We Are Unbreakable

Kimbers POV

I was cleaning up the kitchen when I heard the front door open and fast footsteps approaching.
“Mom! Oh my God! I had the best day ever! CC introduced me to the others and they are so awesome! Jinxx and Jake are so nice and are crazy good. They were just sitting there casually rocking out” Seth burst as he came running into the kitchen. “And Ashley is the best! He was teaching me all these riffs and chords and Jinxx and Jake were showing me the solos they were working on! I wanna be just like them!” He said. His little face lighting up with so much joy.
He came up and hugged me then went to hug CC before disappearing upstairs.
“I take it went well” I said drying my hands and going over to kiss CC.
“Very well actually. They love him. I told them that he’s your son.”
“You what?!”
“Well they were gonna find out sooner or later Kimber. Besides, I don’t think you realise how much he looks like you” he said slightly frustrated.
“I suppose. How did they take it? They aren’t mad at me or anything?” I said. I could feel the worry leaking into my tone.
“Why would they be? This is something that happened way before you met me or moved to LA. The guys can be understanding. We all have our pasts. Look at Riley, she used to be a stripper. I don’t think any of us saw that coming” he said taking a seat on one of the stools.
“Good. I just don’t want them to think of me any differently. I’m glad they like him though, he seems to really like them” I said smiling and remembering Seth’s face.
“He’s already part of the family. That’s what you wanted” CC said reaching across the counter to grab my hands.
I smiled at him and went to sit on his lap.
“And just think, in a few months, we’ll have one of our own” I said placing one of his hands on my stomach.
CC just smiled and hugged me tightly. Everything was going to be okay.

Ashleys POV

I could not explain how happy I was to see Riley act like herself again. I missed her like crazy and finally we could move on from the baby drama and live again.
After we showered and got ready for bed, I waited for Riley to go to sleep before getting up again. I was intrigued by her recording. It was haunting and beautiful.
I had gone back downstairs to listen to it again.

There’s a time, in every life, when the pages start to turn and there’s lessons to be learned,
Don’t know why, we try to fight it, but there’s nowhere left to run, nothing else that can be done.
Tomorrow’s getting closer, I’m not ready to forget.

The first verse was everything she had been saying.
I wish she would just release it.
Maybe I could. If I was going to do it, I’d do it right.
I quickly went back upstairs and grabbed my phone before darting back downstairs.
I scrolled through my contacts until I came across the person I needed.
It may have been late, but I knew they’d be awake.
I pressed call and I let the phone ring.
They picked up on the fourth ring.
“Hello?” Said a tired voice.
“Hey Bryan, its Ashley Purdy.”
“Oh, hey Ash. Wasn’t expecting a call from you. Why you calling so late?” He said, I could almost see the coy smile.
“Look, I actually have a favour to ask. I need you to review a song. You don’t need to make a video of it, unless you think it’s good enough to go on your channel.”
“Is this something of BVB’s or is it something solo?” He asked curiously.
“It’s actually Riley’s. She has always had an amazing singing voice, ever since I met her, but never wanted to show it... Until now. I think it’s the right time and cause you’re so close with us, who better to hear it first.”
“Wow, I’m honoured. Who else has heard it?”
“Just me. She is reluctant to show anyone else, but she needs this. We’ve been going through some stuff recently and I think this will help. I’ll email it to you and let me know what you think before you do anything, okay?”
“Yeah, sure. Sounds good. I look forward to hearing what Riley sounds like. Didn’t take her for a singer” he commented.
“Neither did I, but that’s how I met her weirdly enough.”
“There’s a story. Anyways, umm why don’t you send it to me and I’ll have a listen. I’ll call you back and let you know what I think, okay?”
“Awesome. I’ll send it to you now.”
“Okay, I’ll call you back in ten” he said hanging up the phone.
I sent the audio file through and waited.
It was the most gruelling ten minutes of my life.
What if he hated? What if he released it, knowing it was bad. He surely wouldn’t do that to Riley... Or me. He’d know I would hur-
I stumbled on my thoughts when my phone rang.
“Hey, so what do you think?” I asked straight away.
“It’s good. It’s amazing in fact. Why hasn’t she released this already?” Bryan said excitedly.
“She’s scared. It’s new territory for her.”
“Well as the experts, we should release it. I’ll do an intro, like for Bryan Stars news, then I’ll show like a twenty seconds worth of audio. Then if we get a good response from that, we release the whole thing.”
“What about Riley? Should we tell her any of this?” I asked.
“I’ll message her myself when I upload it, but maybe warn her. She’s your wife, I shouldn’t take the reins on this” he said sounding nervous.
“Yeah, she’s still been funny with me. I always feel like she’s mad at me for something. Only now she has had a slight change in attitude and is warming up to the idea of pursuing something else” I explained.
“Why? What’s been going on with you guys?” He asked.
“Uhh, long story short. She can’t have kids, so she needs to fill up time with something else. This could be it. But I know she got a call from some modelling agency after she did the billboard for Youth & Whiskey.”
“Really? Wow. That’s amazing. She could do it.”
“She could, but I don’t know. The bar had just re-opened. Was probably bad timing.”
“Yeah. Understandable. Well, umm it’s getting late. I’ll make the video for it tomorrow and post it, so should be up soon. I’ll text you when it’s up.”
“Okay. Thanks Bryan. I’ll talk to Riley tomorrow morning and see what she thinks on all this.”
“Okay, talk to you tomorrow. Good night” he said then hung up.
I sighed. I was relieved that I had done something that might actually push Riley in a good direction and get her working on something.
I made my way back upstairs and climbed into bed next to Riley. She stirred at the weight change and wrapped an arm around me.
I smiled down at her sleeping face. It was still cute that she slept best when I was next to her.

I think I finally figured out why this story isn't showing up in updated, so it should get more traffic hopefully. I didn't think it would be this unpopular...?
Anyways... The song I kind of use is 'If Today Could Last Forever' by Masketta Fall, if you wanna check it out. It is an amazingly beautiful song... Reasoning for choosing it hahah.
