Those work too.'' I answered pulling out some matching underwear and bra, white jeans and a blue top.

''Hmm, you're right! Anyway, I'll see you at school, okay?''

''Yeah, see you there.'' I said and I hung up.

I got fully dressed and I grabbed my brown cowboy boots. I took a buttoned shirt in the same color and I did my makeup lightly. I brushed my blonde curls and I grabbed my bag before I exited my room. I practically danced in the kitchen at the sight of the pancakes. I hugged mom tight and I started to eat as she poured me a glass of milk.

''Mom, I'm leaving. Bye!'' I heard my brother yell and I stood up.

''Wait a minute! Who's gonna drive me to school?'' I yelled after him.

He walked inside the kitchen and I frowned seeing him. He changed so much, I could barely recognize him. My brother used to be my best friend, my hero, my everything. In the last years, he changed.

He started to wear black a lot, his hair was growing past his shoulders and he started to listen to all sorts of metal bands. He also got some tattoos and started to play electric guitar, which sounded way too aggresive for my taste.

He was acting like an outcast. He became one of the weirdos. Just like those kids at school who wear their black bangs over their eyes and listen to that crappy noise they call music. I couldn't understand how he could change so much and he didn't explain me. We were barely talking to each other and usually, when we did, we fought. Our bond was long gone but he didn't seem to care.

''You can walk, Katherine. I'm busy today.'' He said coldly and kissed mom's cheek.

''But it's far.'' I whined.

''Then call Juliet. She can drive you. Bye!' He replied and walked out of the kitchen.

I looked angry after him and I felt my appetite disappear. Mom sighed and she took my plate to the sink.

''Why is he always acting like this?'' I spat pissed.

''Maybe because you're not trying to understand him.'' Mom said giving me a small smile.

''I can't! He is acting like a freak, mom!'' I yelled angry.

''Watch your tone, young lady! Your brother is not a freak. He is just different.'' she lectured me.

''Whatever! I'm going to school.'' I said and I kissed mom's cheek before grabbing my phone and texting Juliet that I was on my way to her house.

I was far beyond pissed. ''He is just different!'' I didn't want him to be different! I wanted him to be normal! I wanted my brother back! This wasn't him!

How the heck can we be so different?! I'm playing violin and piano and he plays that devious instrument! I'm popular and he is one of the outcasts! I'm blonde and he dyed his hair black! We don't even look alike anymore.

Well, at least, I wasn't the only one in that situation. Juliet was too. her step brother, Ashley was Jake's best friend and a total weirdo too. Even though, what he did for Juliet was pretty admirable. His dad and her mother died in car accident when Juliet was 13 and he was 20.

Ever since, he took care of everything. He bought her a car when she turned 16 and he was working as a tattoo artist to support themselves. But he was still creep! From what Juliet told me, he had an habit to get wasted and have sex with random girls every night, even though he tried to hide it from Juliet.

''Can you believe that he told me to walk all the way to school?!'' I asked pissed once I got to Juliet's house.

''What a douchebag!'' She agreed.

''I know, right?''

''Keep your voice down, Ashley's still asleep.'' Juliet said as she did her makeup.

''And he has another slut over?'' I asked knowingly.

''Actually, this the third time he brings her. I think her name is Kina or something like that.''

''Wow! Maybe he really likes her.'' I said surprised.

''Nah, I think that she's just using her mouth good. They had sex the whole night and it wasn't quite.'' She spat disgusted.

''Eww! Too much information!'' I agreed.

We exited her house and we got in her car. We listened to Taylor's Swift new album as Juliet drove to school. She quickly found an empty spot near Matt's car and I saw our boyfriends waving at us. Matt wrapped me in his arms and kissed me lovingly as soon as I got near him while Aaron did the same with Juliet. I blushed and Matt smiled at my shyness.

Just as we were about to get inside the school, a silver car parked a few cars away from Juliet's catching my attention. I haven't seen it before and I motioned for my friends to go inside as I waited to see who the driver was.

A tall guy with long jet black hair, just like my brother's, stepped out of the car but he had his back to me. I sighed, knowing that we just got another freak in the school and I wanted to turn on my heels and go inside. I stopped dead in my tracks as soon as the guy turned around and faced me.

He was wearing ripped black jeans, converses and a shirt with some rock band that I don't know. His leather jacket was drapped over his shoulders, making him look almost evil. My heart skipped a few beats when I saw his face though.

He didn't have his bangs in his eyes and I was able to see the deep blue they held. They weren't a dark blue like mine, they were bright, like the sky. He had high cheeks and his jaws were srongly sculpted. I noticed that he had a lip ring in his bottom lip and a nose one in his left nostril. I stared amazed at how tall he was until Juliet snapped me out of my thoughts.

''Why are you staring at the new freak? Are you becoming one of them?'' She laughed as she grabbed my arm.

''He has pretty eyes...''' I said as we headed to the hallway.

''Yeah, but he has two holes in his face. And long hair. And maybe he is covered in tattoos.'' Juliet answered grimacing.

''Yeah, maybe...'' I said thoughtfully as I headed towards my locker.
