Escaping Grace

I was going to murder Ilana Kova.
And her snoopy little daughter.
And their little dog too, if they had one.
I sat on the couch, bristled with anger as I read Rockstar Magazines article. How dare they? how did she even know half of the stuff she'd wrote? I was going to sue them until SHE was the one with anger issues and living in her own fucking little world.
My eyes swept to the beginning of the article for what had to be the fourth time.

"Earlier this week I had the pleasure of meeting with Escape from Graces frontwoman Leah, and Black Veil Brides frontman Andy. To me, it did appear that there was some sparks going on between the two; however, considering the abused state of Leah Kabinovs face, some would assume she and her ex boyfriend were not quite done with each other."

I was going to fucking kill her.
Here she lead up to some quick background info on me, like my family was originally Russian and how many siblings I had and my father was military, very public information, even how he had passed away when I was fifteen from lung cancer, though he'd never smoked a day in his life. That was none of anyones fucking business. I narrowed my gaze as I continued.

"It also seems that while the pair denies it, there is some chemistry. A very reliable source saw Miss Kabinov threatening a girl Mr. Biersack had recently spent the night with, and several fans have said Mr. Biersack has been very possessive in return, not allowing male fans too much time with her. Mere coincidence? Or chemistry?"

I would run her over with a steamroller. And i hadnt threatened Clara, id smacked her.
Was this a rock magazine or a gossip column?
I sat on the couch and seethed. She discussed how our bands were getting along well, even mentioned CC and Vale being an item, before switching seamlessly into my personal life again.

"Now, I do not personally know Miss Kabinovs history with her mother, but a reliable source confirmed that they do not speak due to the physical and mental abuse a young Leah suffered at the hands of her mother. Due to how private she tends to be, I did not reach out to Miss Kabinov for a comment."

I would set her house on fire. And if she had dared to call me for a comment I would have called her editor and shut her down before she wrote her first sentence.
Oh God this was awful. How the fuck did she know anything about my mother?
Clara.
My brain clicked, and I clenched the magazine. Clara had gotten to my brother, and I bet he'd spilled something, at least enough for her to get a good article for her mother.
I pressed my lips together. None of this was anyone's business, especially not hers. She had no right to pry into my life, to do research on me like this. It was my family, my business, my shame to deal with, and I didn't want or need it told to everyone just so some shitty journalist could get paid for another week.
This was too much.
I reached for my phone as it rang, seeing Andys name. Had he seen this yet?
"Have you read Rockstar Magazines article about us?" I demanded before he could speak.
"Uh, no, I never read those things. Why?" he sounded startled, and I could hear the guys in the background laughing and carrying on. I think they were having a guy day or something over at his place.
"She had no right to write what she did!" I fumed. "I'm going to sue her."
"What did she write? Probably just stuff about us being together, right?"
"Among other things!" I stood restlessly and began to pace. "She wrote about my family, about stuff she has no idea about! And I do not have anger issues, thank you very much! oh, and by the 'abused state' of my face, she said me and my ex boyfriend clearly weren't done with each other! She has no fucking idea about anything!"
Andy was silent for a second, as if processing.
"I'll look at it online," he sighed, "Don't do anything about it yet, that's just what she wants. One time she printed that Ashley was seeking a mothering figure due to his lack of emotional attachment to his own as a kid, like someone to replace her, and he almost had a canary."
"I did not!" I heard Ashley protest in the background.
I ran a hand through my hair, striding aimlessly around the apartment. Vale was with Clarke doing Christmas shopping for their family, and I never knew what Nate was doing. They all had plans on flying down to Georgia for Christmas this year, so I was going to man the apartment alone. Well, maybe not alone.
I sighed, and forced myself to stop freaking out. I would have to med myself down after this or I'd have another panic attack.
"Babe?"
"Yeah?" I hadn't realized he'd been talking.
"I asked if you wanted me to come over?"
"Oh, no, it's fine. Spend some time with the guys. I'm just pissed off, and I'll be damned if I EVER associate with that magazine again."
"Just don't freak out ---."
"IM NOT GOING TO FREAK OUT!"
"YOU'RE DOING IT NOW."
I scowled at my phone. "Fine, I won't freak out." I took a deep breath. "But what did you call for before I started ranting?"
"I was going to suggest some takeout tonight, if you're not plotting your revenge."
"Takeout sounds great," It sounded awesome, actually.
"My place or yours?"
"Mines fine. Vale has plans or something tonight with Clarke."
"Cool. How about eight?"
"that's okay. You pick whatever," I added. He was usually pretty great when it came to takeout. He always got the good stuff. Me, I agonized over it because I was crap at making decisions.
"Okay. I'll see you then, and don't do anything hostile."
"Do I seem like I would?"
"You sound like you're about to break out your broomstick and turn her into a cow."
My lips twitched. "It would serve her right."
Andy chuckled. "I'll see you tonight."
I tapped my phone thoughtfully against my hands.
Cruella de Ville, I thought, I'll show you who can be the wicked witch of the west.
