An Angels Last Fall

Throwing Away my Angel Morals...?

Ciarra POV

My senses started to awaken before my eyes were light enough to open. I knew I was in an unfamiliar place. My eyes were still heavy and I could feel that I was not fully aware yet. I tried to remember what happened last night. I knew that I had gone to Andy’s for a movie night but the last thing I remember was falling asleep on him.

I started to stir, feeling that a light blanket was on top of me and I was still wearing jeans. I let my eyes flutter open to see a very different room. I shot up bouncing on the bed a little. I looked around to see gothic curtains blocking the light to my left and dark wood dressers in front of me. Books and papers were pilling on top of them. Figurines of different people and places littered shelves along the walls. The night stand to the right of me held a black alarm clock with blue numbers. Beside it was a lamp that had a figure of what looked like the first movie we watched last night. The bed I was lying on was much bigger than mine. The blankets and pillows were black and quite fluffy.

I reached for the side of the blanket that was covering me and pulled it off of my legs. I sat on the end of the bed still looking around. I could see posters and hand drawings of Black Veil Brides. Names of songs I knew Andy had wrote were written on head bed head board and on the dresser in front of me. I stood up feeling the soft carpet between my toes and walked over to the papers and books stacking the dresser.

The first paper I picked up was hand written. Some of the words were written light the others looked they had been drawn over again and again. “Living a life of misery. Always there, just underneath. Haunting me, quietly alone. It’s killing me, killing me. Dead and gone, what's done is done. You were all I had become. I'm letting go of what I once believed. So goodbye agony.” It brought a tear to my eye. He must have done through something bad to write such lyrics.

I set the paper down and glanced at others. I must have been in Andy’s room. I looked to the door to see more posters of bands that I had not seen nor heard of. Of course before my time on Earth classical music was my love.

I saw my shoes on the floor and put them on. I decided to exit the room. I walked into a hallway that went left and right. The walls here were white as well and no pictures hung on them. I looked both ways seeing that they were slightly different. I walked to the right and heard soft breathing. A door was partially opened. I looked inside from the hallway. I could see Ashley’s figure sprawled on his bed. His hair was a mess around his head. He was not being covered by any blankets. In fact they had fallen to the floor. I looked away and continued my journey. I walked past a bathroom that was filled with hair sprays, makeup, and other beauty products.

I paused feeling my normal routine want to fulfill. I stepped inside, shut and locked the door, and looked into the mirror. My hair was a mess as well. My curls, that Juliet had taught me to do on my own, had fallen into harsh waves. I tucked both side behind my ears and sighed. My shirt was wrinkled, I sneered when I failed to even fix a crease in a shirt. How human. I did my duties and left the bathroom still wondering slowly through the house. I came across and opening looking down into the kitchen.

I grabbed onto the cold wood railing and descended using my feet softly. There were three pictures frames leading down stairs. None I took too much of an interest in. When I turned the corner I saw a blanket covering something that was lying on the couch. I stopped, startled. I walked softly, transitioning from carpet, to tile, then back to carpet. My bear I could see was still sitting comfortably next to the front door along with my coat.

I stood on my toes trying to see what was making the mound under the blanket.

Andy slept, holding onto a corner of the blanket with the hand that was facing the couch, his other arm hung free over lapping the couch. He face into the living room. His hair was almost perfect. He was breaking softly. He was on his stomach with half of his face pressing hard into the pillow. A tiny portion of his big toe was exposed.

I smiled, resting back onto my feet and walking closer. He stirred some making me jump and run quietly into the stair way. I peeked from behind the wall. When he did not move any more I walked back into the living room.

He looked so sweet, Juliet often talked harsh of him. How could anyone who acted the way he did and slept this soundly be so harsh? I smiled again looking to the kitchen wondering if I should go back and wait for him to wake up. I heard him take a deep breath and when I looked back he was opening his eyes. It was too late for me to run this time. He met my gaze and smiled pushing his face into the pillow and moving his body so that both of his arms were under him. He breathed hard again and sat up, rubbing his eyes.

“Good morning,” he said still very tired.

I smiled, his voice was already sweet, but the way he talked now made it better. “I’m sorry to steal your room. I did not mean…” He cut me off.

“It’s fine, I didn’t mind.” He smiled at me and yawned. “Did you sleep well?”

I nodded, “you have a lot of interesting stuff up there.” I commented as he stretched exposing the muscles in his arms. The human side of who I now was admired them. “Survival, that’s all it is, survival.” I told myself when my heart began to race.

“You didn’t get into my drawers right?” He chuckled.

I narrowed my eye brows. “Why?” cocked my head looking at him.

He shook his head and laughed. “Never mind.” He stood up, thankfully dressed fully. “Hungry?” He asked looking back to me as he walked into the kitchen.

I stood in the middle of the living room watching him reach into a cupboard to pull out a mug. “Yes,” I said softly walking toward him.

“I have eggs, cereal, toast, and…” I had sat at a tall chair next to the counter. He leaned over close to me, “if you’re nice maybe I’ll make some waffles.”

I couldn’t help but laugh, he smiled at me and stood back up straight. “I’ve never had waffles.” I commented.

“What?! Waffles is it then!” He exclaimed pulling this and that out of drawers and counters.

He had taken a few minutes to mix ingredients into a bowl. He pulled out a device I had never seen before and began to pour the mix into it a little at a time. When the machine would beep he would pull out square shaped bread that had square indents in to. When he had made 5 or so he got out two more plates along with butter and a bottle that held dark colored liquid. He out a plate in front of me along with a fork and knife. He sat down beside me after setting his plate down.

“How many do you want?” He asked handing me the plate with what I now knew were waffles.

I grabbed one and put it on my plate. He smiled and took two. He took a knife and spread a light coat of butter on both, then poured the dark liquid on to them. He started at me as he cut a small piece off with his fork and eat it.

I looked away and attempted to do what he had done. With no objections from Andy I continued to eat. My eyes widened as I took the first bite. It was sweet and delicious. Andy chuckled and we continued to eat. I asked for another once I had finished and Andy gave it to me gladly.

When we were full I helped him put things away and clean the mess we had made. Ashley had come down and greeted us, drank a glass of water, and walked back downstairs.

“I would love for you to stay but I know Juliet is probably freaking out and you should get home.” Andy said rinsing off the last fork and handing to me to place into the dish washer.

I sighed, I did want to stay as well, but if I stayed then I would continue to want more. Every minute with Andy I seemed to fall for him more and more. “I could use a shower.” I chuckled.

Andy did as well and said he would be back as he ran upstairs. I dialed Juliet’s number. It rang three times before she picked up, she had just woken up, I could tell. “Where are you?” She asked not really concered but confused.

“I had a movie night with Andy and I fell asleep here. I’m on my way home though.” As soon as she took a breath I knew she would freak out.

“Wait what?” Now she was awake and excited. “You have to tell me everything! I can’t believe you did that! I thought you were home!” She continued to ramble.

When I saw Andy walking back down the stairs with black jeans, a new shirt, and shoes on I tried to get off of the phone fast. “I’m leaving now, I’ll see you in a little bit.”

“Wait what happe…!” I hung up and slipped my phone into my back pocket.

I smiled as he held his keys to me opening the door. I grabbed my bear and my coat and followed him into the car. The drive home was longer than I was expecting. Andy and I talk about the movies last night and if I liked them or not. I explained that I fell asleep during most of the second one. When he fell silent I looked to see that his cheeks were red. I looked away and apologized for falling asleep on him.

“No, don’t be, you’re actually more comfortable than you look…that came out wrong...never mind.” I laughed looking to see that he was trying not to smile. He looked to me fast then back to the road.

“We should have another movie night again.” I asked once he had pulled into Juliet’s driveway. I could see her peeking through the blinds.

He put his car into park and turned to me. “Yeah…” He paused and looked down at his hands. “But maybe next time it can just me you and me?” I looked away and breathed, “I’m sorry that was out of line…”

“No,” I put my hand on his. “I would like that.” Some part of me was screaming at me.

Telling me to do something that went against everything I believed. I picked up my body and rested my hand against the cup holder between us lifting me slightly. I kissed his cheek. I paused close to his face after the quick kiss, wondering if what I had done was stupid. I quickly got out of his car and rushed to my door. I refused to look back.
