I stared out of the window, at all the clouds. The further away we got from home the lighter that clouds got which was a blessing, but sadly deep down I knew that it wouldent last for long. I looked in the rear view mirror at Alice. She was in the back of the car, lying down, wraped in her wings. I smiled, and looked at my phone for the time. It was 11:45, and I sighed, looking at Andy. I could see how tired he was, running on edrelin. "Sweetie.." I said, grabbing his hand, and he looked at me with tired eyes. "Yeah?"
"Come on, lets pull over and book into a hotel. Your tired, and We can't keep driving forever."
"Are you sure? I mean, what if the shadows come?"
"I don't think they can move that fast, and as long as no one tells them where we are we should be fine." I said, and he nodded, pulling off the moterway, and into a hotel.

We booked in for two nights, and we carried the bags up, and Alice. I gently tucked her into the single bed. I looked at the beautiful child for a moment, how perfect she was. I sighed, turning out the lights, and walking into the other room. I saw Andy lying on the bed, with a pair of Batman PJ bottoms on, and no shirt. I smiled, and picked up all his clothes off the floor, putting them in a suitcase, before putting on my PJ's and climbing onto the bed beside him. His eyes fluttered open, and he wrapped his arms around me. I smiled, and nuzzled into his chest, listening to his heart beat. "Andy.."
"Yeah?"
"Are we going to be ok? I mean, we can't run forever."
"Well we'll keep running until the time is right to face our fears."
"But Andy, they actually scare me. They killed my mom and I couldent bare it if they hurt you or Alice."
"They wont, because I wont let them."
"Nothing stops them and-"
"Hey sweetie, listen, were going to be fine, were going to get through this together." He said, kissing the top of my head. I sighed, and kised his chest. He chuckled, and looked at me with his piercing blue eyes.

"Nothing bad is going to happen, I promise." He said, and suddenly there was a scream from Alice's room. We both shot up and ran to the door, flicking the light on. I saw a shadow leaning over her bed, looking at her, curiously. "Hey!" I yelled,and he turned to look at me with his yellow eyes. Suddenly, I felt my eyes start to burn, and my gums started to ache. I ran over to him and sunk my teeth into his neck, causing him to scream, and fall to the floor dead. My eyes stopped burning, and gums stopped aching. Andy stared at me, and Alice ran off the bed, and curled up in the corner of the room crying. I steped over the shadow, and walked over to Alice. She flinched as I went to touch her, and I stopped. "Sweetie..."
"Mommy what did you do? Who was he? What was he going to do? Where are we going? What are we doing here? I wanna go home!" She cried. I looked back at the shadow, and then back at Alice.

"Sweetie..please. He was no one darling. No one." I said, and she cried even more. Andy came beside me, and gently pulled her towards him. "Listen baby girl. Mommy was protceting you. He was a nasty man and was going to hurt you so Mommy stopped him, thats all baby girl."
"But...she scared me." She said,and I felt my heart break. I had scared my own little girl, so that she didn't want me to touch her. A tear slid down my cheek, and I grabbed her hand. "Sweetie I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I was protecting you sweetie. I would never hurt you." I said, and she climbed onto my lap, and let me rock her as she cried. Andy walked over to the shadow, and looked at it. "So this is what were running from?"
"Yeah. There hell it's self in one body with no heart or soul."
"Why as it just looking at Alice?"
"It didn't know what she was. It's brain immediatly says weather something is human or not, and shes both so it confused him." I said, and he nodded, and got down on his knees, taking it's pulse. "He's dead." Andy said, standing back up. I sighed, and picked Alice up, passing her to Andy as I knelt over the shadow. I mumbled somthing underneath my breath, and it snapped up, it's wings glowing slightly before taking off out the window. "What did you do?"
"I sent it back with a message..."

DAMEONS POV

I had sent out one of my followers out to see if he could find anything, and he hadn't come back yet. I paced up and down in front of my throne, waiting impaciently. Suddenly the roof shattered, and in fell the follower I had sent, face down. I started over his body, and looked at his wings. They were glowing a dark red colour. I went to touch him, to see if he was alive, and a golden piece of paper shot of the wings, floating in front of me. I took it and opened it. It read:

If you think that this is going to be that easy your wrong. Your gonna have to get through me before you fucking dare to touch one member of my family.

I yelled, and kicked the shadow so he was lying on his back. I stared at him. He had a bite mark in his neck. I didn't understand it. How could an angel like her, make a mark like that? It was impossible. Yes Vampires could of done it, but shadows could sence a vampire, and would of killed it way before they had any chance to kill them. I sighed, and sat back on my throne. Everything was a mess, I just couldent understand what was going on, but I was determind to find out...
