Two of the Best

Jake’s Pov:
I didn’t mind the two new girls on the bus, they seemed nice, well, as long as you don’t piss them off. Alex was really quite though, and seeming to take liking in Andy and only really talking to him. But then when I looked at her again, I finally noticed it. Her baggy sweater that covered her arms, and it was summer. I also noticed her thin legs, and she was also wearing jeans. I felt a shiver go down my spine at the thought. Then I looked at Raven, she looked exactly the same with the long sleeved shirt and skinny legs. But, Alex was still different. She was always shy and nervous, letting Raven always speak for her. What was up with these two girls? I managed to ignore whatever CC was doing, he always acted like an idiot. I sigh and plop down on the sofa, taking out my phone when I feel my phone buzz.
Jinxx: Dude, you see what I see right?
Jake: CC being stupid or the super skinny girls with long sleeves on in the middle of summer?
Jinxx: The girls. We need to talk to them.
Jake: Okay. I can talk to Alex. You talk to Raven.
Jinxx: Okay. And after, I want to talk to you.
Jake: Okay?????
I stand up with a sigh, I hated needing to get involved with some ones personal life, but this was different. This was important.
“Alex, come here.” I said and walked over to a place where no one was and it was more private.
“I’ve just noticed this and I feel stupid for just realizing this,” I started. I saw her draw her breath in, her eyes widening. She must know what I was talking about.
“Y-You both are so skinny, and we have offered you food and everything but you’ve denied it.” I was going to continue, but when I looked at her she was already sobbing, tears streaming down her face rapidly.
“Alex come here.” I opened my arms to her but she just shook her head and sat down. I sat down across from her.
“Why don’t you eat, Alex?” I asked her, keeping my voice down.
“I-I’m ugly...I-I’m fat…” She said, her voice low. She kept her face down. I just sighed, I had one more question to ask her.
“Could you tell me why you are wearing long sleeves?” I tried to sound as calm as possible, I didn’t want to yell at her or anything. She quickly pulled up both of her sleeves, starting to sob more. Both of her arms were tattered and cut up, from her wrist to a little above her elbow. I think I also saw her fingertips cut up. She started to sob harder, and I felt a lump grow in my throat a bit.
“W-Why?” I asked her. She only just shook her head.
“My-My Dad raped m-me, he called me ugly, f-fat, worthless...My M-Mom always t-took his side and c-called me n-names...I had no one for such a long t-time...I-I was l-left in the dark to s-suffer alone....” She choked out quickly, and my eyes widened. She pulled her sleeves down and I saw how much she was shaking, how scared and nervous she was. Even though she denied my comfort she sat over next to me and sobbed into my shoulder, and I rubbed her back gently, trying to calm her down. She sat in my arms and sobbed for almost 50 minutes before she pulled out of the hug.
“You should tell Andy…” I spoke softly, and she shook her head.
“I-I can’t I don’t want to see h-his reaction…” She mumbled softly.
“Do you want me to tell him..?” She nodded slowly.
“Ok.” I stood up and kept her there, and I saw her trying to pull herself together somewhat. I went over to Andy and looked at him, explaing everything that Alex had told me, his eyes widening. Andy went over to Alex, and her hugged her tightly and I heard her start sobbbing again. Andy said things to Alex, trying to comfort her a bit. I went over to Jinxx then, he said ue needed to talk to me.
“What happened with Raven?” I ask him.He tells me everything.
“Alex said almost the exact same thing. But in different terms." I pouted a bit. Then Jinxx reached out and hugged me, and I hugged him back.“Jake… there is something I need to tell you.” He says. I look at him, puzzled.
“Jake… I like – no, not like, love – you.” He says, and I feel my cheeks heat up. I was shocked, then happy and shocked again. .“Jinxx… I think I love you too. I just didn’t know how to tell you.” I say. I pull him in for a kiss, staring into his eyes.
“Jinxx, be mine.” He nodded and we kissed again. We walk out of the bunks hand in hand, and the guys stare at us. Alex and Raven immediately jump up in happiness.“IT FINALLY HAPPENED!” They fangirl. Oh god. They ship us. They jump up and down, silently screaming and pointing. “OMFG” Raven screams at Alex. CC again shoots a look of warning. “Oops… 2 more minutes of fangirling over this?” He nods. “Aghhhhhhh! Alex!!!! It happened!” She jumps with her best friend.“Glad your night ended well. But I think it’s time we all went to sleep.” Jinxx says. Everyone sighs and walks back to the bunks for a peaceful-ish night.
