I woke up and instantly had the urge to sneeze. Alura, of course, was laying on my chest, so sneezing was not an option. I held my breath and thought of anything but my sneeze. Have you ever tried to do that though? Kind of like trying to think of anything put a purple elephant when someone says don't think about one. Or not moving when someone says not to move. It's the hardest thing in the world! I put my free uncaptured hand up to my face and took a deep breath through my mouth, which wasn't my best idea. My chest and stomach exploded with my sneeze. I laid my head back as Alura jumped out of her sleep and as any jolted awake person would looked at me like I was the most annoying the on the planet right then. I laughed.
"That isn't funny Ashley! Ugh!" She laid back down and I couldn't help but laugh even harder as her hand went to her chest and the other arm went across her eyes.
"It's hilarious!" I said and as her hand came down to slap my bare chest I grabbed my stomach and laughed harder. She got up and walked into the bathroom. I continued to laugh until I felt a glob of something on my face. I looked at her and saw her applying a very colorful semi permanent hair dye to my face. I groaned and pushed her away.
"Now that is hilarious!" She said and I grabbed the hair dye from her. With her hair already turning blonde from all the sun she had been getting in the past week, I plastered a glob of the pink hair dye onto her head. She squealed and no matter how hard she could try, the pink would not come out in my black hair. So instead she smeared pink down my chest and onto my stomach, across my OUTLAW tattoo. I looked at her and continued to put pink hair dye in her hair. The damage was already done. I might as well finish it.
"Not so funny huh?" I asked and continued to put the dye in her hair.
"Not as funny as you walking around as pink as my skin is!" She said and I laughed. It would be funny, the two of us walking around as pink people. She grabbed the hair dye back and tried to squeeze some more into her hand. She looked at me when none came out.
"What's wrong? No more to smear on me?" I asked and she shook her head.
"This was to dye Sammi's hair!" She said and I laughed. She looked so upset and I just laughed and laughed. She ran into the bathroom and I followed her. I looked in the mirror to see pink hand prints and my stomach pink form all the hair dye.
"It's like I put my war paint on with pink instead of black…while I was drunk." I said and she laughed a little. "Don't worry we can go out to get more." I said. Just then there was a knock at the door. I ran into the bedroom and threw on a pair of swim trunks. I opened the door to see Sammi and Jinxx standing there.
"What the fuck happened to you brother?" Jinxx asked and Alura, naked as ever walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom to throw on some clothes. I blocked the view more so from Jinxx than Sammi. Sammi shook her head seeing Alura's, now pink, hair.
"Alura decided it would be funny to smear pink hair dye on me, since I woke her up with a sneeze."
"I would do the same thing if you sneezed on me." Sammi said and Alura appeared in a bikini ready to head out to the store to pick up more hair dye.
"I didn't sneeze On her!" I said emphasizing the word on clearly. "I just jolted her awake with my sneeze!" I defended and Jinxx laughed.
"Well might as well go out and get more. The store is right down the street so by the time we get back her hair will be nice and pink and you should be cleaned up mr. pink." Sammi said and walked off with Alura who had her purse this time.
"You got screwed over this morning with the color." Jinxx said and I just glared at him.
"It's your fiance's color choice for the month." I retorted and he laughed.
"Yea, guess you should be thanking Sammi for that." Jinxx sat on the suite's couch while I hopped in the shower to wash off the hair dye. Needless to say, even if I scrubbed, I would still turn pink either way. I got out of the shower and dried off.
"Well, today is the last day. What are we all planning on doing?" Jinxx asked as Andy, CC, and Jake came in. The other girls had obviously gone out with Sammi and Alura.
"Well, we could just chill, or we could go out to eat dinner. Go to the beach again, maybe out shopping at some of the shops. We'll ask the girls when they come back." I nodded in agreement as I got on some street clothes. Alura, Sammi, Ella, and Juliet all got back chatting away happily. They had some exciting news for us.
"There is an art fair down the street on one of the board walks! We should go and support them!" Alura said as she bleached Sammi's hair. We all were happy to go and as soon as Sammi and Alura had finished their hair, complete with an olive oil nutrients replacement for Sammi's hair, blow dry, and straightened. Alura was happy to put on some street clothes since her skin was feeling a little bit better, and off we went.
The art fair was huge! We got there and Alura headed straight for the stands. I followed behind her as she looked around. First job as a boyfriend: Always be prepared to carry shopping bags. I know in this day and age, where equality is a big thing, you would think women would want to carry their own bags. Nope, that is still a boyfriend's job.
"Look Ash it's perfect for you!" It was a glass zebra print star wall hanging. I smiled as I looked at it. It was really well made and I reached in my pocket to grab some money. Before I could even take my wallet out Alura had exchanged money and the woman was already wrapping up the star. I looked at Alura and she smiled. "I always buy something for everyone." I shrugged and looked around the table. They were amazing works of art and glass blowing wasn't the safest profession in the world.
"I'll just have to buy something for you then." I said as we walked around to the other tables. There were necklaces, earrings, paintings, shirts, you name it. I noticed though that Alura didn't really wear jewelry. I didn't know if she liked paintings or not, but judging by the way she walked away from the stands quicker than most I guessed not. I saw that she stood by the purses and wallets more though. I took a good guess that she like to buy things that she could use. She ran off with Sammi and the other girls soon, which left me alone, or with the guys, to buy her something. As I shopped around they talked with me.
"Why not get her a glass figure?" Andy suggested and I shook my head.
"No, she doesn't really like things she can't use."
"How do you know that?" He asked and I shrugged.
"She pays more attention to things that she can use, like purses, sun glasses, shirts, shoes, things like that. She likes things that are aesthetically pleasing, but she doesn't really, inspect them like she does useful things." I looked over at Andy through my sunglasses and went back to what I had been doing.
"Well, what about hair pins, or clips, or ties?" Jake said pointing to some across to the next stand.
"She might use those. Alura uses hair clips to clip back her bangs." I walked over there and while the other guys looked around the tables to the right and left of the one I was looking at I tried to decide what I was going to get her.
"You know she looks great in earth tones." Jinxx said walking up to me. I looked around the table for browns and greens.
"Teal goes great with brown." The artist said and put the two together to show me. I looked at the combination and then at the green and picked those up to look at them better. They had a great quality to them, they weren't cheap, and neither was the price. Jinxx pointed out a few more that looked like they would fit Alura great and we grabbed some similar hair ties and pins. I heard Alura down a few stands squeal like a little school girl. I paid the artist and thanked her before I went to go see what had Alura so excited.
"Oh my God! They have a wallet too! Little cell phone dangles! Look at this! She ran to the other side of the stand and picked up a hoodie. It was some grey creature with big black beady eyes and black markings on it's white stomach. "I want it!" She said and looked at the price and then at the wallet. She frowned and I could see all the happiness slip out of her. "Shit." She whispered and she put the hoodie back down. I frowned at seeing how unhappy she was and as she walked away from the stand I walked over picked up the hoddie and after looking through them I called Sammi over. Threw one on her and picked out the size that fit her. I paid the vendor for the hoddie and shoved it into the bag I was already carrying. We spent the rest of the day at the shops, purchasing things and just having fun. Finally night was falling and it was time to go back to the hotel to pack all our stuff for the flight home in the morning. We all packed and then gathered in Andy's room for the final night here. I still hadn't shown Alura the hoddie that she had wanted at the art fair. Once we all sat down and got settled I pulled the bag out from where I had hidden it in Andy's room.
"Alura, I got something for you today." I said and took out the little clips, pins, and hair ties from the bag. Her face light up and I knew that I, with the help of Jinxx, had done good.
"Thank you Ashley!" She said putting them in her hair and looking at each one. I smiled at her.
"You're welcome. I also got you this." I said and I pulled out the grey hoodie from the bag. If I had thought that her face had lit up before, I was sadly mistaken. She jumped up out of the chair she had been sitting in and flung herself into my arms.
"Ashley I love it!" She screamed into my ear and I laughed. Everyone was smiling at the two of us as I was released from her hold and she took the hoodie. She quickly put it on, zipped it up, and ran around the room singing, what I guessed was the theme song from the show. She jumped on Andy's bed and happily disturbed everyone who had been sitting on it by jumping up and down in circles. I was caught off guard as she jumped off the bed and onto my arms. I caught her, but I didn't stay on my own two feet. I found myself on my back on the floor the next time I opened my eyes. She was happily tilting her head back and forth.
"Ashley! You are the best boyfriend a woman could ever have!" She said and hugged me. I laughed and I couldn't help but hug her back. Her happiness was contagious.
"Yea, I know." I said and got several pillows thrown at me.
"Arrogant!" Juliet said and I laughed. I had the greatest girlfriend in the world! Soon it was time to head off to bed and everyone was saying goodnight. Tomorrow was the day that we would get up and leave our vacation, and I would have to leave my girlfriend on a plane to Philadelphia. I knew now how Jake felt whenever he had to leave Ella. It sucked.
