The new girl in town

i walked home slowly. i didn't want to believe that Johnnie cheated on me with my best friend... i called Russia but she didn't answer. walking home heartbroken... i felt something drip on my face. then again on my shoulder... then i realized it was raining... perfect... i took five more steps and i got drenched not only by the car driving past me, but the sky was like a waterfall; the rain was coming down so hard around me i felt like i was in a sad movie. i didn't have anything to cover up with so i just walked like it wasn't raining at all. i saw a park out of the corner of my eye so i decided since i had nothing better to do, that i would go to the park and swing my sorrows away like i used to do. i sat there swinging thinking of all the times that Johnnie and i came here to talk. he was my favorite person. i realized i had started crying because a sob escaped my lips. i felt a hand on my shoulder and looked over to see a guy who looked about my age.
"Are you ok?" he asked
"Yeah... i'm fine" i wiped under my eyes with my thumb and stood up.
"I'm Zeke..." i looked closer and realized that i recognized him.
"You go to high school with me don't you.?"
"i think so." i looked at him up and down and then it hit me
"You used to date Nala didn't you?"
"Yeah... for a very short time."
"cool she seems like a sweet girl."
"she was, i miss her lots." there was a few minutes of silence before he asked,
"So why are you here?"
"well i just found out my boyfriend cheated on me with my best friend..."
"hmmm that hurts doesn't it. i remember when that happened to me" he said sitting down on the swing next to me.
"What about you Z, why are you here?"
"i was bored..and on my way to a coffee shop, you want to come with me?"
"Sure!"
