Abbie
Falling... I can't breathe. I look down at toward the ground but I can't see anything. The wind is rushing past me in the opposite direction and it only adds to my fear that death is coming. Of course it's not though. I'm never lucky like that. People say I'm lucky that I'm alive but I think I'd be lucky if I got to die and not face the horrors of the world. I could feel the ground growing near and just when I thought I would splat against the pavement, strong arms wrapped around me.

I jolted upright. Just a dream.

Andy

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I answered it quickly. "Hello?" I asked rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I heard Abbie on the other line whimpering. "Abbie? where are you? I'm coming over." I said She squeaked when I went to hang up. "Okay, I'm staying on the line. you still there?" I got a mhmm in response. Quickly I ran out of the house and into my car. I drove straight to CU talking to Abbie about nothing just so she could hear my voice and know I hadn't hung up on her. She must have heard me put my car in park or pull up outside because she finally spoke. "It's unlocked." and then she hung up.

I rushed inside and found her on the bathroom floor in shorts and a baggy tank top. She was clutching a razor in one hand and staring at her legs. she had made three cuts. I bandaged her up and carried her to the living room. I laid her on her couch and went to grab her water. She drank the entire glass and handed it back to me. I placed the glass on the coffee table and turned on the TV. I put netflix on and found a batman movie. Abbie started playing with my hair and I easily fell asleep with my head resting on the couch near her chest.

I woke up to the smell of bacon. I walked into the kitchen to find Abbie cooking. "breakfast?" I asked. She smiled and nodded. I walked over to her and picked her up into a hug. She wrapped her frail arms around my neck and gave me a tight squeeze. "Next time. Call me before you cut. please?" I said. She frowned at me and looked at her legs disgusted. I lifted her chin. "I want you to call me first so I can comfort you. you don't need blades to comfort you. let me help. I will always be here for you." I told her. Abbie reached up and kissed me. I was taken back for a moment I thought she didn't want that. I mean I didn't want to add anymore heartache to her already painful life. "Abbs, I like you a lot but for now I just really want to get to know you. You are such a sweet amazing person." I told her. She nodded sullenly. I felt really bad. She handed me bacon and I ate it out of her hand. yum!
