Welcome To My Life

How Can You Share A Bunk With Broken Ribs?

Sylvie leaned against the banister of the balcony in Andy's apartment. They had two days before he would go on Warped Tour and leave her all alone. Thankfully, he had healed a little but he still hurt with every move he made.

A pair of slender arms wrapped tightly around her waist and she smiled, leaning her head back against his chest. "Shouldn't you be resting?"

"I'll be okay." He whispered, kissing the back of her head.

The view of a perfect June sky in sunny Los Angeles was all the couple could see as they looked out over the balcony. His arms wrapped tightly around her waist as she leaned into his chest.

"I'm going to miss you.." She breathed out as his chin rested on her head.

"I'll be back before you know it." He whispered in her ear.

"But.." She shook her head. "But we just fell in love. I just found myself again..." He looked down at her with sad, crystal blue eyes that had become all too familiar.

"I know." He whispered. She sighed and looked up at him. "Come with me."

"What?"

"Come with me."

Sylvie knew he wanted her to be there and God- she did too. But they only had two days! How could she pack? She wouldn't have everything she needed and what about work!?

"Andy.." She shook her head.

"No, no. Sylvie!" He groaned, spinning her around to face him. "Don't do that! You're always telling me that you want to be you again. That you want to find yourself and from what you've told me, the old Sylvie would do this! You can photograph us all summer- that's something you've wanted to do forever and now you're willing to give that up?"

She just sighed and looked away from him. "It's hard when you have to be an adult. Make money.."

"Fuck that! I'm making money now, I'll take care of you. You can be in between the barricade and the stage all summer and then tour with me in the winter too. Be our photographer, quit your fucking job. Sylvie, please.." He whispered, looking right into her electrifying blue eyes that he loved so much.

She swallowed, shoving down all her fear. Everything inside that told her to say no, all of the rational parts of her mind and she laughed. Her head shook to and fro as he quirked his brow, a smirk on his pierced lips. "Okay."

"Really!?" He grinned, standing up a little straighter.

"Yes, really. You're right. I need to find myself again.." She smiled. "And you help with that." He pushed his lips to hers, licking and biting a bit.

"Only cause you love me." He giggled.

"Yeah, yeah. You like to hear me say it too much.." She chuckled. "I should go home and pack I guess."

"You should." He chuckled, leaning in to kiss her forehead. She pulled away and walked back into the apartment. She helped him get settled on the couch, handing him his pain killers before grabbing her purse. "Hey Sylv?" She turned to look at him.

"What's up?"

"I'm really proud of you for doing this." He smiled, meaning every syllable of what he had said. She was a shy a person and for her to come on the road with him for three months? That was big.

"Thanks, babe." She mumbled. "Love you."

"Love you, too."

"WHAT!?" Poppy and Aaron yelled in sync.

"You're leaving for the entire summer?" Aaron whined.

"You can't! I just got here!" Poppy shook her head, tears falling down her cheeks.

"P, it's not like I'm dying.." Sylvie shook her head. "It's a job. Andy's friends with Kevin Lyman and he said if I photograph a few bands everyday I'll get paid. Do you know what that means!? I've got a paying job for photography!"

"On the road with your boyfriend." Aaron said, crossing his arms.

"Why can't you guys just be happy for me?" Sylvie groaned, shading her face with her arm. "If this was happening to either of you, I'd be happy."

They both went silent at this and glanced over at each other. Their faces showed guilt and they knew she was right. This was the opportunity of a lifetime for their best friend and her boyfriend gave it to her. Deep down, both of them knew they were jealous of the perfect relationship Sylvie had found.

"You're right." Poppy mumbled after a minute or so of silence. "We're being assholes."

Sylvie laughed, slipping her arms around her friends shoulders. "I knew you guys would come around."

"You better bring me some cool souvenir!" Aaron chuckled.

"Of course I will!" She grinned.

"Wait.." Poppy said, a dazed look in her eye. "How will you share a bunk with broken ribs?"

All three of the friends burst out into laughter. "I guess we'll be extra careful."

"God, what about Rayna?" Aaron laughed. "VA Beach Warped Tour!"

"Oh no!" Sylvie groaned, falling down on Poppy's lap. "She's going to want to meet them."

"You bet she is. That's all adolescent minds think about!" Poppy giggled. "Remember us with Rivers from Weezer?"

"I think my room back home is still covered in posters of him." Sylvie chuckled.

"All of her friends will want to meet him too. Not to mention your parents." Poppy raised her brow.

"Fuck!" Sylvie exclaimed. "I didn't even think about that."

"You've already met his mom so you don't need to worry about that." Aaron laughed.

"This is not funny! What if they all scare him off?"

"Sylv, if that was the case the Skype call would have done it. Dude is head over heels for you." Poppy said, smiling a bit. She was happy for her friend, Andy was a good guy. Not like Dustin- fake nice. He was real nice and he really loved Sylvie. That's what mattered.

"I guess you're right."

A knock sounded against the door and they all smirked over at her. "I wonder who that is?" Poppy laughed.

"He can't drive!" Sylvie exclaimed.

"Yeah, like that would stop him!" Aaron jumped up and answered the door laughing as he saw the poor guy holding his side. "Hello, Andy..."

"Babe, why didn't you just call!? I would have picked you up." Sylvie came running to him.

"Because I wanted to drive. I'm fine." He smirked that perfect smirk that made her knees go weak. When did her life become so perfect?

"Whatever you say." She leaned up to peck his lips and led him inside.

"Why hello there best friend stealer." Poppy smirked as he held her close to him.

"I see you've told them." Andy chuckled.

"Yeah and good luck meeting Rayna.." Aaron squealed as Sylvie shoved him and widened her eyes. "Sorry.."

"Yeah, I figured VA would be a hard one this year." Andy chuckled. Sylvie smiled, helping him to the couch and cuddling against him.

"She won't bother you. I promise." She laughed. He smiled, grunting a bit in pain.

"You two have to stop making me feel so single." Poppy grinned.

"That's why we're leaving for three months!" Sylvie said making the entire room burst into laughter. She looked up at Andy to see him smiling softly down at her. She couldn't help but notice that twinkle in his eye that made her knees go weak. He loved her and she was beginning to really see that.

"We're going to miss you, Sylv." Aaron said, taking her hand.

"I'll miss you guys too."
