Free Bird

We spent two days curled up in a hotel bed, getting food delivered and watching movies. Now we were taking a flight up to New York. Don't ask me how this is going to work. It's New Years Eve and the airport and town are going to be completely crowded.
"You said it was always your dream to watch the ball drop in Times Square. So I am here to make your dream a reality" Ashley told me as we got on our plane for the 3 hour ride
I smile at him and take his hand in mine as we wait for take off...

Later that night.
"5...4...3...2...1... Happy New Year!" Ashley and I scream along with countless other as we stand in Time Square in each others arms. As the confetti falls Ashley cups my cheek in his hand and we share in our first New Years kiss together. When his lips meet mine the world disappears. I don't hear the excited cheers of people around us or the sound of noise makers. All I hear is Ashley's voice in my head telling me he loves me as I feel his strong arms wrap around me and lift me off my feet, never breaking our kiss. I feel the wetness of melted snow in his hair as my hands run through it. When our kiss is over, we give each other that look of knowing. Knowing that our love will last forever, no matter what anybody else says.

We get to the hotel, and I find rose petals all over and a small bottle of champagne surrounded by small chocolate covered strawberry's on a room service cart.
"What is this?" I ask him
"Oh nothing, just a little something to help us kick off this New Year together." he smirks
We pop open the bottle and enjoy the chocolates as we sit in silence by the window and watch the snow fall over New York City. Hours later, once the chocolates and bottle is gone we crawl into bed next to each other. And he rubs my back as I nestle into his chest.
"I love you Ashley." I tell him as my eyelids begin to get heavy from the drink and the feel of his touch in my back
"I love you too Neveah, get some rest dear. This is New Years Day, and today is the beginning of a wonderful year." he says back before giving me a small kiss on the top of my head.
