The Devil in the Mirror

Rose's POV:

It's dark here. I didn't expect that when I first arrived.
Maybe I didn't want anything, but yet, I did expect a little more. Maybe giant flowers blooming every colour imaginable and new colours unimaginable. Possibly checkered hills with cotton candy clouds. perhaps even the crazy guy with the hat and teacup, was that too much to ask?

But I'm not alice. So i suppose it makes sense. it makes sense that they wouldn't welcome me the same way with her, she was special, i'm not. i'm just me, I'm Rosie, i'm not normal, and that's okay. I'm okay.


the road is winding and rather confusing, but I stay right in the centre, putting one foot in front of the other as i make my way deeper into this wild abyss of inanity. i don't really mind, since i happen to adore those who are insane, because i am insane, so I belong with them. i belong here, with them, or there, with him. Or home, with him. or nowhere, alone. i like nowhere.

he appears as i'd predicted, smiling and grinning like a fool.he say nothing as he offers me his arm, and i comply, smiling politely as he whisks me away as quick as he appeared. Just as i'd wanted.

"oh dead, oh dear," he muses as he tsks lightly at the wild scene before us,"i'm afraid I left for one minute, and suddenly hell has broken lose. Well, nothing that we can't deal with.'

I nod, smiling again, and he pulls out a chair at the crazy table fro me, as i pick up a chipped teacup, running my finger along the sharp edges. He sits across from me, ignoring his usual spot at the head of the table, and removes his old hat, brushing off invisible dust.

"so dearie, how is everything? How are you?" he asks, leaning back in his large chair, crossing his arms over his chest, quirking up an eyebrow questioningly.

I shrug, relishing in the sudden sharp pain as I prick my finger on the cracked teacup, smiling as blood pools from the tiny indent. "i'm fine, i miss him, but nothing else, nothing more. and yourself, darling Hatter?"

he doesn't answer, and continues to gaze at me thoughtfully, pursing his coloured lips slightly, "well, I believe we have a problem here, a very big problem at that," he leans forward, resting his hands on the messy table, "you aren't afraid."

I cock my head to the side, confused, "should I be?"

He chuckles darkly, leaning back, "you already know the answer to that sweetheart. It's not normal to like it here. you need to go back."

"what if i like it here, or with him, what if i want to stay?"

"you can't," he answers simply with a chuckle.

I pout, slamming my hans on the high table, "I don't like reality! let me stay in my own world of insanity!"

"Now, now, adventures and dreams here are quite nice, but you and i both know that wouldn't suffice. you need to go back to your own world, before you, yourself cease to be pearled," he states blankly his eyes glowing white for a moment as he recites his lines.

I'm stunned at his chosen words, and I stand abruptly, the world spinning more than usual. I collapse simply, falling backwards down, or rather up the rabbit hole.

I lost myself in reality, but I found myself in Wonderland. Who'd've ever thought that?

hmmm.... i'm not sure entirely sure how i feel about these last 2 chapters, and since i've got no comments on your guys' reactions, well, I'm kinda in the dark here.

I didn't like this chapter, not one bit. I may edit it, or something, but it's rather confusing as is.

also! How'd you guys like for Valentines day, for me to make a ne story, with one-shots (happy, lovey-dovey ones) of characters from all my stories?? up to you entirely!! so vote you opinions!!!! Or, i could make a story (possibly on this website) where i make Fairy Tales stories like the last 2 chapters in tis story!
