An Angels Last Fall

Bail: Part 2

The music wasn’t as loud as I expected. And there were not as many people either. Probably invite only party that was of a select few. Ashley wondered off immediately and Juliet hit the bar after squeezing my hand tight and giving me a small kiss on the cheek. I was alone at the entrance looking around for a place to sit. Of course there was only one couch and it was occupied. I sighed and moved to the side when someone pushed passed me to get outside.

I had let my eyes drift over the crowd and there were only four men that looked like they belonged to the band Ashley was in. Most of the people here had tattoos but they weren’t covered in black. Still no sign of Andy. That was a good thing. But…I was finding myself searching for him now. I shook my head and fiddled with my thumbs.

“Hey, I saw you at the mall with Juliet right?” I heard a deep raspy voice ask beside me.

I looked up to see Andy. I gulped and nodded. “Ciarra.”

“That’s a different name.” He smiled.

His eyes…his voice…I was getting lost. “I uhm, I need a drink.”

“Let me get one for you?” He asked motioning toward the bar and already walking over there. Bringing back a small glass of clear liquid. “I didn’t know what kind of drink you wanted so I just got water.” He smiled handing it to me.

I felt my face getting hot and I smiled as I took the cup. “I uh, heard one of your songs on the way here. Ashley showed it to us.” I said. “You’re really good.”

“Thanks,” he said grinning.

He swayed a little bit then ran his hand through is hair. “So…” he slurred, “I’m kinda busy for the party and all. Maybe we could get lunch tomorrow? I could pick you up?” He asked putting his hand through his hair again.

I smiled and held the cup close to me. Then I realized that my heart was beating too fast. I handed him the cup back and shook my head. “Uhm, no, I’m sorry I have to go.” I roughly put my hand in my hair and pulled Juliet away from her conversation with Ashley. “Take me home, now.” I demanded.

“Why? What happened?” She asked putting a hand on my upper arm.

If I told her the truth she would make me stay…which was better? Lust? Or a lie to get out of lust? “I don’t feel good. I might be getting sick.”

Juliet put her drink down and rushed to the front door dragging me with her. She called a cab from outside and we were home in under 10 minutes. I ran straight to my room and fell to my bed. How could one man make me feel so happy?
