Let Shadows Die

Andy stood talking to some fans as he smoked a cigarette outside by the backstage door. Their fans had always been loyal and accepting of their style. He and the rest of the band loved them because of this fact, but he somtimes wondered if they would feel the same if they knew the truth.

Since he had met Hope he'd found himself wondering this a lot. She was so kind and loving. She had never judged him for being what he was even when he had fed from her. Even now, as she was waiting backstage with Ella, he could feel her thinking of him.

He finished his cigarette and went back inside. When he entered the green room where she was, she looked up and smiled at him. He walked over to her and set down beside her. He pulled her onto his lap and kissed her.

"You two should get a room." CC said in a teasing voice as he walked into the room.
"We had one until you walked in and interupted." he replied.
"It's almost time to go on." CC said. "Do you think you two can pry yourselves apart for a little while?"
"I think he just wishes he could be with someone as sexy as you. Instead all he has is his hand." Hope said looking up at Andy in mock seriousness.
"Yes, Hope, you stole Andy from me. I'll never forgive you." He replied in a girly voice.

She and the guys had been teasing each other like this since they'd met. He was glad the guys liked her so much. They hadn't always been so accepting of Juliet.

After the show, they all boarded the bus. He was happy Hope would be with them for the rest of the tour. She was giving up a lot just to be with him. He would do everything he could to make sure she didn't regret it.

As they settled in for the night he and Hope lay talking in his bunk.
"Andy, can I ask you something?"
"Of course."
"Is it possible for a human to become what you are or do you have to be born that way?"
"It's possible, but it's a complicated process. Why do you ask?"
"I was just curious. I was thinking about maybe someday letting you change me so we really could be together forever."

Andy was stunned for a moment. He realized he'd forgotten to tell her something important the night he'd marked her.

"Hope, my love, you don't have to worry about that. You stopped aging the night I marked you. Unless you're seriously injured in someway you can stay human. You're now semi immortal because of my mark."
