Hide Your Heart

Mae sat on her bed, running her fingers through Frida's tangled fur. It was Sunday and she had a dream of hanging out with Andy all day but of course Kaya beat her to it. She went out with him last night, lying and saying she was going out with Jacob, but Andy met her at the movies a few towns over.

Kaya, Chris, Sandra, Mark, and Bobby all kidnapped Andy from her and took him to the mall. Jacob had work so Mae had nothing to do.

The sounds of Rise Against, her one guilty pleasure band was playing throughout her room. Frida snuggled up against her side and purred as Mae kept petting her.

Her phone buzzed and she picked it up to see a text from Andy.

Andy<3: I miss you :P Wish we were hanging out instead of everyone else..

Mae giggled and quickly typed her response.

Mae<3: Miss you too! Is Kaya making moves?

Andy<3: Yep. This should be fun. Come over tonight?

Mae<3: Sounds like a plan.

Andy<3: Good- I think we're leaving now. I'll tell you when we get back and you can "take a walk".

Mae<3: I'm sure I'll here about it when your back. No need.

Andy<3: Haha, too true. See you then.

Mae<3: :)

She turned off her music and turned on her TV. She clicked on a horror movie and picked Frida up so she rested on her chest.

After a little while, she started humming a tune to herself. A few chords began popping in her head so she jumped up and grabbed her black finished guitar.

She started strumming a few chords and that escalated into her writing an entire progression and that moved into what would be a song. She already loved it and knew it was going to be a pretty monumental song for her.

Mae wanted to create music: it's all she wanted out of life and one day she would do it. She was sure of it.

A knock on her door shook her from her work and she looked up to see Kaya. She bit her lip and flopped down on Mae's bed.

"Oh my god, Mae, he is so perfect." She squealed, covering her heart with her hands. Mae could barely hold back her eye roll.

"Who?" Even though she already knew.

"Andy.." She trailed off.
"Did he do something?" Mae raised her brow, wanting to see if her sister would lie.

Or if Andy was cheating.

"N-no." Kaya frowned. "I tried to kiss him but he moved away but still. Mae, I really like him."

"Really?" Mae sighed. "Do you know anything about him?"

"W-well I don't know." Kaya closed her eyes. "I might also have a crush on Chris." This sparked Mae's attention.

"Hmm." She mumbled, putting her guitar aside. "Which one do you like more?"

"I don't know. Andy is sweet but Chris.." Kaya shook her head. "He's just hot! I feel like he's more my speed and Andy is.."

Mae bit her lip, "Andy's what?"

"He's yours." Kaya grinned. "Do you like him?"

"What!? Of course not.." Mae gulped.

"Seriously Mae?"

"Are you sure you don't like him?" Mae warned.

"No." Kaya frowned. "But I would back off. You need a good guy, especially after that asshole-"

"Let's not talk about him." Mae shook her head.

"So?" Kaya smirked.

"Yes." Mae giggled. "I like him. He drove me home Friday night, and he got Frida with me. I met his parents and he asked me out. The only reason I was hesitant was because of you."

"Awh, Mae." Kaya leaned over to hug her sister. "Your sweet, but think of yourself sometimes. Andy and you are actually perfect for each other. I've thought it since we all met, he never stops looking at you."

Mae chuckled, "So I just want to let you know.. Clear the air, I guess. He took me to the movies last night and I lied to you."

Kaya chuckled, "It's okay, Mae. You just made my choice way eas-" Kaya cut herself off as she snickered.

"What?" Mae asked. Kaya nodded to her window and Mae whipped around to see Andy. She giggled and opened it up. He climbed in and sat down next to Mae.

"What's up?" He grinned as she shoved him.

"You're really lucky I just told her everything." She said as he slipped his arm around her shoulders.

"I called you three times! I was scared." He whined, looking down at her. He stuck his lip out and she leaned up to kiss it. Kaya watched them with wide eyes, and a smile on her face.

"Well, Andy. I'm sorry I've been flirting with you." Kaya chuckled.

"It's all good." Andy laughed. "Sorry I'm so devilishly handsome." Mae shoved his shoulder before leaning into his side.

"No one likes a cocky asshole." Mae said, smirking up at him.

"You do." Andy grinned, leaning down to kiss her neck.

Kaya chuckled and stood up, "Okay you two, I'll leave you. Love you Mae."

"Love you too Kaya!" Andy screamed as she walked out of the room. Mae laughed and pushed him back on her bed. "So this is your room.." He laughed, looking around at the bare white walls. He leaned over and grabbed a Polaroid camera off her night stand. "Your such a hipster."

"I like having my pictures right away." She said, laying her head on his chest. He lifted the camera up and kissed her cheek before taking the picture. It came out the front and Andy grabbed it. He waved it back and forth to let it dry.

Once the film developed, he grinned. "That's adorable." Her eyes were closed and his hair was shading his eye. "Put it up on your bare ass walls."

She giggled and stood up, taking the picture from him. She took some tape from her dresser and placed the picture above her bed. "Good?"

"Perfect." He said, picking up Frida. "So Kaya took that pretty well, hmm?"

"Yeah she did." Mae said, flopping down next to him after putting her guitar back in its case.

"She likes Chris."

"My dad!?" Andy exclaimed.

"Shut up." She said, shoving his shoulder again.

"I'm gonna have bruises from this relationship." He chuckled.

"Awh, I'll kiss it better." She giggled, kissing his shoulder, loudly. Andy flipped her over. He lifted her shirt up and placed raspberries all over her stomach, as she laughed her ass off. "Andy! That tickles!" He looked up at her and winked before crawling up her body and placing his mouth to her's.

"Mmm, someone had ice cream." He chuckled as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Hmm, I had to do something while you were at the mall.." She giggled. He placed one more kiss against her lips and pulled away.

"So Kaya and Chris huh?" He said, burying his face in her neck.

"Guess so." Mae said, laying her head on his. Andy picked up the camera again and snapped another photo.

"This ones mine." He said, waving the picture again. Once it developed he kissed it and then placed in front of Mae's lips. "Kiss it." She laughed and pressed a kiss to it, leaving her lipstick mark.

"Cute." She said as he pressed it to his chest.

"I know." He grinned, "We need to get to my house. My parents miss you."

"I need to eat dinner." She said, yawning.

"Eat with us!" Andy exclaimed. "We're watching the Bengals game."

"Shocker." Mae smirked. She stood up, "Should I bring Frida?"

"Crow misses his girl." Andy said, kissing Frida's head. She licked his chin and he smiled. "Just like I missed mine."

"Oh can it, Biersack. We went out last night." Mae laughed. "Hate to say it but you've got to go out the window. Parents and all.."

"I get it. Your ashamed." He said, picking up Frida and opened her window. "See you in minutes." He said, pecking her and hopping out of the window onto her roof. She shook her head and slipped on her shoes before running down the stairs.

"Guys I'm eating dinner with Andy next door." Mae said, biting the inside of her cheek.

"I thought he was your sisters?" Mae's mother raised her brow.

"Change of plans! He's Mae's now!" Kaya yelled from the kitchen.

"Well be home...oh who am I kidding, your the responsible one. Be home whenever." Her dad laughed.

"Okay, love you guys!" Mae smiled, running out of the house. Andy was outside the door and she only shook her head at him. "Couldn't wait?"

"Nope. Let's drink tonight." He wrapped his arm around her neck as she took Frida from him.

"It's a Sunday.." She raised her brow.

"Fuck." Andy grumbled. "Next weekend, your going to a party with me." She snickered and looked up at him as they walked across the yard. "What?"

"Your friends are going to hate me!" She exclaimed.

"They won't." Andy said, ducking down to kiss her.

"They will." She groaned, pulling away. "I'm not punk rock enough." He giggled, and the sound seemed to light up Mae's entire world.

"Yeah but your all the woman I need." He said, pulling her back and placing a heated kiss on her mouth. With Frida in her arms, Mae found it difficult, but the kiss still swept her off of her feet.

"Hmm." She mused, "You taste good." He laughed and slung his arm around her neck. He let his gum come in between her teeth so she could see. "Oh is it fruity?"

"Why don't you find out?" He smirked as she raised her eyebrow.

"You think I won't?" She leaned forward and kissed him, deeply, before taking the gum right from his mouth. Andy felt weak in the knees as he looked down at the girl he once thought so shy. She was definitely perfection in a human being and Andy felt like he was falling for her.

He swallowed, "Uh-I.."

"Speechless?" He nodded. Mae only shook her head and walked forward with Frida in her arms. He followed after her and they walked into his house.

As Amy and Chris walked up to them and immediately pulled her to the couch, she couldn't help but feel so happy. She had thought the move was going to be the worst thing that had ever happened to her, but it turned out to be the best.

But would it all be ruined by Andy's social circle?

"You could just spend the night.." Andy laughed as Crow licked his face. The couple was laying on his bed, their cats on their chests.

"My dad didn't give me a time to go home.." Mae smirked.

"That settles it then." He stood up and walked to his dresser. He grabbed a pair of boxers and one of his tee shirts. "Wear these." He chuckled as she looked up at him and Frida sat on her face.

"Are your parents going to be mad? We have school tomorrow!" She mumbled against Frida's fur.

"They'll be fine, just wake up early enough to go home." He shrugged.

"Why don't you come to my house and leave through the window?" She asked.

"Because that's no fun." He pouted, throwing the clothes at her. She let Frida go and sat up, laughing.

"Fine, but set your alarm for six!" She said, standing up and grabbing his clothes. She walked into his bathroom and quickly changed, leaving her bra on. "I'm using your toothbrush!" She yelled.

"Okay!" Andy said back. She brushed her teeth before walking back out to see him on the bed in only his underwear, posing sexily. "How do I look?" He smirked.

"Ha-ha, go change you idiot." She laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing his head.

"I'm changed." He said, smirking,

"Then brush your teeth." She said, laying down on his bed. She slipped under the covers and smiled as Frida and Crow crawled up to her.

She grabbed her phone off the bedside table and shot a quick text to her father, telling him where she would be. She knew he wouldn't care since he let her do anything she wanted ever since Eran died.

Andy climbed back in bed with her and picked Crow up. Frida had already curled into her side
and smiled down at them. He flicked his light off and slid his arm around her waist. Her chin moved to rest on his shoulder and she sighed.

"Goodnight Andy." She whispered, tangling her hand in his hair. He smiled and kissed as light as a feather behind her ear.

"Goodnight Mae."

Notes

Looongg chapter! I know you all thought Kaya would freak out but I wanted her character to be Mae's friend, someone she could confide in. Kaya was there for Mae when Eran died and when the unspeakable boy ripped her heart out (You'll find out what that means in a bit!) And so I wanted her to be more happy for Mae than angry! Plus I think of Kaya as my actual best friend in the real world, Sara Jane, (A little bit different SJ haha) and I know she would have reacted like Kaya did! So there is my long explanation ahah!
