My Life

Today's Alex and my anniversary, I wake up to him calling me to tell me that.

"Happy anniversary!" Alex says.

"Can my anniversary present be a divorce?" I ask.

"No silly. So I'll see you for lunch at one, I was thing we'd go to the Italian restaurant downtown." He says.

"Alex I'm not having lunch with you."

"Of course you are, we always have lunch on our anniversary."

"I'm not going."

"I'll make you a deal; you have lunch with me and I'll sign the divorce papers."

"You mean it?"

"Unless you don't want me to..."

"Yes I do, I'll see you at lunch."

"See you then."

I hang up the phone and get ready. I take a shower and curl the tips of my hair. I put on my white dress with little black flowers and my brown leather boots. I do basic makeup and walk downstairs.

"Where are you going looking all fancy?" Andy asks and kisses me. I didn't even realize the guys were over.

"I'm getting my freedom back, I'll be back later." I say.

"Andy I have to go, my new girlfriend wants me to pick her up from the mall and take her for lunch. Nice dress Scar." Ash says.

"Okay see ya." Andy says and Ash leaves.

"Hey guys." I say and they all wave.

CC comes up to me and hugs me. "How's the baby doing?" He asks.

"Sam's doing good." I say. I hug Andy, "I'll be back later."

I grab my keys and leave the house. I drive down to the restaurant and walk inside. I walk up to the hostess.

"I'm looking for the Gaskarth party." I say, she nods.

"Gaskarth party for two, come this way please." She says and I follow her to the table where Alex sits. He stands when he sees me.

"You look beautiful." He says and kisses my cheek.

"Thank you." I say and we both sit down.

"You know after fifteen years, I'm still head over heels for you." He begins.

"Alex, I'm only here so you'll sign the divorce papers, nothing more." I tell him.

"At least enjoy this meal with me."

"That I can do."

"So what looks good here? I mean other than you."

"I think I'm gonna get the Caesar salad, what are you getting?"

"I think I'll get the seven layer lasagna." I take a sip of my water. "How far along is the baby?" I smile.

"Twenty three weeks, Ella bought him a gigantic teddy bear and a stroller. I told her it was way too much, but she..." My words trail off when I feel Alex's hand on mine. He stares at me with a wide grin, it's kind of a mixture of cute and creepy. "Anyways, what's up with you?"

"Works been boring, and I've been hanging out with the guys a lot. They've been trying to cheer me up. Oh and I've missed you more than words can say."

"I miss our friendship too."

"I miss your touch and the way you bite your lip when you're focusing on something. I miss the way you move strands of your hair behind your ear when I get your attention. I even miss your dorky little laugh."

I move my hand off the table and give him a fake smile. The waitress bring us our food and we dig in. After we're done eating, Alex makes me go on a walk with him.

"Alex I'm enjoying this day and all but I need you to sign the papers like you said you would." I say.

"You don't get it do you? We are never going to get a divorce, we are perfect for each other. I'm going to spend the rest of my life with you." He says taking my hand. I try to get released from his grip but his hand gets tighter.

"Alex you're hurting me." I whimper.

"I'm sorry." He says and everything goes black.
