Welcome To My Life

The Hangout Sesh

"You haven't had anything to drink right?" Sylvie whined as she opened his car door.

"No. Stop being a baby and get in my car!" He chuckled. She groaned, plopping down in the front seat.

They had both escaped without their friends noticing and were now in Andy's black Cadillac.

"Where are we going?" She asked, buckling her seatbelt.

"Who cares? Let's just drive!" He grinned, backing out of the parking space and pulling out onto the open road.

They were silent for a few moments, just listening to his playlist. The song switched to something called "Smoke And Mirrors- Demo". She noticed a small smirk on Andy's face as he sang along.

"You like this band?" She asked.

"This is my band." He said, biting his lip to keep from laughing as her eyes widened.

"What!? You're so good!" She exclaimed. "I'm jealous, I wish I could sing!"

"I bet you can and you're just hiding it from me." He smirked over at her. She scoffed, a smile on her face.

"You don't want to hear me try to sing." She jested.

"I bet you rock." He chuckled.

"I bet your ears would bleed." He looked over at her, his throat tightening as he saw the way her nose ring glinted in the light. "Better keep your eyes on the road, Biersack."

"Can't help it. I like to look at beautiful things." He smirked. She blushed, looking down at her lap.

They drove in silence with the sound of the music playing in the background.

"So photography.." He said, looking over at her.

"It's the art of pictures." She giggled as he rolled his eyes.

"I understand." He chuckled. "What made you get into it?"

She smiled, biting her lip. "One day when I was little girl, I took a picture on my moms camera. It was of a tiny dragonfly and it came out so well." She shook her head. "I loved it so much, I had my mom blow it up and put it one of those little canvas prints and hang it on my wall. Now that I look back on it, it really wasn't that great but something just caught my eye. Everyone that ever sees it thinks it's so beautiful and asks where I got it but little do they know a seven year old took it."

Andy chuckled, "That's amazing." His gorgeous blue eyes twinkled as they reached a stoplight and he glanced over at her. "I'm going to call you Dragonfly."

She smirked. "Oh yeah?"

"Yep." He laughed. "You're beautiful like a Dragonfly too."

"Nah I'm not but thank you." She chuckled.

"I think you are." He said.

"So if I'm Dragonfly what are you?" She said, crossing her arms. He thought for a moment as she looked over at him. Sylvie loved this- she adored talking to him more than anything and she couldn't believe she had gotten so lucky!

"We'll wait on figuring that out, Dragonfly." He laughed.

"Sure.."

"Mmm." Sylvie giggled, taking a big bite of ice cream. Andy smiled at her from across the table as he ate some of his own. "It's been so long since I've had ice cream."

"I eat it..a lot." Andy chuckled.

"I can tell." She smirked, trying to contain her laughter.

"I weigh like 120 pounds!" He exclaimed.

"Maybe.." She said, her voice light.

"I know how much I weigh." He said, leaning back and propping his feet up in the chair across from him.

"Mhm." She smirked.

They'd been hanging out for three hours and it was now midnight. They had a massive hankering for some ice cream and luckily had found a shop that was still open.

Sylvie was absolutely shocked that she had found someone that was so much like her. This Andy guy? He was amazing. He made her laugh her ass off and they loved hanging out with each other already.

A great friendship was brewing and both of them absolutely couldn't wait.

"Come on, let's go." Andy grinned, taking her hand and pulling her out of the shop.
Sylvie found that she really liked his hand in her's.

They drove and drove until Andy parked in front of a beach front park. Sylvie giggled as he jumped out and ran straight for a swing. He was a giant kid and damn did she wish she could be like that again.

So..carefree.

Not worrying about what she would do later on in life and living in the moment.

She chased after him, and sat down on the swing next to him. "So this is what you had in mind?"

"Oh no. I just drove until I found a somewhat cool looking place.." He shrugged.

There it was again, so fucking carefree!

"I used to love this old park in my hometown. It was huge, with all of these tall hills everyone used to go sledding on and it had this great playground with one of those fun sliding things that looked like monkey bars but didn't take as much effort." Sylvie laughed out loud at the memory. "My best friend, Poppy, and I used to drink our asses off and then go to that park every weekend. It was just us against the world man.."

"She sounds great." Andy smiled over at her, linking their hands again.

"She is." Sylvie agreed. "I miss her a lot."

"Where is she now?" Andy asked.

"New York City." Sylvie swallowed, wishing her best friend could be here. They met in preschool and had been inseparable ever since. Poppy would have loved Andy and she only hoped they'd be able to meet. "We moved together with our friend Aaron after senior year and unfortunately, she has a pretty stable job out there that she doesn't want to leave."

Andy frowned, this girl probably only had one person out here in the big town of LA. He would change that as soon as possible. "Well now you have another friend." He squeezed her tiny hand and she looked up at him, her eye shaded by her hair.

"Good to know." She giggled. Andy became suddenly infatuated by her look. She was so professional looking at the office but now he could tell that she had a really cool blonde streak through her hair that resembled Sweeney Todd's almost.

"Your hair is so cool." Andy shook his head.

"Thanks." She chuckled. "Fan of Sweeney Todd?"

"Hell yeah! But Batman is the best!" Andy grinned.

"No arguments there. My dad loves Batman, it's all he would ever let me watch when I was a kid. That and old replays of Nirvana concerts." She chuckled.

"Ah! Nirvana fan?" He asked.

She smirked down at her lap and began pushing her swing so she flew high in the air. Andy swallowed as he saw her eyes close and the wind hit her hair so it blew back from her face.

She was possibly the most gorgeous girl he'd ever seen.

"My dad played me Nirvana when I was a baby. It was my first word.." She laughed, shaking her head. "When I was three they took me to a concert the same year Kurt died and to this day I can still kind of remember it. We were in the nose bleed seats and they bought me this huge oversized Nirvana shirt that I still wear sometimes."

"Wow." Andy grinned that same grin that gave Sylvie a mini heart attack every time she saw it.

"My parents are pretty fucking awesome." She giggled. "What about you? Nirvana fan?"

"I respect them but no, I never really got into them. I was into Motley Crüe and Kiss when I was younger but then grew up into liking Alkaline Trio, The Damned, AFI, Rancid.." He chuckled.
"Nirvana was too mainstream for my old shitty self besides they took away from glam rock. I was one of those "fuck grunge!" people.."

"Ah, damn did I hate those people." Sylvie laughed.

They spent hours, talking and swinging. Eventually they went down the slide, did the monkey bars, everything.

Sylvie had never felt so free and it was just the first night.
