Escaping Grace

"Vale is gonna be home soon!" I said excitedly as I watched Andy move across the kitchen. "She's back tomorrow!"
"Cool, CCs probably overjoyed."
"And Clarke! And they're bringing cookies with them! You'll die when you get to try them. They're really that good." I took the bowl of ice cream as he slid it to me. "And then we have our concert coming up. Our last one." I dipped my spoon into the bowl.
"And to think you hated me at our first one," Andy chuckled, leaning against the counter in front of me, bowl in hand.
"I didn't hate you, necessarily. I was just mad at you." I corrected. "You were being an ass."
"I'm always an ass," he gave me a grin. "It's one of my best qualities. And Jake says there's a party tonight downtown for New Years. It's exclusive so its not gonna be like one of Olis."
I pursed my lips, stirring my ice cream a moment. "Sure, might be fun. Usually me, Vale, and Clarke just all sat and watched the peach drop."
"The what?"
"You know! Georgia peaches? The peach drop on new years..."
"Oh, okay," Andy still had no idea what I meant. I suppressed my smile, and turned, glancing at the TV.
"What time?"
"Whenever you finish your ice cream," Andy told me, spoon in his mouth as he walked to his couch. "And all of its additives."
I looked down at my bowl. It was coffee ice cream, which I knew was weird since I didn't like coffee. I had some sprinkles and gummy bears tossed in it, as well as some whip cream.
"You have never tried frozen gummy bears! And you won't know its good until you try it!" I told him.
"No. I'm not trying anymore of your concoctions," he told me, and I stood, traveling over to where he sat. I plopped down in his lap, and got a huge spoon full of gummy, sprinkles, and whip cream.
"Andy?"
"Hmm?"
"Open up!"
"What?"
I shoved the spoon in his mouth. He looked like he was about to die.
I grinned.
After a grimace, Andy swallowed, and he didn't look impressed.
"That's awful."
"Don't be dramatic, it so isn't."
"It is too."
"A matter of palate," I told him, and pressed a cold kiss to his cheek. He was always so warm it was like living with the sun.
He took my bowl away and sat it on the end table, currently still lampless, and wrapped his arms around me.
"As much as I hate your weird food combinations, and your obsession with Disney movies and your ability to torture me with you and Ashleys weird friendship and ---."
"What's your point, Andy?"
"That, despite all your quirks, I am so glad that I met you," he brushed at my hair. "And I can't imagine my life without you now."
I smiled, pressing my face against his shoulder. "I couldn't either."
And its true. I couldn't imagine any future now without him involved in it, no matter how far we looked. Sure, we might break up eventually and I would be absolutely devastated and never leave my room again, but that was --- hopefully --- very unlikely.
"Come on," I wiggled my way out of his lap, and turned, grabbing his hands and pulling him to his feet, "we have a party to go to, don't we?"
"Well," Andy wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close before I could move away, "we could always be late."
I tilted my head back to look at him, narrowing my eyes; I hated being late. "How late?"
"Like we could show up for the last ten minutes of the year," he murmured, pressing a kiss to my ear. "And then leave again." He trailed down to my shoulder. "No one the wiser."
He tugged at my jeans, and if I hadn't known what he'd meant before, he made it very clear now.
This was why I was probably going to have to invest in birth control.

Sorry its taking so long to update, I get always get caught up in one project or another, but I'm going to try to get back on track! I kind of have an idea of where to go from here with Andy and Leah, so stay tuned! ;D
