My Life

I wake up to see Alex asleep next to me. I sigh and get up. I put on my favourite black dress and combat boots. I walk downstairs and eat some frosted flakes. I put my earplugs in and listen to Trade Places by Automatic Loveletter. Within a minute, my earplugs are pulled out.

"Morning mom." Says Amy.

"I thought you wouldn't be home till tonight." I say putting on one earplug.

"Well I missed you."

"You want something, and don't try to lie because I said the same thing to my aunt."

"I just want to hear some of your stories from high school."

"What secrets are you looking to unfold?"

"Who did you date in high school before you and dad started dating?"

"Two guys." Three actually, "The first one was a guy named Oliver and the second was Kellin."

"Tell me about Kellin."

"Kellin was a romantic. He brought me irises and serenaded me plenty of times. He had bright blue eyes and dark almost black hair."

"And what happened to you two?"

"He went missing a long time ago, haven't seen him since that one Halloween night; he was the Joker to my Harley Quinn. Why, you having boy troubles?"

"No, just curious. Did you and him have a song?"

"Two really. He'd always sing to me Iris, even on the first day we met. But on our first date we danced to Chasing Cars."

"How long has it been since you last saw him?"

"Almost fifteen years, why?"

"Just wondering, I'm gonna go take a shower."

"Okay." That was weird. I go upstairs and bring up coffee to Alex. He's been out all week with the guys, but I at least got some alone time. I kiss him on the forehead and return downstairs. I start making pancakes as I get a phone call. It's an unknown number.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hey it's Jake, Ella wanted to know if you wanted to go out for a double date tonight. You don't have to if you don't want." He says.

"I'd love to, where and what time?"

"Le Pichet, we have reservations at eight."

"Great, can't wait, bye."

"Bye." I hang up and a big smile grows on my face. I see Andy and Johnnie come down, they sit in front of me.

"Morning." Andy says and takes a sip out of my coffee.

"Morning, Johnnie do you have any plans for tonight?" I ask. He shakes his head. "Okay, then you're staying home with dad."

"Wait why do I have to?" Johnnie asks.

"Because I'm going out to dinner with some old friends of mine, and Andy was invited too."

"But it's gonna be so awkward now that I know."

"I'll tell your dad soon."

"Tell dad what?" Alex asks walking into the kitchen with Amy behind him. "And why's Andy here?"

"I was just dropping in to say hi, I'll see you at dinner Scar." Andy says and walks out the door.

"So what do you have to tell me?" Alex asks.

"That breakfast is ready and I'm going out tonight." I say.

"Where are you going?"

"Out to dinner with some old friends. You've been out all week with your friends so... I'll be back probably around eleven, but then again... Don't wait up." I walk upstairs and decide on what I'm going to wear tonight. I decide on my light blue dress and my Cinderella like glass slippers. I feel like I'm slowly turning back into that seventeen year old girl I used to be.


Andy's POV

After I leave Scar's house, I get a call from Jake.

"What's up?" I ask.

"How'd last night go with Scar?" He asks.

"Great actually, she's starting to be the real her again."

"I invited her out to dinner with me and Ella tonight, she seemed pretty up for it."

"Yeah she invited me to go with her."

"Does that mean the plan is working?"

"Most definitely Jake."
