The Dalmatian licked his face to awaken him while he dragged himself painfully out of the edge of the rainforest after being bitten by some kind of mite and passing in and out of consciousness.

Ashley finally reaches the local clinic, the only one around for miles, and discovers the whites of his eyes have turned red.

He’s clinging to life but the Dalmatian wasn’t allowed in the clinic so he leaves the puppy in the care of a bright eyed passerby.

He then falls madly in love with Bright Eyed Passerby after surviving an incurable form of a virus with unknown origins.
