We Are Unbreakable

Kimbers POV

I woke to the sound of my ringtone, blaring one of CC's drum solos.
I rolled my eyes as I reached what felt like miles to touch my phones smooth surface.
The brightness of the screen made me squint my eyes, but they adjusted and I saw Riley was calling me. I pressed talk and then speaker.
"This better be good Riley. It's like 8:30" I said annoyed at being woken.
"Do you have you laptop near you?!" Riley half asked, half demanded.
"Yeah, hold on. Why?"
"Cause I need you to see this and tell me that everything will be alright!" She said sounding worried.
"Why? What did you do?"
"Just, check Bryan Stars' channel!" She said, her voice going up an octave.
I sighed as my laptop hummed to life and I opened YouTube.
Bryan's channel was in my 'what to watch' and I scrolled through his channel until I found what Riley was talking about.
A video labeled 'Riley Purdy - If Today Could Last Forever (cover) (My Thoughts)'.
"Ohh" was all I could say when I saw it.
"Watch it Kimmie. I need to know what you think" she said with urgency.
My hands shook as I pressed the video and silently watched.
"Riley's hidden talent, who took her for a singer? She has made a scene with a cover of 'If Today Could Last Forever' and here it is" Bryan said in the video before he played a clip of Riley singing.
It was beautiful.
I never knew Riley could sing like that. She was so good! This could turn this into something!
I looked at the stats and the video already had over 20,000 views and it had only been up for seven hours. I suppose anything BVB related would gain more, but still, it wasn't them. She still deserved every single one of those views.
"I never knew you were so good Riley!" I said finally.
"Really?" She said kind of shocked.
"Yeah! Sweetie, how the hell did you get Bryan to post this?!"
"I didn't. Ashley did. I'm so confused on how to feel right now..."
"Why? Please don't tell me you got mad..." I said worried.
"Well... No, not really, I was just concerned for what would happen if things went bad or I changed my mind."
"Riley, this won't go bad. You are over thinking this! Just have fun with it! You should be thanking Ashley for finally giving you the push you needed."
"I know, you're right as always. Well I better go. You're coming in to work later, yeah?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'll be in tonight."
"Okay, see you then" she said, then hung up.
I sighed pushing the laptop off me and slowly getting out of bed.
CC was still sleeping. His day at the studio with Seth stressed him out, but was happy that everything turned out.
Yesterday I spent the day looking up schools for Seth and today we were going to go check out a couple of them and try to decide.
I trudged down the hall to Seth's room and shook him to wake up.
"Mmhmm, what?" He mumbled.
"We're looking at schools today. Look presentable" I said pulling the cover off him.
"Hey! Can't I go with CC again?" He whined.
"Nooo, you still need an education. Get up, get dressed" I said with a playfulness.
"Yes mom" he smirked.
I stared at him for a moment longer then went over to his bed and cradled him in my arms.
"Ummm, mom?"
I couldn't really explain my actions. It was the mother in me.
"Seth, I'm just glad you like it here and you don't resent me because I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you."
"It's okay mom. I could never resent you. Now, are you gonna let me change?"
I giggled at him and let him out of my arms.
"Yes, I will" I said walking towards the doorway and shutting the door behind me.

Rileys POV

I felt better after I got off the phone with Kimber. When I woke up this morning Ashley had already left and I had a message from Bryan.
I was so shocked Ashley actually leaked it to someone, but Kimber's right. I needed a push.
I texted Bryan allowing him to post the full audio of me singing, then messaged Ashley.

Hey babe, I saw the video and I just wanna say thanks. I need this. You were right.

He would get a kick out of that.
I decided to treat myself and go to Malibu before work tonight. I felt like getting tattooed. It had been so long and my list of what I wanted to get had been growing.
I still want my massive sugar skull piece, I want a wing across my shoulder and coming down my arm. I want to get Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon because he is so fucking cute and...
Well I shouldn't get ahead of myself.
I should call Jackson and see if he has an opening...
I sat on one of the couches in the lounge room with my laptop to the side of me. I found Jackson's number, tapped call, then speaker so I could look up lettering.
He answered on the third ring.
"Hello?"
"Hey Jackson, it's Riley Purdy. How are you?" I said politely
"Oh hey Riley! Wow, haven't seen you in ages! I've been good, you?"
"Things have been good. Listen, I was wondering whether you had any vacancies today...?" I asked nervously.
"As a matter of fact, I do. Someone cancelled yesterday. What do you have in mind?"
"Well..."

I lay on the table as Jackson swiftly moved the needle into my skin. My God it was hurting, but it's always worth the pain.
I had managed to get to Santa Monica by 10 am and it was now 2 pm. That was a long time for me to sit still.
"This is turning out so good Riley. You are going to love it!" He said looking up at my tense face. "Riley you have to relax. I know it's a high sensitivity area, but you're doing great and we're nearly done."
"Really?! Awesome. Can't wait to see it! I hope Ashley will like it."
"I'm sure he will. I'm surprised you're getting this. Does he know?" He asked.
"Nope. I literally just decided I want a tattoo today. I have a list and it's just getting longer, so you'll be seeing a lot more of me."
"I hope so. You're a blank canvas! I love those."
"Well, you'll pretty much be the only artist to tattoo me. The stars on my hand I got done in Vegas ages ago."
"I know. Well, you could always model for the shop when we've done more. You'd be great for it" he commented.
I laughed at him. "You're not the first to say that."
After another half hour, Jackson put down the gun and sighed.
"We. Are. Done!" He said wiping over my tattoo.
"Yes! Can I see?!"
"Go for it kiddo" he said motioning towards the mirror.
I rushed over to the mirror and stared at my stomach.
The lettering sat perfectly above the waistband of my jeans and would allow me to wear crop tops to display it. The front of my hips was the perfect place for this tattoo.
"Do you like it?" Jackson asked as he watched me admiring it.
"I fucking love it! The bits filigree and the lettering is perfect! Abso-fucking-lutely amazing!"
Jackson laughed at my joy. "Come on, I'll wrap you up then you might get to work on time."
"Oh shit, I nearly forgot. Lucky I just put my work stuff straight on" I said as he covered my tattoo and I pulled my top down.
"Okay, so when is the next one?" He asked.
"Next is the sugar skull piece. I can't put that off any longer."
"I have an opening in two weeks. Send me some ideas you have and I'll come up with something, okay?"
"Awesome. I'll see you then!" I said making my way out of the shop.
I couldn't wait to show Ashley.

idk, I'm building stories for them and working it out as I go.
i want to work towards Seth going to school and kinda building a life outside of bvb. and with Riley I'm getting her to find herself again and pull out of her slump.
