The Broken One

Decisions

***Andy’s P.O.V***
Mrs. Henderson leads me a couple rooms away from Cynthia and stop. She turns towards me and by the look on her face I can’t tell she probably doesn’t have good news.
“So, Cynthia seems very open about this whole situation and that is very good. Some people will deny everything and not talk. But, from my point of view she is very unstable, she said that she would attempt suicide again and that is very scary”
She says, looking up at me.
“So what are we going to do”
I ask.
“Well, there’s more than one option. The first one would be to have her talk to a psychiatrist several times a week and see if that helps. There are a lot of downsides to that though, it’s more dangerous. She of course would have to go on medication and that would be up to you to get her to take it. Also there is a greater chance she would still be cutting and possibly try to commit suicide again. She needs constant attention and I'm afraid you wouldn’t be able to give her that.”
She says solemnly.
“So what’s the other option?”
I ask.
“You might not like it so much but in my opinion it’s the better one. There’s a hospital called Redwood Psychiatric Center. It’s about twenty minutes away from here and it’s a great place. They keep patients for as long as needed. They give one on one or group therapy sessions daily. They allow visitors whenever they want to come as long as its planned at least a day before. The nurses there are trained and experienced. It would give Cynthia the full time care she needs for as long as she needs it. I think it’s the best option for her. I'm leaving it to you to decide, Mr. Biersack”
She says. I nod and rubs my temples, tired. I hadn’t slept much during the two days Cynthia had been here.
“I have to go now. If you have any questions I’ll be around here somewhere. Good luck”
She says before turning around and leaving, walking down the hall to another patients room. I start wondering down the hallway, my mind spinning. I know that Cynthia will hate having to stay at a hospital but Mrs. Henderson was right, I can’t watch and be with her 24-7 and that leaves a lot of risks.
After a few minutes of walking around I turn back in the direction of Cynthia’s room, my decision made.

Notes

Sorry this is a really short chapter. I might update again later tonight.
