Almost Easy (Janxx)

Let It Go

*Jinxx's POV*
A few days later, we were packed up and ready to leave the farm. Juliet was feeling a lot betterand was able to move around on her own, which didn't stop Andy from checking on her frequently. He was honestly a good guy, in my opinion. But he was being kind of creepy.
Scythia was less than thrilled. She had a scowl on her face and was polishing her knife every few minutes, as if planning to kill someone at any minute.
"Do we really have to leave? " she asked. She stabbed her knife into the wall and pouted.
"No knives in the walls," I reminded as I zipped my suitcase. "And yeah, it kind of is mandatory. Have you not seen outside lately?"
"Yeah, it's nice," she replied.
"Not outside the house, the road," I replied. "Y'know, the gap in the road, the rubble of what was once society."
"Oh. I've been here for the past few months since this started," she replied. "I thought it wasn't that bad."
"It really is," I replied. I lifted her into the truck and pulled her seatbelt across her chest.
"Hey, I can do it myself," Scythia told me. "Why do you always do things for me?"
"It's because I care," I replied, poking her nose. She grinned at me. I pulled the knife out of the wall and gave it to her. "No more stabbing walls, understood?"
Scythia nodded and tucked it into her belt. "No more wall stabbing," she agreed.
"Great." I shut the door and looked back to see CC and Ashley screwing around with the sheep on the farm.
"Get them away!" Ashley yelled as the small horde chased him. CC being CC laughed and didn't do anything. It was kind of funny to watch. I thought they were so cute together. I hoped Jake and I could be that way.
I went back inside the house and found Jake pulling on his jeans. I blushed when I saw his ass hanging halfway out of his pants. He noticed me and said, "Oh, hey."
"Hi. I see that you're busy," I said, motioning to his pants.
"Yup," he replied. His pants were now up and he was zipping them. I leaned in and kissed his cheek lightly. He kissed back, square on the lips.
I pulled away and said, "Well, we're almost ready to go."
"Okay. Allow me to find my shoes and I'll be finished." He bent over the bed and located his boots. I waited as he laced up his boots. "Okay. Let's go."
I began walking ahead of him, opening the door that led to the backyard. Ashley and CC were already in the truck, riding next to Scythia. Scythia was braiding Ashley's hair. I smirked to see this.
Andy was talking to Juliet on the side of the barn about something that I really didn't care about (sorry not sorry) so I decided to ride shotgun. Jake got in the driver's seat and smiled at me. I blushed and smiled back. Dammit, he always does that to me. His smile makes me blush and act so stupid.
I thought of a few days ago when he teased me before sleeping. Oh yes, I would get revenge for that. How could he just leave me with an aching hard-on and then decide that he wasn't going to sleep with me? He could have at least given me a handjob or something.
Juliet and Andy climbed into the back of the truck, still continuing to speak in their hushed voices. I watched from one of the mirrors as they kissed and felt awkward sitting next to Jake. What if he tried something...I'm so awkward.
Jake began driving down the road (not the part with gap, the other direction). Scythia leaned between the seats and asked, "Where are we going?"
"Just wait," Jake replied. "That's the fun part; waiting until you reach the destination to know where you are. It's like a game."
"I like games!" Scythia said. "Like Call of Duty and Assasin's Creed and the zombie games to. They're fun." She grinned.
I smoothed her messy hair down and said, "That's great. Why zombie games though?"
"I have the upperhand and can come back if I die, unlike here."She looked a bit sad. "Do you think there's a God? I doubt it."
Hearing a seven year old doubt existence is so depressing. Then again, we all doubted God. Who created religion anyway? To feel better about death? "I don't know," I replied. "No one really does."
_There's only one God and his name is Death," Jake declared.

Notes

I slipped in a quote by Slaves at the end. The song's called, There is only one true God and his name is Death.
