Beauty and the Beast

There was nothing more that I wanted than to finally see what was in the dungeon. Last night was another growling, clawing, torture chamber that kept me awake. When every one left the castle for the day I dropped everything I was doing to finally see the secret they were hiding. It took a few turns and lost hallways to find the steal door that had three pad locks the size of my face, two bars, and a turn key. I gulped, wondering if I still wanted to see the beast they were hiding behind there.

The padlocks were unlocked, dangling from the hooks. I reached out a shaky hand to turn the cold, rusted door knob. It wasn't to surprising to see that it had to take all of my wight to push the door open just enough for my small body to get through. It was pitch black, beside for one candle lantern that hung on a small shelf. I lifted it from its resting place, and continued my journey.

While I walked, I kept thinking about why I was doing this. My life would not better in anyway from knowing, it might actually get worse, but I was curious. And I might be leaving soon anyway.

The lantern guided my way to another door. This one looked like prison bars. The poles were thick iron, and had been bent and broken. Almost every single one had scratch marks, teeth marks, and coarse grey fur. I set the lantern on the foot and pulled some fur from the bars. This looked an awful lot like the fur that was on the cuffs at the well when I first walked into the forest.

Every wall had claw marks, blood, and vicious memories. I shuttered, there were layers and layers of skeletons and rotted clothing. They were pulled into the corners, years old. I backed away, scared to death, I brought my hand to my mouth and wanted to scream. Was this the monster everyone said Andy was? I had heard about the wolf that walked the forest. And it was Andy. In the process of my terror I had kicked the lantern over and the flame went out. I was in complete darkness.

I screamed and started to run. I was knocked back when I collided into a person. A hand grabbed my arm hard, the led me out, they wouldn't let me get to my feet. I was thrown into the castle, and the dungeon door slammed behind me. I turned to face a very angry Andy.

I was on my hands and knees, almost begging for him to not be mad. "We have fucking told you not to go in there!" He screamed in my face.

I had to words, I cowered down, now knowing the monster he actually was. "What's going on?" I heard Ashley ask from behind me.

"The bitch went into the dungeon!" Andy was still screaming. He had grabbed my arm and pulled me to my feet.

"What? Why did you do that?" Ashley asked.

I just cowered away, trying to get Andy off of my arm. "What the fuck did you see?" Andy spit.

I finally pulled away, becoming angry. "You're a monster."

Andy backed away some, his face falling into sadness, but it was almost like he knew, but never wanted to admit it.

"Kenna..." Ashley moved toward me.

I jerked away from him. "I want to go home."

Andy got close to me. I knew that they had a meeting about what I had asked CC, a few days ago. "Then leave." He spit.

He stormed away, Ashley attempted to chase after him then turned back to face me. "Jake will take you back to your village. You never have to come back." I started to walk away when he grabbed my arm gently. "What he is in there, has nothing to do with the man he is toward you." He whispered.

"It doesn't matter anymore." I pulled away violently and he moved in front of me.

"He still loves you, he always will."

"He killed my mother."
