My Saving Grace

When I wake up, I force my eyes open. Something seems different, why isn’t Callie jumping on me or yelling at me to wake up? I sit up and look around, this is not my room. I’m in a king sized bed that has batman covers and pillows. The walls are painted black, with a big batman symbol on the wall. The room is a mess, with black leather pants and skinny jeans all over the floor. I even spot a pair of batman boxers. The memories of last night flood my mind. Andy took me to the hills. We watched the sunset, and then I asked him to sing to me. He sang a song called saviour, his voice was good, perfect actually. And then I started to cry, I don’t know why, just all the bad things of my life came to mind. How I’ve been lonely and bullied all my life, about my dad and mom and just everything. And then I fell asleep, I do remember being carried but I fell back asleep. I throw the covers off of me and I stand up. I’m still in my red skinny jeans and red hoodie. I go over to the door and open it slightly I poke my head out. The long hallway is empty.

“Hello?” I call out. “Andy?” I say walking down the hallway a little bit. A door opens and a girl with long light brown hair walks out. She’s looking down at her phone and music is blaring through her headphones. She jumps when she sees me and pulls the head phones out.
“Hey.” She says awkwardly. Her eyes are the same color as her hair.I look around then back at her.
“Where am I?” I ask. She laughs and then gives me a confused look when she sees that I am serious.

“Oh my God, please tell me Ashley did not drug you and bring you back here. Ashley! Get out here, what did you do to this poor girl?”I laugh at her.
“No, I was with Andy…..” Her jaw drops. A shirtless guy with an outlaw tattoo across his stomach stumbles out of a room down the hall a bit.
“So Andy drugged you?” She asks shaking her head. I laugh at her again.

“No. No one drugged me.” I say as, the guy called Ashley comes up beside the girl.
“What girl, I didn’t do anythi..” He stops when he sees me. That was the voice from last night. He smiles at me widely. I hear a door open and I turn to see Andy. He is in a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and he is shirtless. His black hair is dripping wet, cascading over his forehead.

“Oh, you’re awake.” He says rubbing the white towel over his hair, making it messy and stick every which way.
“You sure he didn’t drug you?” The girl asks again. I laugh and Andy glares at her.
“Shut up Amy.” He growls.
“Well why was she asking me where she is at?” Amy asks Andy. Andy gives an irritated look.
“Because she fell asleep, so I brought her back here.”
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” I ask raising my eyebrows.
“I tried. You wouldn’t budge. I swear I tried.” He says putting up his hands in defense.
“Yeah, sure you did.” Amy says in a sarcastic tone.
“Amy” He warns. All she does is roll her eyes.
“I’m Amy by the way.” She says turning to me. “I’m his sister.”

“Yeah he told me that he had a sister. You’re 15 right?” She nods.
“How old are you? You don’t look that old.” She says with a smirk.
“I’m….Um, 16” I say awkwardly, looking at Andy.
“Dang!” I hear Ashley say, and I blush deeply. Andy turns around and smacks him hard in the chest. Andy glares at Ashley.

“Can we talk alone?” Andy asks gesturing to the room that I came out of. That must be his room, he did mention that he loves batman. I nod and go in with Andy following me. He shuts the door and I sit at the edge of the bed.
“Care to explain?” I ask looking at him. He smirks. “What?” I ask. He shakes his head. “Nothing.” I cross my arms over my chest.
“You fell asleep, so I tried to wake you up but you wouldn’t wake up so I brought you back here. I didn’t want to take you back to your house because I didn’t want your brother finding out. So you slept in my bed and I slept on the couch. That’s all.” I sigh in relief.

“Thank you, you didn’t have to do that. So this is your house?” I ask. He nods.
“Well, it’s our house.” I give him a confused look, and he laughs. “It’s the bands. We all chipped in to pay for it.”
“You don’t live with your parents?” He sits beside me on the bed and shakes his head.
“No. They didn’t want to move from Ohio, so I moved here in L.A. with Amy.” He says rubbing the back of his neck. I nod. He seems like he doesn’t want to talk about it. The door slams open and a guy with black hair and a bandana on his head comes in.

“Foods ready.” He says excitedly. He stops and looks at me.
“Hi, I’m CC.” He says extending his arm.
“I’m Jessica.” I say shaking his hand. He nods and fly’s out of the room telling Andy to come on. I stand up and pull my phone out. It’s 10:30 a.m.
“Well, I have to go.” I say walking to the door.
“Wait, why don’t you stay for breakfast? Please?” He asks, with puppy dog eyes. I sigh and nod.

“Ok, but it can’t be too long.” He grins and stands up, walking towards me. He stops in front of me. And to my surprise he puts his hands on my waist. He places his forehead on mine and looks into my eyes. He slowly presses his lips against mine. He pulls away for air and grabs a batman shirt, slipping it on. We go downstairs, and into the kitchen. Andy introduces me to everybody, and we all sit down to eat. I’m in between Amy and Andy, with Ashley sitting in front of me.

“So, how did you get those bruises on your face?” CC asks slowly. Oh…I almost forgot about those.
“I...I got into a fight with someone at my school.” I say looking down at my hands.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Did you win?” CC asks. I shake my head.
“No……Look Andy I have to get going Brandon’s probably waiting for me…” I say standing up. He sighs and stands up with me.
“Hey wait can I have your number? Maybe we can hang out some time?” Amy asks pulling out her phone.
“Yeah sure” I say, and she shoves the phone in my hands. I quickly type in my number and I give her the phone back.

As he drives me home, there is nothing but silence. He glances over every once in a while, but doesn't say anything. We arrive at my house and he gets out with me. He leans up against his car and holds his arms out. I fall into him and I wrap my arms around him.
"Goodbye Andy, I'll call you later." He smirks and gives me a kiss.
"Promise" he says smiling.
"I promise." I smile back.
