Goodbye Agony

I sigh and get ready to tell Aleina what happened. "Your mother, Carina, though I always called her my little Carebear because she had the biggest heart." Aleina stares at me strangely. "What? Don't judge me! Sorry, sorry I'll get back on topic. Excuse my little tangent. Anyway, we were madly in love. She was 17 and I was 16. We had known each other our entire life." I smile wistfully as tears prick my eyes.

"You really cared for her, huh?" Aleina observed.

"I loved her." Aleina scoffs. "What? What's so funny?" I ask, geniunely interested.

"The fact that you actually believe in love. Love doesn't exist; it's merely a desolate hope for the desperate darling. The high you get after having sex with a person makes you believe you're in love when it truly doesn't exist." Aleina replied. Vic, Ronnie, and I gawked at her.

"Well someone had a screwed up childhood." Ronnie mumbled under his breath. Aleina smiles coldly.

"You have no idea." She turns to me. "Please continue Mr. Purdy." Aleina says. Damn she would make a fine businesswoman. I shiver at the thought of what she would do; she'd end up ruling the world from what I can see. I clear my throat.

"Ahem, anyway, she was extremely sweet and caring. When we found out we were going to have you, she was so excited; whereas I had fainted." This elicited a chuckle from her. I crack a smile. Maybe this won't be so bad after all. "Well, anyway we were planning for you and everything. However, on the day before your due date, I came home to find her...dead. Her body was mutilated and on the wall, "What's the matter Ashie boy?" was written in her blood. The authorities never figured out who did it. To top it all off, my unborn child was never found. At least until now. You have the perfect mix of Carina and me. You have her adorable nose and eyes while you have my cheekbones and--"

"Okay okay, now don't go getting mushy on me. First things first, you can't be sure I'm your daughter without a DNA test. Plain and simple. Second, there are quite a few reasons why the authorites never found out who it was but I'm not going to get into that. Three, you honestly need to slow your roll. If it were anybody else, they would probably be calling the cops right about now." Aleina stated matter-of-factly. My jaw just dropped. She's so similar to Carina but also me at the same time. "And stop gawking, it's freaky." I promptly close my mouth.

"Um..okay. So when do you want to take the DNA test?" I'm hoping she'll say sometime today.

"Wow, you really don't waste any time do you? First things first, I have to let my friends know I'm leaving."

"Friends? You mean that Jewel girl and the other girl?"

"Yes. Do you have a problem with that?" Her voice took on a dangerous undertone. I gulped and shook my head. "Good. I'll be off then." I look at Vic and Ronnie before the three of us started following her.

I'M SORRY FOR BEING GONE SO LONG! I had some shit to deal with so I put the story on a temporary hiatus. -sighs- Well, where I am it's Thanksgiving break so yay! Anyway, I finally realized that I had forgotten about this story and all so I wrote this as an apology. Please don't murder me in my sleep.

I bet y'all thought I was dead.

Oh and I'm feeling very proud of myself to be completely honest. I got a 4 out of 4 on this essay grader in my English HNRS class when I normally get a 3 out of 4. This means instead of getting a 92, I get a 97 since I had 4 advanceds and 1 competent.
