My throat goes dries, as I hold the card in my hand. Ashley looks at me nervously before closing the book and it disappears. I sit holding the card close to my heart for dear life, 2 cards in one day… this hasn’t happened in ever. Slowly I start to recognize the features of the King.
“Yo Ace? Everything alright?” Ashley asks and I nod weakly grabbing my sketch book and drawing the king. I turn it to Ashley and he cocks his head.
“Why did you draw Andy?” He asks slowly and my eyes widen. Shit the King is here, but who is the Queen. I drop everything but the card and pick Ashley up before running into the room. I slam Andy to the ground, my eyes blazing.
“WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!!” I scream in more panic than rage. His blue eyes widen in fear and I feel Joker trying to pull me off him. I flick my wings out, cocooning us in feathers.
“W-what d-do you me-mean?” Andy whimpers and I grunt angrily.
“Did you have girlfriend Andy?” I ask and he nods slowly, I scream in rage and fly off him. I slam my fist into the wall and the cave shakes. Everyone has terror on the faces and Sammi is hiding behind Jinxx.
“I-it’s the K-king…” I stutter shy again, my rage no longer controlling me. Suddenly Thirty screams and disappears, Ray runs out turning into a dragon. Joker takes a fly leap out into the sky before turning into an eagle.
“W-who’s the king…” CC says wearily and I hold up the sketch. Andy’s eyes widen and he takes a step back.
“There is a King and a Queen of Spades. The King is said to be a dark force and the Queen a heavenly force. The King left his wife for the Ace of Spades. The Queen has been out for revenge ever since then…” I mumble, rubbing the back of my neck nervously. Andy backs up, falling into Ashley’s lap.
“Welcome to the games… may the best player live.” I mumble the same thing my father said to me upon handing me the deck.
“Are you saying Juliet is out for blood?” Andy says quietly and my eyes lock on his. No… it cant be.
“Juliet Simms?” I whisper and he nods slowly. Before I know what’s happening I’ve fainted.
