Prologue

"Get the hell out! Now!!" I had tears streaming down my face, so I grabbed my bag and rushed out the front door. I fucking knew I shouldn't have told him! I mentally killed myself as I ran down the drive, then turn the street. I feel gripped the twenty dollars he had given me in my fists. I then so so stopped running. I threw the money into an empty lunch bag that was in my Ponyo bag.
I walked into the breezeway minute market, going into the bathroom.
I sat on the toilet, crying my heart out, and hating myself even more than I already did. Eventually I was able to stand up, but only after someone had knocked on the bathroom door.
"You alright miss?" I replied, my voice shaky and cracked.
"Y-yeah. I'll be out in a moment." I crossed the small room to the mirror. My face was red and blotchy, and the not-so-faint bruise left by my father's hand stood out. My eyeliner and mascara ran down my face. My hair was matted to my forehead by sweat and tears, making it hard to tell my hair from my eyebrows. I cleaned myself up, applying extra concealer to the bruise.
I let my Ghibli bag hang from my shoulder, and walked around the almost empty store. I picked out a few Monster energy drinks, which were 'buy two get one free'. So I did. I also grabbed a somewhat healthy plain bagel covered with cream cheese. I dropped my goods onto the counter, then pulled my money out of my bag.
"Is that all?" the bored blonde teenager asked, worry hinted in his simple blue eyes. I wished my life could be as simple as his seeing orbs. I shook my head, throwing a pack of mint gum onto the small pile.
"Can I have some Marlboro please?" The guy sighed, knowing that he should've said no. He nodded quickly, grabbing a pack and scanning it first.
For once, I was glad to be pitied.

Notes

This is only the prologue, and yes, it's short. Expect short chapters though. I have noooo frickin idea when I'll be updating, so don't expect regular updates.
