Living Dead

I checked my calendar once more, and smiled as the days passed by.
"You seem more happy then when my mother comes to visit." John said, wrapping his arms around my waist. I make a big green 'x' on today's date and turned to face him.
"I see your mother every weekend... I haven't seen the boys in two years." He chuckles and places a big kiss on my lips.
"I know. Now, I need to go get a hair cut, cause..." I pass my fingers through his longish hair and pull him near my face. With a smirk on his face, he cups my butt, kissing me passionately on my lips. "Maybe I should I keep it." He whispers and smacks my ass. I yelp, smacking his arm, laughing.
"Go get a hair cut." He smacks me again and runs before I could smack him back. Tina starts to cry and I groan, she just got to sleep for an hour. I walk towards her room and she was already standing, and rubbing her eyes. "Hey baby." I cooed and smiled, earning a giggle from her and her arms reached for me. I kiss her chubby cheek and she wraps her arms my neck. "Hungry?"
"Bottle." She said and we walk towards the kitchen. I place her in the high chair and start to warm up her milk, and put a little bowl of mini Oreos in her table. She smiled and gets one with her small fingers, and places them in her mouth. My phone rings and I reach for it, and balance it on my shoulder.
"Hello?"
"Adamara? It's ANDY."
"Hey Batman! What's up?"
"Nothing much. Just wanted to talk to you."
"Awh, that's sweet. How you been?"
"I've been good, just about to release a new album."
"I've heard! I can't wait to listen to it!"
"Yeah, it's the best we've done."
"You guys always improve every year."
"That's how it's gonna be little Ada. Anyway, how are you?"
"I'm good. Just busy now a days. I'm finishing schooling this year."
"congrats. I heard you're no longer single."
"I'm a married woman, Andrew, and a mom."
"Well won't you look at that. Someone got busy after we left."
"John is the best. Tina is adorable."
"With a mother like you, of course she's gonna be."
"Andy, I am taken, calm down."
"Hey it's coming from the mouth of your best friend. How's Sia and Lani?"
"They're great actually. They're still single so you know..." He chuckles. "I'm not joking, last boyfriend Lani had,was a year ago. Sia hasn't had a boyfriend ever since high school."
"Well looks like Jinxx and Ashley have a shot."
"What about CC?"
"He's so hooked into this one girl, they're practically dating now." Tina started to cry and I picked up her little spoon she had dropped. She throws it and I knew that was the sign for wanting to get out. "Baby girl?"
"Yeah., she's anxious for everything. I think she takes after John, but I can't say."
"Yeah.. Yeah you believe that."
"Watch it Andrew."
"Don't call me that.."
"It's your name."
"it's Andy, Adamara..." I chuckle and place Tina in her play crib. "What?"
"You sound sooo white."
"Thanks." I laugh and he does too. We spent hours talking on the phone about the stupidest shit ever, but it was a best friend conversation. I was lucky to have those boys as my personal saviors. I could never be grateful, and their friendship was more than I could ever ask for.
