Our Family

I open my bedroom door and look down the hall. Not a parent in sight. I close my door, making sure that I locked it, I don't want them knowing I'm gone. They'll probably think I'm mad because I'm grounded. I open the window. My bedroom is right over the garage, there's a ladder on the side of the garage, I climbed down it. When I reached the bottom, I check to see if anyone's seen me. The coast is clear and I start walking to the park. I texted Jack to meet me there, so hopefully he'll show up soon. I take out my journal and start writing.

-I'm a lost cause
Why would anyone waste time on me?

Though through my journeys

I close my journal when I get a tap on the shoulder from behind.

"Whatcha writing there?" Jack asks as he takes a seat next to me on the bench.

"It's nothing really." I say. He leans in and looks at my eye. He takes off his sunglasses and puts them on me.

"I think you'll need them more." He says.

"Thank you." I say and put my journal away.

"So what were you writing?"

"It's just a poem to get my feelings out."

"Can I read it?"

"As long as you don't make fun of me." He nods. I take out my journal, open it to the correct page, and hand it over. He looks at it and a smile creeps onto his face. "Hey, I said no making fun of me."

"No it's awesome, and now I know that when you say poem you mean song." He says and hands me back my journal. I put it away again and turn my attention over to Jack.

"You said you have something to tell me." I say crossing my arms.

"That can wait. First things first, are you hungry?"

"A little, I didn't get lunch."

"I didn't either, let's go grab some pizza." He stands and reaches out a hand to me, I take it and we walk down to Vinny's Pizza and get a bite to eat.

"So are you going to tell me little secret?" I ask.

"Not yet, we still have a couple of other things to do." He replies. I finish my slice.

"Like what?" I ask as he takes his last bite.

"We should go see a movie, I know how much you've been dying to see The Kingsmen."

"I have really wanted to, okay pay and we'll go." He grins and takes out his wallet. He pays for late lunch/early dinner, and we head towards the cinema.

"Are you going to tell me after the movie?" I ask as we take our seats.

"Yes." He says and the movie begins.


The movie finished and we ran outside.

"The movie was awesome!" I say and hug him.

"It really was good, now let's go." He says.

"Go where? You said you were gonna tell me after the movie." I say.

"I am, we just need to go somewhere first."

"I'm not taking one more step until you tell me."

"Fine, have it your way." He walks up to me, and picks me up and throws me over his shoulder.

"Jack put me down!"

"Not until we get back to the park."

"Why are we going to the park?"

"You'll see."

He carries me all the way to the park and sets me down on the bench. He takes out his phone and presses a button. James Dean & Audrey Hepburn acoustic version by SWS places out of his phone. He places it down on the bench and smiles at me.

"Would you like to dance Miss Biersack?" He asks. I stand up.

"Of course." I say and place a hand in his and the other on his shoulder. He places one of his hands on my waist and begins to sway us from side to side. "So what is this secret that you've delayed to tell me all night?" He twirls me.

"You're gonna have to leave in a little closer, I don't want people to hear." I lean towards him and he kisses me. I'm sorry, did that actually happen?

"You kissed me." I say biting my lip.

"Indeed I did, would you like me to do it again?" He asks and I nod. He kisses me again, longer this time and smiles as we release.

"How long have you been keeping this secret?"

"Since the day I first met you. I don't won't to be the best friend anymore, I want to be promoted to the boyfriend." He says and twirls me.

"My first boyfriend, I'd like that to be you too."

"Good."

"Great song choice by the way. They say that love is forever, your forever is all that I need."

"That's how I feel and I can't promise that things won't be broken, but I swear that I will never leave."

"I'm gonna be in so much shit when I get home."

"Did you sneak out?"

"Yeah and I'll probably not get to hangout with you after school all month."

"I'm sorry, but I'm proud that you're sticking it to the man."

"You sound like such a hippie."

"I'm all about flower power." I giggle.

"I should probably check my phone." We stop dancing and I take out my phone.

43 missed calls.
159 new texts.
38 new voicemails.

I sigh and put my phone back in my pocket.

"I'm guessing you have to go home now." He says and I nod. "Come on, I'll walk you." I take his hand and we begin walking back to my house.

"I should probably call my dad and tell him okay." I say.

"It might be a good idea before he gets the BVB army to go searching for you." Jack says making me laugh. I take out my phone and dial my dad's number.

"Lily where the hell have you been?" My dad yells.

"I told you I was going to hangout with Jack today." I say.

"And I also told you that you're grounded this weekend." He says.

"That you did, I'll be home soon though."

"Yeah and once you are you can say goodbye to friends for a month!"

"Okay, I'll see you when I get there, bye." I hang up before he gets angrier. My dad usually doesn't get that mad, I must have given him a fright.

"So you're grounded for a month, I'm gonna miss those lips, I just got introduced to them." Jack says.

"We still have lunch." I say.

"That we do." He says happily. We finally get to the curb in front of my house as my dad walks outside.

"Lily get inside the house!" My dad yells.

"So I'll see you on Monday." Jack says.

"No I'm suspended on Monday, I'll see you Tuesday." I say.

"Okay, do you mind if I piss your dad off a little more?" He asks.

"Is that possible?" He nods and kisses me.

"Lily get the fuck in the house right now!" My dad yells in rage. Jack and I release and he winks at me as he walks off. I walk up to the door and pass my dad walking in.

I yawn. "Today was a long day, I'm gonna go to sleep." I say walking up the stairs.

"Lily we need to talk, you're in big trouble missy." Dad says.

"No worries, I'll tell you all about it tomorrow, goodnight daddy." I blow him a kiss before walking up to my room and collapsing asleep on the bed.
