Make Me Feel Alive

Truth?

Ashleys POV

I know she really liked the noodles, But she liked those little crab things too. Well, her and Toby both did. And the eggrolls. Actually, I think she just really liked all of the chinese food. I
gazed down at the menu, seeing the sesame chicken.
Well fuck, I couldn't buy all of it.
Then again, yes I could.
And I did.
It was Friday, and I was gonna surprise Morgan for once. I know she'd been a little stressed this week over something, but food always seemed to make her feel better, probably because she kept skimping on her meals.
And the one time I'd even hinted at buying some groceries for her she'd nearly bit my head off.
I sighed, and twenty minutes later I was standing at her door with an armload of food burning my arm. I raised my hand to knock, but paused, hearing her yelling at someone.
"... Ford that! Yes, I know what I make per week, I look at my paychecks," she sounded aggravated. "If I could send in that much I wouldn't be calling!"
She was on the phone.
And she was getting very snarky with someone.
"Fuck you too!"
Well hot damn.
I gave it a few minutes, then knocked, hoping she wouldn't slam the door in my face for just popping in; maybe this hadn't been as great a idea as I'd thought.
She pulled open the door, and I hesitated, seeing her bloodshot eyes.
"I brought food," I told her. "Everything chinese you could possibly want."
"Okay," she said, looking tired, and stepped back to let me in.
I pretended not to notice as she hastily wiped at her eyes.
I glanced at the coffee table, seeing papers and a calculator sprawled across it, her laptop opened to her bank statements from what I could see.
Well.
Maybe I should have called beforehand.
I sat the food down on the counter, then stepped over to her cabinets in search of plates. I glanced back, seeing her stuffing all the papers into an envelope and then close her laptop.
"Here, I even got some of this for Toby," I said, dropping two small pieces of chicken in his food bowl. He crept over slowly, eyeing me like I was trying to poison him or something.
Only in my thoughts.
He sniffed, then took one piece in his mouth and ran off.
"You didn't have to do that," Morgan told me as she came into the kitchen.
"Well, he's gonna have to like me eventually," I told her.
"Yeah, I wouldn't bet on it. He hates everyone who comes in here, no exception."
"Hey, be positive. He's not completely demonic."
She sent me a look as she slipped around me to the fridge. "You want some soda?"
"Sure, babe." I finished setting all the food on the counter, and she turned around, only to stop and blink.
"Did you order the entire menu or something?"
"Kind of." I frowned down at it. "I couldn't decide what to get so I got all of it."
Morgan chuckled, handing me a soda.
"Since when do you drink diet anything?" I asked, plopping down on the couch.
"It was on sale," she told me, sitting beside me. "It was like two cases for four bucks! I couldn't turn that down."
"Yeah, but this diet stuff isn't that good for you if you drink it a lot, " I told her, popping the tab. "And you're perfect the way you are."
She started to send me a look, but my second comment seemed to save me, so she just shook her head.
I chuckled, watching as Toby crept back for his second piece of chicken.
"Here," I handed her my chopsticks. "Try with this."
"No way. I eat with those and Tobys gonna get all my food," she grumbled, looking tired.
"Nah, you just gotta hold them right." I laid my hand over hers, directing. "And here, you just kind of scoop."
She lifted, and the fried rice gave a dangerous wobble before toppling.
"You see?" she chuckled as the rice went everywhere, and Toby darted over to check it out.
"You just gotta practice," I told her.
She just shook her head, taking back her fork. "I'll stick with what I know."
Morgan and her safety.
"So how was the doctors?" I asked, and she hesitated, fork halfway to her mouth.
"Um, I had to cancel," she shrugged.
"Why?" I asked curiously. I think it had just been a check up anyway, but still.
"I had to make some calls, and it was just a check up so it wasn't that important."
"Check ups are important though."
"Only if you're sick or something, and I'm totally fine." she told me. "Besides, as much as I drank last weekend, they'd probably try to tell me I need a new liver."
I grinned. I
don't think I'd ever seen a girl drink so much and handle it so well.
And that little trip to the bathroom.
I shifted.
I liked drunk Morgan almost as much as I did sober Morgan.
I cleared my throat, then took a long swig of diet drink before my other head got me in trouble.
Morgan lifted a noodle, letting it dangle down for Toby to gnaw on.
It was hard to think of her without thinking of the little devil. He really wasn't that bad, but if looks could kill he would have murdered me already.
"Hey, so I have a concert coming up in a few weeks that's out of town," I started. "So I'll be gone for a couple days. Thursday to Sunday probably."
"Oh. Okay. Is it the ones with Escape from Grace?"
I blinked, then nodded. I forgot she worked at their studio, and probably knew their schedule better then anyone. Hell, she probably knew I was gonna be out of town before I did. Which reminds me.
"Why don't we do something this weekend? I know a great little place out of town that has some badass music. Most of the bands who play there are undiscovered, so it's pretty nice. Plus they sell my clothes."
Morgan sent me a sideways smile. "That must be cool, having your own clothing line."
"It is," I shrugged. "It makes me feel good that people like it enough to wear it."
She turned to face me, sitting cross legged as she sat her plate to the side.
"What made you wanna be a desinger anyway?" she asked, and I hesitated before setting my plate to the side.
"I dunno, I just always liked it," I leaned back in the couch. "I was always doing stuff with clothes. Hell, I helped with my high school football uniforms and all that shit."
Morgan propped her chin in her hand, her bright eyes studying me.
"You look like a designer, so I can see it. I'm glad your dream came true. Don't hate me, but how long has your line been out?"
I shifted to look at her, spreading my arms around the back of the couch. "Why the sudden interest. Huh?"
"I just wanna know more about the person I'm sleeping with is all," she said, Toby hopping up into her lap and wiggling around until he was situated. She petted his fur, giving the furry bastard a mohawk.
"You could always just google me and see what comes up." "But that's not really fair, is it?" she shook her head. "It means a lot more coming from you then just reading it on some fan page. Plus I would know way too much, and some things are better left private."
Huh.
I reached other, twisting a lock of her hair between my fingers. "True. But that means I get to ask you some stuff too."
She smiled slightly. "Fine. Ask away."
I felt my lips twitch. "A game of truth, huh? Alright. How long have you not been a virgin?"
She rolled her eyes at me.
"That's not the questions I meant, Ashley."
I loved it when she said my name in consternation.
"So? You still gotta answer me."
"Ugh, fine. Since college, I guess."
"Really? I would've figured before that."
She flushed slightly. "I was really nerdy and lame in high school. I didn't get a boyfriend till my roommate in college showed me how to actually fix my hair and how to use a makeup brush."
I looked at her curiously. "Why didn't your mom do that?" "She didn't have time, " Morgan shrugged, obviously uncomfortable. "She worked two jobs so we could keep going; teaching me how to do my makeup wasn't one of her priorities."
"Why ---?"
"Tsk! You've used up all your questions," she told me, poking my arm. "It's my turn."
"Okay," I waited. This should be good.
"How did you end up in your band?"
I chuckled. "Craigslist."
Morgan looked at me, startled. "Really?"
"Yeah. Funny, huh?" I scratched my nose. "I saw an add, called, and now I'm a bassist for the band."
"That's actually kind of cool," she did look interested. "I thought it was just all creepy old guys wanting to kidnap and murder people."
I laughed. "Andy could be a creepy old guy."
She wrinkled her nose at me. "Dog or cat person?"
I glanced downat Toby where he was nestled between her thighs.
"Uh, I'm more of a dog person."
I swear the cat glared at me.
"You seemed like one." Morgan nodded. "You have some, don't you? I heard them barking last time."
"Yeah. Killer and Tokyo."
Morgan looked like she wanted to comment but thought better of it.
"My turn. Why'd you start dating that tool Tony?"
"Trevor? Because he was nice."
"Nice?" I raised a brow at her. "He couldn't have been that good in bed."
She frowned at me and pinched my arm. "Sex isn't always that important."
"So he was awful."
Her deepening frown only confirmed that.
Useless tool.
"So? What kept you with him? You gotta answer."
She pressed her lips together, looking down at Toby, his tail curled possessively around her arm. "I didn't know anyone here when I first moved here for my job, and I met him a this little café where I used to get coffee. We became friends and then started dating,"
"You shouldve dumped him when you got settled."
"He was all I had," she muttered, looking away, her face becoming red. "I'm not very good at making friends, so it was just easier if ... If he was around. He didn't used to be that bad, but he figured I was a pushover so...." she trailed off, shaking her head.
She sent me a glance.
"My turn." she frowned as she looked at me with a new determination that was starting to make me worry.
"Why are you here?"
"What do you mean?" I knew what she meant. I didn't know why I was here. I'd just been thinking of her all day and had wanted to see her, surprise her. I hadn't seen her since Sunday.
She was turning the tables on me, though. I was supposed to be making her uncomfortable, not the other way around. Clever girl.
Morgan wasn't one to be underestimated.
"Here," she motioned around, and Toby shuffled at the movement. "With me. I don't really seem your type. Sure the sex is great, but the casual thing?"
Eh, well, fuck.
"Well. I like you, is all," I shrugged. "You're cool to hang with and I can listen to you talk without wanting to rip my ears off. We can hang and you don't pry, try to make this more then it is --- you know how to have a good time. I actually like being around you."
She blinked at me, startled by my response. I was being probably more honest then I should be, but she held herself in such a low esteem, and she didn't need to do that anymore. Her legs were too amazing for that.
I chuckled, and leaned forward, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "Don't look so surprised, Morgan. You're amazing and you know it." I lifted her glasses off her nose. "And you should never think any less of yourself."
I cupped her face, letting my thumb skim her trembling lips. "You're so beautiful," I murmured, and leaned forward, brushing my lips against hers before settling firmly. She parted her lips, and my tongue delved into her mouth, greeting hers familiarly.
She lifted a hand and curled it into my hair, and I heard a thump as Toby jumped from her lap. I let my hand rest on her thigh as I pulled her closer, craving her skin against mine.
I knew I was at a dangerous point myself; if I let this go too far and made love to her instead of fucking, I would tip the balance.
And I'd swore I'd never get attached to anyone.
I felt her hand skim up my chest beneath my shirt, and then she was pulling it over my head, and I was kissing her again, crawling over her and pressing her back against the couch.
I pulled at her tank top until I had it peeled off her skin, leaving her bare, and I kissed her throat, my fingers slipping up her side to cup her breast, flicking her nipple with my thumb.
She gasped as I trailed kisses down her skin, opening her jeans and wiggling them down her hips until I had them off. I took one breast in my mouth as I brushed her panties out of the way, my fingers circling her entrance.
I could already feel how wet she was, how much she wanted me, and the thought made me even harder.
I slipped a finger inside her, and she moaned, arching her skin against mine, her hands tight in my hair.
She could turn anyone on with the sounds she was making.
I pulled my fingers away, and jerked my jeans and boxers off hastily. I hardly took the time for a condom I was so ready to be inside her.
She reached for me as I settled myself above her, and her eyes met mine as I slid inside her. Her lips parted in pleasure, her eyes closing.
I leaned down, my mouth capturing hers as I kept a slow, almost painful pace, knowing exactly which angle to hit to make her squirm.
"A-Ashley," she stammered, clutching at me, her nails digging into my back. I leaned down, and felt her lips at my shoulder, my muscles quivering under her touch.
Fuck, I thought, feeling her muscles clench around me seconds before she lost it, her lips crushing mine as she reached her climax.
I groaned, finally allowing myself to slam into her, losing it myself.
Fuck, I thought again, my forehead pressed against hers. I was breathing hard from the effort, and she wrapped her goddess legs around me, keeping me completely against her, every inch of our skin touching so it was hard to tell where either of us began.
I pressed my lips against her cheek.
I was fucking up so bad.
"That was ... Different," she whispered after a few seconds, as if any loud noise would ruin the moment.
"Good different?"
"Yes," she turned her cheek against mine. "Very good."
I chuckled, and pressed another sloppy kiss to her cheek. "Ah, Ashley!" she giggled, and I raised a brow, grinning down at her as I rose to my elbows.
"What? Don't like it?" I teased, and smothered her face with more kisses. She wrinkled her nose as she turned away, and I was liking the way her body felt against mine when she laughed.
I let my lips drop to her shoulder and I nibbled lightly, intent on leaving a mark.
I was feeling a little territorial.
"Does this mean you're sleeping over?" she asked, her nails biting into my forearms.
"Mhmhmm," was the only response I gave her.
