Chapter 6
Jump to Friday morning
My alarm worked this morning and woke me up at 9:00 so I could get ready for my meeting at noon with Black Veil Brides. I took a quick shower and got dressed before I went to gather my designs, sketches and my laptop from the office. I then went downstairs and made my breakfast and let Nyx outside. After I let Nyx back inside and then headed out of the apartment to the elevator to go to the garage. I hoped on my bike and headed to work. I got there a half an hour before my meeting so I setup the room and then sat down and pulled my journal out and began writing and sketching whatever came to mind. I was writing and drawing for a while and before I knew it I felt a tap on my shoulder; I looked up to see it was Ashley. Everyone else wasn’t here yet so he leaned down and kissed me. I don’t know how long we were kissing but we finally prated when we herd whistling from the door. I looked up to see it was CC who was whistling, Andy was smiling and Jake and Jinxx were standing there like they were either still tired or expected that they might find Ashley kissing me.
I was blushing when said “Let’s get this meeting started I have a lot to show you guys.” I then pulled out my sketch books and started my computer up to show the digital designs I had. As they began looking through what I had designed; I noticed that Ashley was staring at me rather than looking what I had worked hard on.
“So what do you think Ashley? You seem to not be interested in my designs that you were searching my office for when you were at my house on Tuesday.” I say looking at Ashley
“I looked at them, I thought they were great some of the best we have ever had done for us but I liked some of the other stuff you had designed that I saw in your desk better but then again it wasn’t like the stuff you designed for us at all. You like to create a different design for everything you do instead of repeating the same stuff over again for a different band.”
“Thanks I’m glad you liked the stuff you say for Motley Creu and DC comics; I’ve worked on that stuff really hard and it’s being sold in stores now.” When I said Motley Creu Andy’s head snapped up from looking at my sketch book.
“Did you just say Motley Creu?” I nodded “As in the Motley Creu?”
“Yes I’ve worked with Motley Creu, DC Comics, Marvel comics, Disney, and a bunch of other bands, I think it’s up to twelve, but if you want I could bring you with me to next meeting I have with them. I think it’s during your first break for this tour, but you have to promise not to fan girl the entire time or I will lock you in my office here.”
“That would be awesome.” He said to me and turn to the guys and said “What do you guys think?” I assumed he was talking about me.
“I defiantly want to go with her as our new designer I’ve seen a lot of her work and I think she will be the best choice for us. Also she will fit in with us really well.” Ashley said speaking up first.
“I like her shit and she’s making us food tonight; so I say YES!” CC says the last part really loud.
“I like the designs she has shown us and I think she’s the best we’ve seen in a while.” Jinxx said sounding like an adult after hearing CC.
“I have to agree with Jinxx she has shown us some awesome shit.” Jake said.
“I agree with you guys and she said I could talk with Motley Creu, so I defiantly say yes.” Andy said.
“So will you be our designer?” Ashley asked looking me in the eyes.
“Hell yes. It’s always been a dream of mine since I started working for Hot Topic.” I paused for a minute then said “So I’m may work for Hot Topic as a designer but I don’t technically work for Hot Topic.” They had confused faces “It means that Hot Topic gives me work but I own my own brand; they don’t own my brand name which id KE.” After I explained better they all nodded their heads in understanding.
“So Ashley and you.” CC says.
“And with that I’m going to text you my address for tonight, I am going to pack up my stuff and go home and cook my famous ravioli. I will see you guys tonight and don’t forget to bring your own alcohol.” I say as I text them my address and pack up my stuff.
“I’ll walk you out I parked next to you.” Ashley says as he grabs my laptop bag.
“Thanks.” I say and then we both walk out to the elevator to go down to the garage.
“So did you really park next to me or are you trying to avoid them harassing you.”
“What if I said both, because I did park next to you.” He said as he grabbed my hand.
I looked down at our hand joined together and then looked back up into his eyes and said “If you want you can fallow me back to my apartment and I can show you how to make ravioli.”
“Sure I would love that; I like spending time with you.” We then walked hand in hand to our bikes; he ended up putting my laptop in one of his side bags and I took my bag of sketch books.
“You can follow me since I know where I’m going.” I say as I put on my helmet.
“Okay you lead the way.” And with that we were off; me in the lead and him close behind.
When we arrived at my apartment we grabbed my stuff and went to the elevator to go upstairs to my apartment. The entire time from the moment we got my stuff gathered up till I went upstairs to put my stuff in my office we were holding hands and I loved it. My heart was beating out of my chest the entire time, he made me feel so different and special. When I came back down stairs I found Ashley siting on the coach with Nyx in his lap.
“She must like you, she doesn’t like strangers. Most of the time if someone she doesn’t know is over she will follow me around or be in my lap.” I paused looking at my girl in Ashley’s lap before I said “So AJ is going to be home at two and its 1:45 now so we should get in the kitchen.”
“Okay. Why is AJ getting home early?”
“She wanted to do some baking; she always likes to bake when we have company coming over. I only bake for holidays.”
“Ah, so what do you want me to do first?”
“You can pull out six eggs from the fridge along with the containers of ricotta cheese, the spinach and the mushrooms.” I say as I go into the pantry to get out my ingredients for my ravioli noodle part. After I got out those ingredients I grabbed my recipe book and my two Kitchen Aids.
“You are going to follow this recipe and use this Kitchen Aid to do you mixing and I will make the pasta part.”
We worked for a while till we herd the front door open and saw AJ go up the stairs.
”Hey AJ.”I called
“Oh hey and hi Ashley. I didn’t know you would be here already.” She said walking into the kitchen.
“Yeah Kassy asked me if I wanted to follow her home and help her cook. So that’s what I did and you guys live really close to Hot Topic’s HQ.” He said as continued to roll out the ravioli noodles.
“I’m going to go change so I look less professional and then I will come and bake. Is one of the mixers open?”
“Yeah we are working on rolling out the dough and filling the ravioli.” I say as I walk bake over to where I was working.
When AJ came back down stairs she asked “So how did the meeting go?”
“It went well I am now officially Black Veil Brides’ designer and during the meeting I told them how I currently work for and now Andy is going to be permanently attached to me when I have my next meeting with Motley Creu.” I say as I start the next sheet of ravioli.
“Nice, so your making your ravioli I see.” She says as she start her mixer.
“Yeah and I think if Ashley weren’t here to help me I wouldn’t be almost done.”
“I think so too, so what sauce are you making?” We were talking like Ashley wasn’t even there.
“My spinach, tomato, and sausage.” I say finishing another pan.
We worked for three more hours; we had finished all the ravioli and made the sauce which is currently simmering. AJ made three different types of deserts, this girl is crazy about baking, and then she put together some snacks.
“Hey I got really messy while cooking so I’m going to change.” AJ says as she gets up to go upstairs.
“Me too.” I say looking over to Ashley who again has Nyx in his lap.
“Mid if I come upstairs with you?” He asked noticing I was looking at him.
“No I don’t mind just no looking.” I say and stand up and so does he keeping Nyx in his arms. We then go upstairs to my room.
“You can sit on my bed; I’m going to change in my closet since its big enough.”
“Okay sounds good Nyx and I will be waiting right here.”
“She is attached to you I have never seen her take a liking to someone so fast.” I say from inside my closet.
