Before The Angels Fell

Rileys POV

"A-a date? With you?" I asked in shock.
"Yeah."
"B-but, I-I'm me a-and you're you" I stammered.
"And? I like you, I'm sure you like me" he said giving me his gorgeous crooked smile.
I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs with excitement, but we would never end well.
"Andy... I would want nothing more than to go on a date with you, but... This doesn't happen to people like me. I'm a nobody."
"So? You're a somebody to me. Someone I actually want to get to know. So Miss James, would you please do me the honour of going on a date with me?" He asked, smiling cutely at me.
I felt my cheeks warm as I blushed and tried to hide my face.
"What did I tell you about hiding your face?" Andy said with slight frustration. He grabbed my hands and made me lean across the bar so we were face to face. "So what do you say?"
I sighed and looked up into his glowing blue eyes. "Okay, I will go on a date with you."
A grin broke across his face and he leaned in and kissed me.
"I'll pick you up later then" he whispered when he pulled away.
"But you don't know where I live. How you gonna pick me up smartass?" I said slyly.
He thought for a second, then held a finger up at me while pulling out his phone. He dialed a number then put his phone to his ear.
"Hey CC" he said after a moment.
"Could you do me a favour and ask that girl Kimber, you met the other night, where she lives? Cause I need to know for Riley" he said smoothly. "Okay, thanks" he said then hung up. "Done" he said to me.
"Done... What? Are you using my friend to get my address?" I asked with sarcastic outrage.
He was about to say something, but then he phone beeped. He quickly checked it and slid it back in his pocket.
"Easy, you're not far from here. Are ready to go?"
"Go where?" I asked confused.
"Home. It's like 3 am."
"What?! Fuck! I better get home. Kimber is probably worried."
"Do you want me to drive you?" Andy asked.
"It's okay, I have my car."
"Okay, I'll follow you."
"Why?"
"It's late... And you live in a sketchy part of town."
"No I don't. It's so quiet."
"Well, I'm following you anyways."
"Fine" I said going into the office and grabbing my stuff.
I locked the front door and Andy followed me out the back door to the car park.
"That's your car?" He said in shock.
"Yeah.. So?"
"It's a shit box" he commented.
"Hey! It's my shit box. It's all I could afford at the time. It does the job" I shrugged.
"What? Your dad couldn't fork out some money to help you buy a better car?" He said sarcastically.
"Uhh, no. He was busy wasting my pay checks on alcohol" I said trying to sound up beat.
Andy's face dropped when the words left my lips. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry. I didn't know."
"It's okay. I never gave him all of it."
"I just feel so bad now. Fuck. Uhh, how's your dad now?"
"Dead. Shot himself. That's when I decided it time to leave Vegas."
Andy's face dropped again, then I felt his arms wrap around me. "I'm sorry" he murmured.
"It's okay" I said hugging him back.
He pulled away slightly so he could look down at my face. His lips kissed my forehead, then he leaned down to kiss my lips.
"Do you have any family left?" He asked when he let go of me.
"No. I'm an only child and I never really met anyone else. It was always just us. A happy little family. Then a not so happy family. Then just me" I said getting my keys out.
"Riley... I'm so sorry."
"Andy, stop. It's okay. I've made peace with it all. And honestly, look at my life now. I own a bar, I live in a decent apartment, I have my best friend and look who I'm talking to. You have nothing to be sorry for cause I'm happy. Happier than I've ever been" I ranted.
Andy gave me a small smile while shaking his head. "You continue to surprise me. I'll meet you at yours" he said pecking me on the cheek and going off towards his car.
I sighed and smiled. He was perfect.

As I parked my car at my building I noticed Andy had beaten me here. I got out of my car and made my way to the entrance where Andy was waiting.
"Okay, I'm home safe. You satisfied?"
"No. You're not home. Your apartment is up there. Come on, I'll walk you."
I sighed as I unlocked the door and made my way to the stairwell.
"So are you working later today?" Andy asked.
"No, Kimber's got the shift. Why?"
"Just making our date plans" He grinned.
"I'm officially worried. Do I have to wear something specific?"
"Nahh, just casual."
I sighed loudly as I reached my door. "Yep, definitely worried now."
I started to unlock my door, when it unlocked itself and opened.
"Where the fuck have you been?! I texted you an hour ago! I've been so worri..." She trailed off when she saw Andy. "Oh, hi Andy, didn't know you were here" she said nervously.
"Hi Kimber. Nice to see you again" Andy said politely.
"So Andy, uhh, I'll see you later then?" I asked.
"Yeah, uhh, be ready by 12?"
"12?! Why so early?"
"I have the day planned. Better get some sleep" he joked as he pecked me on the cheek and started walking back down the corridor.
"What the hell?! Why were you with Andy?!" Kimber said as she pulled me into the apartment.
"He wants to go on a date with me..."
