Free Bird

Like I said, the guys were not letting me off the hook.
"why were you laughing?" CC asks thinking it will be a simple answer, but nothing in my life is simple.
"I was thinking about my sister," I smile as I think of her face, the one I saw while I was under,"She always loved to tell me 'I told you so'. Guess that's what a big sister does. The reason I laughed is because when that ray of sunlight broke through the clouds and shined in my window, I felt like that was her telling me that."
They all looked confused, and I couldn't figure out why, but then Ashley asked.
"Why would you be thinking she said that?"
"Because," I pause, will they think I'm nuts, "I saw her."
"When?" Ella gives me a look of confusion
"When I was in the hospital, I saw her. I remember crying and telling her we could finally be together again, but she said she didn't want me there. She said I was stronger than that. Told me to come back, to grow older, to have a family. I didn't want to, I begged her to let me stay with her, but she walked away from me. The last words she said to me were... 'I love you Neva, see you later'. That's when I woke up. That's why I laughed when the sunlight came in through the window. She knows how much you guys care, she watched you all cry and panic as you waited for me to wake up. That was her way of saying 'I told you so'"
Tears fill my eyes, but I blink them away. Ashley pulls me close to him and he wraps his arms around me. Then before I know it, Im dog piled and crushed with love.
