Escaping Grace

Party Hard (2)

I came out twenty bucks richer thirty minutes later.
I giggled, wrapping my arms around Andys overly warm waist. "Guess who's buying breakfast?"
Andy laughed, and slipped his arm around my shoulder. "You should drink more often," he said, wiping stray glitter off my face. "Or we should party more."
"Don't get your hopes up too much!"
We staggered our way out of the crowd, and the music suddenly dropped.
And paint.
Neon colored paint suddenly showered from the ceiling in patterns, and I shrieked as it splattered all over me.
That didn't just happen.
Not my BOOTS.
I looked up as Oli started to laugh, and my expression seemed to make it very clear how funny I thought it was.
"It washes out, princess. Don't have a tizzy. Besides, it looks good on you," he flicked some pink paint off my shoulder. "Now you fit in more."
"Are you saying I looked bad before?" I wiped green off my face.
"No, you looked very bangable. Kudos to Andy."
Andy didn't look impressed. Though he did look very colorful.
"Maybe you should start doing colored paint instead of black at concerts," I teased him, trying to lighten the mood. I ran my fingers through the yellow paint on his shirt, then reached up and drew a smiley face on his cheek. "That's much better."
He chuckled after a moment, and ran his hand through his hair, his hands coming away blue stained.
At least we looked pretty and colorful.
This wasn't so bad.
I glanced at my phone, seeing it was way after two AM.
Time had definitely flown by.
We wandered our way back upstairs, Andy keeping a tighter hold on my hand this time. I flopped back onto one of the expensive couches, and Oli handed me another drink.
"Are you trying to get me drunk?" I took a large swig of whatever he had given me; I couldn't even taste how awful it probably was now.
"Nah. I just like watching Andy try to babysit," he laughed at Andy as he took the drink from me.
"I think four is enough."
I pursed my lips, debating on whether or not to argue. "Where's Sky High at?" I asked, seeing the blonde wasn't attached to Olis hip anymore.
"I called her a cab," he shrugged. "Girl was wasted."
"Really?" I blinked at him.
"Yeah. Wasted girls aren't any fun when they pass out on you." he was eyeing the crowd again, and I tilted my head as I looked at him. Was that him being nice or what?
"Yo, I gotta go," one of the other anonymous VIPers said, stepping over to where we all sat. "Hey, Andy, nice to see ya around again."
"You too, man." Andy nodded at him.
"See you at the studio, Lee," Oli stood and followed him a few feet away, so I turned to Andy, slipping my legs in his lap; my heels were starting to hurt.
"Did you know about the paint?"
"No. I would've warned you. I know how finicky you are about being dirty," he chuckled, His hand resting in one big splotch of red on my jeans.
"If this doesn't wash out I'm going to spray paint your apartment pink," I threatened him. "And then invite all the guys over."
"Even Nate?" He grimaced.
"Why do you not like Nate so much?" I asked, frowning at him. They hadn't spent any time together that I knew of, so I couldn't fathom why they didn't like each other.
Andy thrummed his fingers against my leg, as if debating what to say. "I just don't agree with how he ... Does stuff, I guess. Especially calling all his mates up in the middle of the night to come get him because he's spent all his money on booze and women."
"He hasn't done that in weeks!" I protested.
Andy glanced away, and ran a hand through his hair again. "That's not the point. We... Ah, well it doesn't really matter."
I think it mattered. I started to speak, but another paint-splattered friend suddenly appeared, and I slipped my legs out of Andys lap so he could greet them.
He was only getting out of that conversation for the night.
If I remembered of course.
Yeah, I probably wouldn't.
I stretched, feeling slightly tired. I hadn't stayed awake this late in months, not to sound like a granny or anything. Was I a granny? I probably acted like it half the time.
Eh, now I had to pee.
I hopped to my feet, patted Andy to let him know I was moving, and stepped out to find the bathroom. I wandered downstairs until I found it, then wrestled my way through the crowd at the mirrors to find an empty stall. The gauntlet to the sink was a whole other adventure.
Fifteen minutes later, after I had greeted a few fans and managed to make it upstairs, I was ready to leave. It was late, I was tired and my buzz was starting to wear down.
I found Andy and Oli by the main bar, doing some hardcore shots.
"Well, you are like a fish," I commented as I stepped over to them as they finished their third round.
"Hey, angel," Andy wrapped his arm around my shoulder immediately, and pressed a sloppy kiss to my cheek. Well someone was at their limit.
"I think we should get going," I called to him. If he passed out there was absolutely no way I could carry him.
"What? The nights atill young," Oli protested at us.
"Yeah, but if he passes out I'll just have to leave him here," I glanced up at Andys colorful face. "And our hotel is a few blocks off."
"Hell, I'll drive you guys back. No big deal."
"That's okay," I said hastily; I'd seen him drink way too much to think that was a safe alternative.
"Cmon, Andy, let's go back to the hotel," I pulled on him. How he had gotten so wasted when I'd only left him for maybe twenty minutes was beyond me.
Andy eyed me a moment, as if debating how far he could push on staying.
"Andy, let's go now," I ordered, forcing a sterner tone.
"You certainly know how to wear the pants."
I sent Oli a frown. He didn't need to make this worse.
"Not if I can get in them first," Andy suddenly wrapped his arms around me, and I scowled, ducking away from him. I locked my hand around his wrist.
"It was nice to meet you, Oli," I said, "but we'd better get going."
Oli gave me a half salute. "Aye aye, cap'n. Take care of my man here, okay? I haven't seen him around since he and his ex were together."
So didn't even want to hear that.
"I'll take care of him," I assured him, dragging Andy down the trembling steps, my ears starting to ache from the constant shaking bass.
When we finally made it outside, I let my breath go. The night air was cool, and it helped with my overly warm skin. I slowed my pace as we left the warehouse district and more into the city, and I threaded my fingers through Andys.
"Why did we have to leave? We were having a good time!" he complained, staggering beside me.
"Its like 4 AM, Andy. I'm tired."
"But the liquor was flowing!" he was literally pouting.
"You'd had enough to drink."
"No I hadn't." Four year old Andy was steadily approaching.
I sighed, and stopped at the red light, waiting for it to change so we could cross the street.
"Leah," he wrapped his arms around me. "Do you know how much I adore your face?"
My lips twitched. "Do you know how much I adore you?" I smiled up at him, and he gave me a drunk grin. He leaned down to kiss me, but I pulled away as the light changed.
I drug him across the street, and we made it to the hotel before it was quite five AM.
We stumbled into the lobby, and the look the receptionist gave us was memorable. I mean it wasn't like we were both drunk and stumbling around in paint and glitter splattered clothes smelling of alcohol and too much partying in a rather upscale establishment.
I shuffled Andy into the elevator with a sigh.
Maybe tomorrow we could try out the Fifty Shades scene.
The elevator dinged, I dragged the now sleepy Andy to our room, and shoved him in. He was starting to get heavy.
"Okay, strip," I ordered, slipping out of my boots. Andy just grinned, and he suddenly lifted me up against him, smothering my face in kisses. He stumbled back and landed on the bed.
"Oof! Andy, stoooppppp!" I struggled, but his arms were locked around me.
"No," he kissed me again. "I like kissing you"
"Not when we look like a paint canvas," I managed to roll off him, but he didn't let me go. He chuckled, and pulled me down beside him, nuzzling my neck.
"Andy," I was getting exasperated. "Let me up."
"No!" he shook his head. "I don't wanna let you go."
"It's just to change clothes!"
"I don't want you to go anywhere," his voice was muffled from my hair, but I could tell he was about to fall asleep. "Don't leave me."
"I'm not going anywhere, Andy," I sighed, wrapping my arms around him. "I'm not going to leave you."
Andy mumbled another moment, wrapping around me like sticky paper.
"What?" I asked, stroking his hair out of his face, the smiley face glowing in the dark.
"I love you, Leah."
I stilled, staring at him, his eyes closed as he finally started to nod off.
What did he just say?
